Flamu... The Ooyodo was thought as a submarine flotilla commander ship. That's why the japanese removed the torpedoes and other things. She looks like an hybrid ship, but is more like an utility ship.

its lesta not wege, it might be implemented in a year or 2 and it might not. WoWs Lesta already have battlecruiser for Russian tech tree but WG still not yet give information about this, just for example
I was once considered a whale and now haven’t played WOWS since 2020. The introduction of subs and the torpedoes of death from the Midway noped me out.
Btw thinking about it, we technically already have the Oyodo in the game in the form of Omono. The Omono is a full artillery cruiser version of the Oyodo but having its hangar replaced with two more turrets.

So in theory can that Lothringen thing activate all of Günther Lütjens bonuses at once? Like planes for spotting ribbons especially in cyclones, rockets for the plane restoration, long range secondaries for 100 hits and main batteries for 140 hits (even if it would be difficult). Like does that work like that?
Imagine: Natsukaze in arms race with triple reload buff and Yamamoto's second wind. That's 15 Jäger torpedoes every 27 seconds, before AR. :o) By the way, stock the torpedoes have a 10.8s reaction time, right inbetween Yuudachi's 15km torpedoes and Akatsuki's 10km ones. Not that it matters much when 15 of them are coming at you from 6km away... Ooyodo has hydro and defAA in separate slots! For AA her tier, she has the best long range, second best short range and best flak, but no medium range. Still, she'd be one of the best, if not THE best, cruiser for AA her tier. The main guns have 26mm of pen on the HE shells, making farming tier 6 and 7 BBs easier. IFHE brings it to 32mm, for tier 8 BBs, although it might not be worth it.
The Oyodo was the actual successor to the Agano-class CLs, and only a single ship of this class was built, because by the time the lead ship was completed, the class was deemed to be obsolete. The Gokase was not the direct successor to the Agano. WG probably based this ship off the cancelled C-44 class/Agano-Kai class light cruiser blueprints, which had 4 triple 150mm main turrets, and 2 centreline-mounted torpedo launchers. And of course, the Oyodo did not carry 4 floatplanes (mainly 2, or at most 3), and neither did the Aichi E13K nor the improved Kawanishi E15K have the capacity to carry two 250kg HE bombs, but only one since they were primarily used for reconnaissance purposes (I am guessing the weight from the maximum damage of each bomb, most probably WG gave the Type 99 No. 25 series bomb to this aircraft). Other than these, the cruiser should be pretty fine unless WG suddenly decides to buff or nerf the hell out of this ship.
Lesta mention that Lothringen also have interceptor like hiryu aka support CV lesta version. That mean Lothringen can spawn interceptor from her hybrid squadron. So that 4 different planes from 1 ship.
Lothringen sure left a strong impression here XD What's even more funny is that it's ship badge (and commemorative flag) is actually *Elsass-Lothringen of Imperial Germany* it's usage on Kriegsmarine's hybrid Pommern is rather... interesting (premium Bretagne-class Lorraine when?)
@@anubhavdassarma7230 what? Scharnhorst guns on a fdg class bb? You smokin hard man it makes sense that they put 380s since they had them and it was tested. I assume the design was for a bismarck class bb originally?
@@mertc8050 you do realize, I didn't design them? I'm just stating what's given. And 380s don't make sense, since these are proper hybrid ships, so having a flight deck and Bismarck guns are gonna keep the ship from floating.
For those that care I googled the Flugzeugkreuzer Projekt and the one Lothringen is based off was a bit different Main Point being it only had guns of 280cm caliber and the thing that surprises me the most it also had 6 533 torpedo tubes which i find interesting that they decided to not give a German premium BB torpedoes
you need to wait 1.5 to 2 years, when there will be a full line of this. tier VIII will have 280s and tier X will also have torps. or something like that)
In case some people don't know, oyodo was the flagship of japanese combined fleet in IJN final days, imagine previous flagships was Nagato, yamato and Musashi.
What i liked: adding Ooyodo to game, irl ijn CL, good Not like in that in same time: turned Ooyodo to CLV...? (CAV is aviation cruisers but heavy cruiser guns, forget for CLs have that special nametype or no), other not like: its in lesta....
At first i didn't really care because i don't play Lesta's version but then i saw IJN ships AND THEN I SAW THE OYODO !!! They got the Oyodo before we do !!?? WTF ? Also that Natsukaze looks incredibly fun ! The only way you can get me playing torp boat nowaday is by making it having long range torps and fast reload, those are the only two things that i need to get me interested in playing it! Idc about low damage, high detectability or whatever. As long as it has fast torp reload i will play it. Man, they made better IJN ships than WG does, shame.
im here 4 months later.... Do Lesta and World of Warships share designs outright? Because that "hybrid german battleship" looks a hell of a lot like the hildebrand they just released in wows.
strange moment, imgine if WG decided that carriers needed a new type of squadron, removed the depth charge autonomy made it where youd be able to launch those and control them
First time I've checked out a dev blog video on this game in probably two years, and the very first ship on the video shows me nothing has changed. Just keep adding in more annoying ships to your broken game. GG Wargaming.
can someone help me? i dont understand how do you reduce a 6,9 detectability range to 5,8 because if im not mistaken (im a beginner) the only concealment reducer is the level 4 commander skill which only reduces 10% and that makes 6,9 (x0,9) to 6,2 right? what makes it to 5,8?

