@@Rick-bi9fw really? I'm a lifelong Detroiter and Pistons fan but damn you are wrong about Kawhi how can a guy have a big ego that never speaks? Please make it make sense??
Amazing feeling. Nobody gave us a chance, expected to b swept ourselves by all the experts, and technically took them in a 5 game sweep. Handed Phil Jackson his first ever finals loss after being 9-0 in finals
This will probably always be my favorite sports moment, one of the best pure teams of all time. And they were so close to winning at the next year also
@@MrE51917 Haha oh I know us Spurs fan have that with Ray Allen game 6 vs Miami..but just like that Miami finals 2013..it wasnt just that shot that gave the Spurs the ship..that series went all the way down last few minutes to game 7 because Pistons won game 6 in Spurs..TBH I still wonder what would happen if lets say in 2004 when ya'll manhandled the Lakers..what would a Spurs vs Pistons series have looked like had Fish didn't hit the .04 shot?
@@kennethhill613 04 pistons would definitely win against the spurs cause they are almost 100% that time. 05 just collapsed on Horry, if not for that shot it was a bask to back cause they won game 6 in SA.
@michaelrazon3673 did they win because they were desperate in game 6 not to go home? You can't make that sort of prediction like me saying "If the Spurs won in 2013 had Ray Allen's shot didn't go in..they would have repeated" as your back being against the wall makes you play harder.
The once great franchise of the Detroit Pistons have been rebuilding for 21 years. Imagine what could've been if they won back to back titles from 2004 to 05? 6 eastern conference finals in 03, 04, 05, 06, 07 and 08, made two NBA Final Appearances from 04 then 05. (The Pistons were once known as the Going to Work Era from 2001 - 09,) (They now are the trying to rebuild era of 2010 - present day of the here and now.)
I remembered that year cause I just turned close to 20 years old around that time and the 2004 Pistons were so exciting to watch especially when Rasheed arrived to them in a trade that year it was absolutely amazing and like always I remembered Rasheed guaranteeing playoff wins and they were winning and dominating teams like crazy with their defense which I believe their team is the best defensive team of all time honestly if there was ever a team from any era that I feel would have a chance to beat any team of any generation or decade it would be the 2004 Pistons that team is legendary and with that being said let me say this again 2004 was a good year in watching basketball and enjoying my life
Perhaps the best team defense ever displayed in NBA Finals out of something like 70 series. They played in a way that I think they could play against any team who ever went to finals . Players came to win for team , themselves & all the underdogs who ever they may have been.
Two things. Jason Kidd is probably the reason we didn't win the year before when he injured Chauncey. Ben was wrong. That whole series was the Ben Wallace show. He literally held LA to one shot per possession the whole series. I thought Chauncey should have handed that MVP right over to Ben
the 04 pistons didn't equal teams like the 88 mavs and 78 79 80 and 87 sonics because the 00's didn't have legends like jerry west larry bird magic johnson kareem abdul-jabbar oscar robertson wilt chamberlain and bill russell
but like the pistons won back to back championships right after the lakers did and the pistons had a stack team, pistons won in 04 and stayed pretty dominate after which at least B. Wallace and Billups should be hall of famers, and also why are you comparing teams from the 70's, 80's when this team is from 2004
