Development Studies: graduate careers 

Former students of Birkbeck’s master’s in development studies, international childhood studies and social anthropology discuss how their degrees have helped their careers. They highlight the access to high quality teaching from Birkbeck lecturers and visiting speakers, and the networks of professionals working in the field that they have built during their studies. Increased confidence and improved writing skills, as well as an ability to use appropriate language are all benefits identified by the students. These students have gone on to build successful careers with the Department for International Development, NGOs and professional services businesses working in the field of development.
