You’re literally the ONLY ONE that has talked about Innersense aha I love that brand and it has amazing ingredients! I guess not everyone is aware as us 😉
Yesss! So happy for this video! My most important products to replace were the Be Leave In, Curl Maker and Ultra Defining Gel.. So far the closest combination I've found is Mielle honey and ginger gel (to replace be leave in) and Curl Keeper original and their gel together to replace the gel and curl definer. Definitely going to give some of these recommendations a shot but figured I'd add mine if anyone comes across them in store! Ps I have 3a to 3b curls, too. Or I did before DevaCurl took a shat on my curls. Slowly getting back to normal for me thanks to the experiments
@@TheGlamBelle haha right?! It's a tough one to dupe! The mielle product is really similar! The smell isn't great but it's pretty much just honey and ginger. Hopefully it helps you! You've helped my hair so much!
I actually noticed I lost a lot of hair when I used Not Your Mother's Curl Talk, at least the shampoo and conditioner- and I mean a frightening amount of hair loss. Not to scare anyone but. I use Zotos All About Curls now and I love it. I don't lose half the hair I used to.
Well I am late to the Deva Curl Dup. Party! My hair has been falling out too. I still have plenty but my hair is literally all over my house. I thought it was due to aging! The new Formula of Deva curl frizz feee foam has given me acne all over my scalp/ hairline which brought me to this video. I’m curious if there’s a dup. For the Deva Curl Low -Poo delight /One condition delight?
I truly appreciate you’re trying to help people. I’ve been a member of the FB support group that Stephanie started, since last August, not long after its inception. The reason products recs were banned, was because, what worked well for some people, didn’t work at all for others, & people just kept spending money. I don’t mean to be a downer, but that is what happened. I went through so many products that others raved about, & did nothing for my hair; it was very frustrating. I’ve had good results with a little known brand in the US, Eleven Australia, sold in the salon where I have my hair cut. Someone else tried the shampoo & conditioner I use, & both didn’t work for her hair at all.
My mother in law just gave me a sample of this and it is a game changer! I was so close to cutting my curls and regrowing them because of the damage but this shampoo and conditioner was AMAZING! Buying a bigger bottle ASAP!
Just started using bumble and bumble products and they worked almost better than my Deva curl. Their stylers were great but they don’t have a gel so I am looking for one now!
I'm currently using the RawCurls line I have to say I'm really loving the whole line they also have a styling foam and a spray gel there prices are very reasonable 😊
Since I am allergic to fragrances I have used the JESSICURL line instead of Divacurl since the beginning of my curly girl journey. My hair was slightly wavy and now it is Wow like Indias! ! The first Jessicurl product I tried was Rockin Ringlets and it really transformed my waves into super curly waves! I just put it on my hair as soon as I got it as an experiment and couldn't believe the difference!! I use it as a refresher by itself OR with Jessicurl Confident Coils 50/50 of each. I wash my hair once a week and only need to refresh one or two times depending on the occasion. I also use the Jessicurl Cleansing Cream or Gentle Lather Shampoo and Deep conditioner. I am surprised that no one talks about Jessicurl as I believe that it is a superior line with less chemicals and no fragrances!
Gerry Felted I also love Jessicurl, especially Rockin’ Ringlets! I think people are ignoring these older brands in favor of whatever is new and exciting. FYI I also love Mop Top, but they do have a mild fragrance.
I started my curly journey a couple days ago & kept watching other channels including Mane (no hate) but I swear nobody had the clear, cut to the chase advice that you do. You explain exactly what I need to know without all the irrelevant talk. In just a couple videos I feel more confident on what I need to do to start successfully. Thanks to you I believe that I will be rocking my natural curly hair like I always wanted. You’re so beautiful by the way
My favorite dupe for the B'Leave In is from the Harmon's discount store Devacurl dupe line! Back when I was still using Devacurl I used the DC on one side of my head and the Harmon's on the other and didn't see any differences. I need to repurchase the Harmon's one since I am almost out of it now xo
Let me just say, I am a product-free 4b/4c kinky/coily who primarily wears mini twists. The main reason I clicked on this video is because I noticed you were wearing one of my signature and favorite hairstyles with similar earrings that I have, lol. You are totally rocking this style by the way! Love the makeup too with the pink lip! Also the pink you are wearing looks great against that green in the background. Really nice presentation there! You really seem to know your products.
