Diamond doves! I love their coos, it's such a soothing sound. Mine would sometimes go down to the bottom of the aviary and cuddle with my king quails. Absolutely adorable! I just sold the ones I were keeping. Hard to do but I had to because they tend to be active even after dark and they were disturbing my finches in the aviary, sometimes spooking them off their nests. Sometime I will own them again though, as they are just fantastic birds. I'm sorry to hear about your parrot finches. That's really sad :( Happy to hear about the new birds and they they all made it safe and sound.
Sorry to hear that. Strange what happened. Usually birds can tolerate some cold it's drafts that do them in. Losing 3 all in one night is heartbreaking. I just have one pair and a pair of blue face. I got them from Lee's exotic birds and New York bird supply. They're $170 each and $80 shipping for one box. I've bought birds from both places with no issues. Hope this helps.
Just an FYI, if you modify those bird shipping boxes, it will cut shipping in half, I found this out when I started shipping pigeons again. I didn't ship any for a few years. Sorry you lost your parrot finches.
Sorry to hear😢. Thank you for sharing. I had a bird loss yesterday too. I appreciate you showing the bad with the good. I too was questioning the hobby yesterday so this helps to know it happens to all of us.
Finally you got goldfinch they are good singers and hope you breed them is a bit difficult but you can do it hope you get another male goldfinch and breed them.
Oh my Chris, not good news at all... I hope someone can help you out with those red faced parrot finches... but Jay's birds are great looking... I don't think you will have to wait long for those diamond doves to mate... looks like they are rearing to go... thank you for sharing...