Original wows developer in St.Petersburg, WG bought the studio long time ago. They separated after the Russia-Ukraine war started. Now WG and Lesta have their own development team. But mostly Lesta is responsible for new ships and game mechanics.
Let's be honest WG had been unable to balance torpedo boat since the over nerfed Torp detection since patch 0.5.X , they just cannot ,made the normal torp to hit consistent enough to made them actually main stay weapon , almost all torpedo boat suffer from this inconsistent performance from their torp .. and its not even a skill issue So they try deep water torp , mad speed torp and finally homing torp ... And this new IJN DD is just trying to hide the fact they cannot properly balance and update the Shima , let's face it 20KM torp on the Shima is practically useless , if they had down it to 1.8 km or 1.6 km detection it might just work sort of .. they simply still had no way or know it too well that they can but they will not do the proper torpedo balance cause they are just too much pampering the BBabies Torpedo Boat DD had literally been power crept to the max , how many Hydro had one on the field these days , how many CV , SS , RADAR , mad machine gun gunboat DD and CL .. which practically mean Torp Boat DD are forced to launch from max , even more than max range , ditto the hit rate is all but miserable So the solution : let them spam torp just as HE spammer Cruisers do with their guns .. it might work, but then is it the right path to go
Karma be like? : I like hybrids as long as the only hybrid in match is mine. - I picked Yorktown, smoke CV MF. It worked 80perc WR until last needed star. You know, team full of bots. So I gave up CV adventures, Essex already in port (for collector purpose, Anniversary and Christmas rewards). 💥Then yesterday ranked 6vs6: Enemy team had Alaska, our team aswell. I had DD. I would have some chance but enemy team had 3 hybrid ships : 2 Kearsarge + Halford.🛩️🛩️🛩️ No chance to get into caps.
Wait 533mm on IJN WWII DDs doesn’t make much sense. Japan already utilized 610mm Type 93 already one of the best Torpedoes of WWII why Japan even bother try to equip things with 533? WeeGee is trying to be dumb again. Now it isn’t wrong on Natsukaze as a name. It still weird. “Summer wind” seriously this is the opposite Yukikaze, “Snowy Wind” oh well, I’m not WeeGee to agree to things. Oyodo never is a Bombing Aircraft Cruiser. She historically have scouting aircraft for spotting enemies. Or at most, fighters. Okay German is never plan any a god damn Hybrids. This is WeeGee at its finest. Oh and remember the thing that Wows video about ship classes? Where engineers can’t put everything together to make everything? WeeGee somehow manage to do that now.

Everything about Lothringen sucks. Even the name... since it proves once more, WG and Lesta just pick random imperial german names... except Lothringen was no longer part of Germany after WW1. In addition, the coat of arms is not that of SMS Lothringen, but is the coat of Arms of Reichsland Elsass-Lothringen, the areal administration designation in the german empire. Both, SMS Lothringen and SMS Elsass had different coats of arms. In addition the coat of arms has a duke's crown. That would definitly be gone after WW1. Also, make no mistake. Germany never planned such a ship.
9:12 Lothringen You can say a lot of bad things about the german ships, but they are amazing looking, stylisch pieces of art. but THIS thing... has to be the most ugly piece of metal ever floating on the see! I would rather play an oil rig 🤮