Awesome! Love how you get right to the point and fast!!! 🤗 Yes, I tossed out a huge box of DC products some not even opened...made me sick. Also love the LUS Brand and Raw Curl lines. Have you tried any of the Lange products? Not curly specific but they have some good and affordable products too. Thanks great info!
If you are looking for a one styler that is glycerin free and lightweight, the TreLuxe ReFlex curl styling serum is amazing! I have had consistent results with it and love it. It leaves your curls bouncy, silky, natural soft feel, with a flexible hold. It is also botanical, lightweight, and anti-frizz. It’s a funny consistency and is super easy to apply without feeling sticky. It’s best to apply to damp hair instead of soaking wet hair. For refreshing, I simply use a water spray bottle and apply a small amount of the serum a little as needed (emulsify in your hands before glazing and squishing into your hair). For gel, Dippity doo girls with curls gelee is hands down my favorite glycerin free gel and it’s super adorable. Favorite diy gel is homemade flaxseed gel. Leave in conditioner (glycerin free), is the Blueberry bliss leave in; a tiny bit goes a long way and pairs nicely under the Dippity doo gelee. (Diy flaxseed gel also pairs beautifully under the Dippity doo gelee.)
Am using the NYM line and I am a fan. Also splurged and bought a Dyson hairdryer and from the first use I am a believer. Ordered the Function of Beauty line where u customize everything down to the color and scent. Am really liking it too. Have some Shea Moisture products, but my hair is fine and it gets weighed down. Good thoughts to all those sufferinh from the effects of Deva Curl.
I just picked up the Not Your Mother's Curl Talk Defining Cream the other day on your recommendation and I've been loving it so far. I'd be interested to see a video with your favorite drugstore dry shampoos & dry conditioners wherever you get the chance.
Thank you so very much for creating this video!!! I stopped all DevaCurl products two years ago. Unfortunately, Innersense cleanser and conditioner (all lines) sting and burn the heck out of my scalp. So sad about that. AND can we talk about how lovely you look in your soft pink blouse and earrings??? Seriously!
I have been using the Rizos curls shampoo, conditioner, leave in and curl defining cream followed by Ecoslay Orange Marmalade. Best curls ever. I clarify with Ion Hard water shampoo and deep condition with Mane Choice Peach Black Tea anti shedding mask.
Had to come back to this video to report I think I have found a dupe for Deva curl Be leave in! I have searched high and low!! I looked up the ingredients or should we say supposed ingredients for the Be leave in and then I google searched for similar products...The amika curl enhancing gel was the closest thing that I found and after just using it in the place of my beloved Be leave in I can say it is a good match!! I tried the Mielle gel that someone suggested in the comments but it did not work for me, the Amika however worked wonderfully! I ordered on Amazon!!
Thank you for your recommendations! What I find tough about replacing Deva products is that they are all vegan and cruelty-free (which is important to some of us). I've heard that Shea Moisture honey and yogurt protein treatment be recommended before as a replacement for the Deep Sea Repair, but unfortunately, it is not vegan (yogurt and honey). I may just have to keep using the DSR, as I can seem to find any other good replacements..
@@TheGlamBelle awesome. I use the be curly shampoo, conditioner and curl enhancer. I also bought their rosemary mint purifying shampoo (a gentle clarifier). The curl enhancer is what I'm a little confused on. Not sure whether it's a leave in conditioner. It's doesn't quite moisturize my hair. It definitely gives mu curls shape and definition with no crunch at all, but it doesn't feel like a moisturizer. So maybe you can help with that when you do your review please!
@@TheGlamBelle Aveda nutriplenish is their new CG friendly line and I love love the light moisture shampoo, conditioner, and leave in...they also have a deep condition version and an oil...also like the cherry almond line.
I am also enjoying the results and trusting all of the Innersense hair products. Please do more demonstration videos soon with their products. I’m experimenting with their different products to find the right combination for my 3a fine curls in a humid, high dew point climate.
