The problem is that in today’s Nfl an immobile qb is garbage. Even Brady and Rodgers had to learn running and playing outside of the pocket.

Well he has a shot this year to earn himself a starting job long term.

He had a terrible situation with Nagy! The media and all of the sports world called him bust, but it very well could have been the coach. I am glad I started buying him while everyone else was dogging him.

As a Bears fan, Mitch is a beast. Nagy used him right for one season and he had 3500 passing yards and 500 rush yards in 14 games. Then Nagy decided to sabotage the team. Just wish people figured it out sooner than 2021.

Im so happy he made it to a good team with a great coach. Hopefully he'll shine and not get injured. I'm hoping the Steelers meet the Chefs, Nagy's new team, and the Steelers knock them out of the playoffs.

Has to be Trubisky. There is no way Tomlin runs him the whole first half with the 1s and then starts Pickett. But with our OL, it will probably be like Ben's rookie year.. there is no way Trubisky doesn't get hurt.

He won it with this game... He was set up to win it as they wanted him to win it all along and have Kenny be QB2. They literally left pretty much every starter on offense in the entire first half with Mitch then pulled all of them in the second with Kenny. Of course this makes Mitch look better than Kenny does just because of who he is on the field with. It is the right choice in my opinion as if you start Kenny you really can't pull him mid season for Mitch if things are going bad. But you can pull Mitch of Kenny mid season as you feel Kenny is the future of the Steelers at QB.

Seems as though the coaching staff would somehow make the OL's rules and techniques as simple and as manageable as possible to make their "less than stellar/borderline shitty" O-linemen more easily able to grasp blocking concepts and individual asignments. Instead, they've brought in an OL coach with "new and "unconventional" methods that's gotten them really confused on the basics of OL blocking - having both remnants of the old habits of conventional blocking mixed in/up with "new" concepts that they haven't learned well enough to be applied as second-nature reactions. I wonder how long it'll take for the OL to come together with the newer concepts (if ever) or if they're eventually going to scrap it (b/c ineffective) and go back to simple zone/power blocking concepts just to have some semblance of production. We'll see pretty soon.....

yeah, we are mostly spoiled and going 9-8 isn't good enough. Trubisky is going to do well, but I hate when we have an OL so bad that we can't run the ball. Najee is going to have 25 carries, 35 yards a lot this season.

@@PeterSedesse What it does is shorten his career, his talent still had him near the top of the league last year, but they’re gonna run him into the ground if they expect him to consistently be top 3 in yards after contact.

Secondary will probably go even against solid offenses but against offenses with elite talent i feel like we will struggle immensely if our pressure can't get to the quarterback.

@@VanB yes I get that. Our defense didn't have all the starters playing the entire time either. T.J. watt went out and I don't remember seeing highsmith. It's also preseason so we aren't throwing actual defensive schemes. I am looking strictly from a talent perspective. Devin Bush also made a play here and there giving me hope he is getting some mojo back. Or offensive line is what scares me along with our secondary. I will revisit this comment for better or worse in the regular season.
