Podgora, a coastal town in Croatia, has been hit by a severe storm which has caused severe flooding resulting in the displacement of several people and leaving around 3000 people without electricity. In just over an hour, 143 litres of rain per square metre fell during the storm, which continued for three days. The Dalmatian region has been most severely impacted by the Mediterranean cyclone, with several parts receiving the heaviest rainfall. Podgora has suffered the most damage, with floodwaters engulfing streets, courtyards, basements, and promenades. In some instances, the floodwaters even swept several cars into the sea. The rainfall continues, and firefighting units are working relentlessly to manage and mitigate the damage. The strong thunderstorm caused a disruption in the power supply, leaving around 3000 people without electricity. Unfortunately, more thunderstorm clouds are forming over the sea, moving towards the areas that have already been affected by floods, such as Korčula, Hvar, and Pelješac.