I'm starting my curly hair journey and think this was super helpful in regards to knowing which products to start with! Thank you so much for the video (:
Brandi thank you so much for working so hard to create such a thorough and concise presentation! I really appreciate how you get right to the point and then move onto the next product! You're the best!!!
I buy that Eco Style Gel by the 5lb bucket. It works for curly days as well as when I want to pull my hair back in a slick bun. It's an excellent product. Thank you for making this video, it's so helpful.
I have such great respect, for your suggestions, and I've tried many, since I've given up my DevaCurl. Sadly I had very high hopes for the Love Ur Curls brand, but was greatly disappointed. Their shampoo and conditioner, was the first product, since Deva, that caused Huge hair loss and I mean equal to Deva.
hi Brandy, I just watched you on the CurlyHairShow. You were very nice to participate in the interview and answer their questions. I don't know how you felt, but I was uncomfortable with the tone of some of the questions. If it was me, I might have felt defensive. I hope that it was ok for you. If not, shake it off and move on. Also, when I first started using DC 10 or more years ago, they were wonderful for me also, Then a couple of years ago, I REALLY noticed a change in them. I even emailed DC and asked them if they had changed something! I ended up throwing them all away. They messed up my hair.
I have naturally curly hair too- 24 & just now embracing it! I only used deva curl about 2 years ago didnt like it so I never restocked- but thank you for these dupes 💓
interesting! i started using not your mother’s curl defining line and their voluminous line and i LOVE their hold, and makes my 3b/3c wash day last up to 3 days!
I’m not sure if it’s similar but I’ve been using curls blueberry bliss line currently since it’s reparative and super moisturizing and my hair is all frizzled out from devacurl. But I’m so excited to see what you’ve got to recommend!
Thank you for your recommendations! I'm new in my curly girl journey so this is very helpful. Also, what shadow are you wearing in this video? it's very pretty!
Currently diffusing my hair with Innersense products (quiet curl cream and foam) to see if I get the same results as Deva's supercream and foam. Thank you for all your recommandation.
Thank you so much for this video!!🙌🏾🙌🏾also a cheaper line or product that plumps up your curls is Giovanni protein infusion and their leave in. I always get plumped and full curls every time! But the con is it can be drying.
I bought the pump line, and I really love it! The wait, coming from Australia was long though. I didn’t realize when I ordered it was an Australian company...lol
@@julianamagg3177 even the gel and styling cream? I am new to all of this.... I have wavy hair with a few coils. I don't know what to buyyyy :( I'm also broke lol so it'll have to be drugstore
Omg sameee! I’ve been having such a hard time finding a curl cream to replace devacurl’s but at the RU-vidrs seem to have replaced it with nym cream, my hair did not like it ☹️
I used to have more curly hair, but with my hair loss as I enter menopause, combined with medical issues and use of DevaCurl for years, my hair has become thinner and more fragile. So, my question is, in your best guess, would I benefit more from the LUS Wavy or Curly formula?
I love the LUS brand...seriously just use that and a little LA Looks $1.97 CGM approved gel and I’m out the door... day 2-3 hair I just refresh with cold water or the all in one mixed with water and that’s it! I have no need for any extra products... and my curls look amazing 🥰
I had heard they are from the some mother company as Deva. Therefore, that makes me a little nervous to try them. But, I could be being a little overly paranoid.
The mane choice biotin infused gel (drugstore) is a great dupe for the b leave in its wayyy more moisturizing and it’s not as watery . A little bit goes a long way for someone that has similar hair to you and it leaves the hair touchable. I’m not sure if it’s cgf. It retails for 13-16 bucks but it lasts a good amount of time
I just tried the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Yogurt protein hair mask. It did not work on my hair even a fraction as well as the Deep Sea Repair did. I’m still trying to find something to replace the deep sea repair that also does not contain synthetic fragrances. Also, I read the label for the Shea moisture protein treatment and it has beeswax and carnauba wax in it, which are not CG friendly. Looking at reviews online it seems the waxes are new and didn’t used to be in it. Maybe that’s the reason it made my hair look worse than it did before I did the mask.
