Lmao, chat is always concerned for Danya's clock. This man played hyperbullet against Alireza for 7 hours during the candidates, he does not need 10 seconds for 4 moves. XD

Daniel, I can't read your mind, but I want you to know you can take a break, or leave, anytime. You have given us more than anyone else could; I've known too many people suffering from burnout, and afraid to give themselves time because of the compliments or donations. You are fantastic, and we all appreciate you. You're welcome to give yourself time, nobody worth listening to will tell you otherwise!

I mean.... streaming chess for thousands of people constantly is not an easy thing to do, and the social pressure from people who think it is is a pretty powerful thing and keeps a lot of streamers going much further than they should. I'm just giving him encouragement to do what he needs to. He deserves it

People comment something like this every video, but it's just true. Every single episode of this series is so incredibly valuable. You are a phenomenal teacher, you understand your audience/students very well and are exceptionally patient with their thoughts and explain every position and much more importantly the central ideas of all positions very well. I don't usually like these comparisons between different youtubers but you're educational content is absolutely unmatched at any level
@sanitary103
@sanitary103 10 месяцев назад
you have every right to compare to other youtubers. people (not you) are too sensitive about what others think. as long as people are respectable, it's okay to state why someone you think is better and Danya clearly is one of the best teachers/players on the net.

No disrespect Daniel is a great teacher has helped me a lot, but Rc7 looked like winning on the spot because after Qd8, Bc2 and all black pieces are tied up and stunningly black has no good moves, I thought he would see this, b6 created a hoIe and if black just move randomly, Qe4 and with a double attack on the rook and mate, I assume in a classical game would be played.
@howlingwolf317
@howlingwolf317 2 года назад
@@hector9586 It's really hard to be instructive, sound engaged, and still play perfectly. As you say, Danya would see all of this and probably even see it in blitz if he was playing outside the speedrun context.
@hector9586
@hector9586 2 года назад
@@howlingwolf317 I agree, it's hard to focus while explaining, but my comment is to not discourage the viewer to not calculate further. It's hard to miss the idea if you don't see Bc2 which to be fair it's hard to see, specially in a rapid game.
@SaintD382
@SaintD382 2 года назад
I don't think he played "damn near perfect" at all: as Daniel pointed out, the move *8...0-0?* is a clear mistake. As a Morra player I very rarely encounter this error, it's well-known and easy to avoid. Also, the idea of developing the bishop to b7 doesn't look right (weakening e6 and un-protecting the Nc6). Then he goes ...Na5?! and I start to wonder: what exactly makes you think Black played a near-perfect game? Danya is pointing out lots of mistakes, do you think he's wrong?

Finding the inbetween moves and showing patience when deciding to go with piece activation vs material gain is such a difference between the IM/GM players and the casual club member. Like these are knee jerk reactions of preservation and maintaining a very slow winning lead in chess approach (i blame tigran petrosian) is something i would always do but would possibly allow for the opponent to catch up and remove my lead due to not taking advantage of an earlier position

were there any good lines for bg5 on the move where danya went nb5 instead? im not very good at chess but it looks like there could be some tactics there if black responds with f6 by taking advantage of e6 now being unguarded by another pawn and being on the same diag as the king & an extra attacker. the downside is you leave your bishop on g5 to potentially hang

I feel like the syntax of type 1 and type 2 undefended pieces lack a little bit the situation where a piece is defended but attacked more times. Like a piece attacked twice and defended once is essentially hanging, but if it is attacked once and defended once, it is in practice undefended for the purposes of e.g. being a potential fork victim

Bxh7+, Kxh7, Ng5+, Kg8, Qh5 and that's it, sometimes the Black king can try to escape but here the Queen locks the vital e7 square, it's mate. @stoutlager6325
@stoutlager6325 2 года назад
You'll see more Sicilians at higher ratings. However, if you play the Smith Morra you have to be prepared for the other options black has. Black does not have to take on d4 and if he does, he doesn't have to take c3. Black is unlikely to accept both pawns unless he feels confident his prep in these lines is adequate. Against 3.c3 I play the push variation, 3...d3. This gives white a slight advantage of around +0.5 but eliminates the majority of the trappy pressure white normally gets with 3...dxc3. Another sound way to decline the gambit is 3...Nf6, just giving back the pawn. Nf6 line is a hair better in terms of eval, very close to flat 0 a few moves further in to the line.
@oloyt6844

Dude if you are at the level where no one plays the Sicilian against e4, in no fucking world should you be worrying about openings or gambits - probably focus on learning how to play the game well and getting an understanding, so you can play agaisnt people who know openings. Then learn them.
