Engineer Anas Dawas, I apologize for the inquiry, but I have a question regarding the longitudinal reinforcement of columns or pedestals embedded in footings. Typically, this reinforcement must meet its development length in both compression and tension, and a hook is also added. My question is, what should be the length of this hook? I have often seen a distance of 50 cm in detail drawings, and recently I saw a document that stated the minimum was 45 cm. I would like to know where this dimension comes from, or should we only consider the 90-degree hook, which according to ACI, should be at least 12d? Thank you in advance for your response.

Thank you for sharing your fantastic tutorial! It has been immensely helpful, and I truly appreciate the effort you put into creating it. I wanted to suggest if it would be possible to make an English version as well, as I believe it would benefit a broader audience and enable everyone to benefit from your expertise. Additionally, I have been following your LinkedIn account for some time, and I've gained valuable insights from your posts. If you wouldn't mind, I would love to connect with your new LinkedIn account. Could you kindly share the link when you get a chance? Thank you again for your excellent content and for considering my requests.
