Not everything ends up the they they put in concept. I remember when they announced the world resort with a new look. But the end result was a basic building with a big screen. Look at the original concept. Nothing like it.
If developers build expensive residential highrises, Las Vegas will become a ghost town. Everyone will leave due to increased rental payments and low paying jobs. The only reason people are flocking to LV is that cost of living is cheaper than in other cities.

Maybe a huge city park with desert plants and trees or a trollie system maybe even affordable housing with shops around them would be nice, Vegas has enough luxury hotels and casinos don’t ya think ?
Since Brightline is building a new high speed rail system that's always touted for connecting Southern California to the Las Vegas strip why don't they use this lot to, oh I don't know, build a high speed rail station that will drop passengers off on the strip!?!?!?

Lets all guess, another original “UPSCALE HOTEL” SLS tried that and it didn’t work on that end of the strip so they might as well make a cool themed hotel with some cool attractions because the upscale thing is just deceiving at this point. Theres already circus circus and stratosphere and people outside this country are ALWAYS looking for thrills and things to see on this end of the strip as I’ve noticed doing rideshare. The whole “upscale” thing needs to stop ✋ Leave it to the wynn and others that have its place.
They are missing something obvious that would make Vegas better which would be the reopening of speed the ride (they could possibly put it next to the arena)
sounds like the next Fountainebleau.. they'll get most of the exterior complete just before Vegas is amongst the hardest hit cities in the upcoming recession once again like it was in 08.. all the signs are there.. gambling is already down. honestly a basketball arena seemed like a better use of the land. Vegas has got a team for every other major American professional sport within the past decade. Vegas is and always has been an entertainment town. but at least with professional sports entertainment you can draw people to the city without gambling. The vegas economy has been entirely too dependent on the casinos.. its a massive vulnerability as shown by the fact Vegas was the hardest hit city in the 2008 recession. having lived in vegas, just a mile from this site i know there will likely never be actual business buildings and few condos or mixed use buildings, if anything those types of buildings might be built downtown las vegas or places like Summerlin and various other Suburbs. even though ive said it would be the next fountainbleau, meaning it be the tallest of an abandoned or occupied building on the Vegas skyline, i doubt it ever breaks ground.. id hope banks and investors learned from 2008, and with all the other projects that have been sidelined in the Vegas area it shows this to be the case.. the fact the havent even finalized plans or submitted them for approval before it was announced almost certainly means they'll never break ground, just historically speaking..
This was supposed to happen years ago. Put Wet n Wild back where it belongs. Also demolish the Circus Circus. Its way past due, and also a condemed issue.
