Just love all the expansion projects on the Detroit Riverwalk, it really seems to be picking up steam. Extending to the east to beyond the Belle Isle Bridge (soon) and to the west up to the Ambassador Bridge, are slowly becoming a reality. This video will show the progress of the path to the west and what's going on to get around the Riverfront Towers.

Riverfront Towers did not want the Riverwalk to touch their property,this is why it goes outward from their property.Once everything is complete you will be able to bike or walk from Gabriel Richard Park to Ralph Wilson Park,and then on to the Southwest Greenway and across the Gordie Howe Bridge to Canada.And once on the Canadian side the trail will take you thru Sandwich town and on to Windsors Riverfront trail.Its truly going to an international trail way.

They're also building another hotel and apartment building to the east, next to The residences of water tower square( former JLA site).That will bring a lot of traffic onto the riverwalk and that area as well. So excited about how Detroit is really trying to connect all the communities together again ❤ City is coming along way in so many ways. The riverwalk is one of its greatest assets.

That's going to be nice when that section part of the Detroit Riverwalk opens up. That's why we was voted # 1 3 times in a roll 2021 2022 and 2023. And looking forward when the Ralph C Wilson Centennial Park open to the public summer 2024. Detroit has come a long way.

That section had been completed since 2020. The fence had been there since 2020. I had asked why isn’t this section opened where walkers and riders could just come out on the other side. No repsonse

The Riverwalk is great and real asset, but too bad so far that it has not led to much development along East Jefferson so far. Maybe someday, especially the huge UniRoyal sight. I used to to a lot of great restaurants in that area back in the 80's. The Rhinocerous was one of them.

I don’t understand why they can’t open up that portion of the Riverwalk yet. I remember riding up to that point last summer and it was already complete but gated off like it is now. So it’s been done for awhile but they haven’t opened it