I used deva curl for the first time recently, before i seen the law suits. I used it a few times. I just got LUS and i was shocked that my hair looked like i just colored it(the color left in my hair from months ago when i last colored it and it was not bleeding before this so i figure its actually cleaning it) HOWEVER it felt like it fried my hair and i am having soooo much hair falling out in large amounts just from the shampoo and evey step it did that. Felt like it was fried and falling out like crazy
Oh no... you HAVE to try Eden BodyWorks hydration serum as opposed to DC's believe in.... its not a serum at all, has the same texture as believe in... and IMO is SOOO mush better... ingredients wise and price wise... if you try it, you NEED to do a demo video on it.... its the best kept secret for CG's...
If you don't have any hair problems, then just continue as normal. If a problem does come up, then stop using it for a while. Once your hair recovers, you can slowly reintroduce Deva curl products one by one back into your routine. If the same problem happens again, then you've found the source of the problem. If nothing happens even after reintroducing Devacurl, then maybe start considering other factors (hormonal, stress, etc) that could cause the same symptoms.
There are lots of people who say they haven't had any problems. Just listen to your hair. The key to avoiding the big disasters you've heard about is to take action quickly if you do see a change. I noticed many victims waited a long time before they stopped using Devacurl. If you truly suspect the causes may be the hair products, then use the process of elimination method I described in my first comment above. The process of elimination (in which you change out everything and then slowly reintroduce the old products) may help you pinpoint the source.
Make sure you clarify and use non deva-Curl moisture shampoos as well. DevaCurl builds up a lot on the hair. The conditioners are very absorbing and need to be washed off on a regular basis. Like a moisture shampoo every week and clarifying maybe every 2 months.
OMG girl!!! You worked your tail off!!! Thank You for all the Info, products and Work you provided👏👏👏🤗🤗 These recommendations is EXACTLY what I needed and you drove it Home!!! I normally do not comment on anything other than the content of the video, but I have to compliment the Blouse you wore in this video. Your blouse is stunning!!🔥 The style and cut is absolutely great on you...And that Color!!! OMG!!! So flattering and beautiful on you❤️. So appreciate the video, hands down it was So great. Thk u
Hi. I need help. I'm switching hair products.that are too pricey. I also tried a different line a few days ago..it made it worse. I have curly hair. Type 3 I believe...
Marisol Villanueva I also used that product and loved it, I got so fed up spending money to be disappointed I picked up Marc Anthony strictly curls curl envy cream.. it was like $12 Canadian in a drugstore and it worked very similar to deva curl styling cream for me personally.. another one was ogx Moroccan curling perfection defining cream, I bought it off amazon. These products are not strictly girly girl friendly there is some ceteyl alcohol in them but they say sulfate paraffin free so not that bad I guess? Anyways these for me are solving the problem until I find “the one” again lol
@@annawoodcock7374 Thank you! I will definently have to look into those.. right now I am using the shea moisture smoothie then kinky curly custard and the aussie instant freeze gel.. they give me good results but I'm missing the effect of the cream. Thanks for your recommendations!!😍
Have you tried Curlsmith? Their Cowash is to die for and I’m not generally the Cowash type. Or MopTop? I just ordered their samples for the shampoo, conditioner, leave in, & curly hair custard. I hear great things about MopTop on IG but I find it’s not talked about super often so I forget about them 😅
Ifanyone has a recommendation for the Devacurl Set me free, I use that as my refresh usually. I had just bought one before i heard all the devacurl stuff. Really conflicted because i have had hairless over the past several years but I attributed it to my low thyroid and eventually i have gone blonde. I never really used their shampoos and conditioners,I used the gel years ago, and not the set it free, i rarely use the mousse, my hair doesn't seem to like it. So i kind of doubt it's deva curl but should I stop just in case? I hate the thought of wasted product.
Thank you! I’m looking for a line of products that contains no fragrance at all including essential oils. Anyone have suggestions? I’m now using a shampoo free of any fragrances, dyes, and sulfates, but I need more options for my wavy/curly hair.
Joud Faisal thank you so much, I just bought NYM curl talk gel this afternoon, I’ll give it a try and if I don’t like it, I’ll look for the other one you said. Thank you 🙂🤗
I make sure to watch all your videos and you makeup Mondays are my favorite!!!!!! I wish I could win a makeup give away of yours I would love all that makeup 😍😍😍 you are the most pretty person I ever see by the way!!!!!
