That curved development is meant for cone and cylinder....as they are also curved objects... And as far as prism and pyramids are concerned the points are to be joined lines....

You can make the true shape of section for any one of them, two of them or even all of them.... It depends what exactly has been asked to draw...

Yes u can. It's just that 12 equal parts gets you more points on the development. But yes it takes more time.
