if you liston with a sub playing you can clearly hear the mania is going into sub bass territory while the boombox 3 is struggling below about 38hz. crazy impressive for a speaker that small. thats what your paying for.
Most of the reviews always have the Mania facing the wrong direction. The drivers should be facing the to sides not forward and back. As well the mid high drivers are angled up about 30 degrees so you never get the full sound with mic on a level plane for the benefit of the opposing speaker. As well because the bass drivers are facing forward and back the Mania is only casting either the left or the right channels at the mic.??? The other channel is firing away from the mic.??? Smh!
in the app the drivers are facing to the wall as the example so im pretty sure it goes that way edit: not to mention this speaker is 360 and it easily fills a room up and in difference to other speakers it doesn’t feel as if all the sound is coming from the same place all the time like wherever u sit sounds clear as it does calibrate to its environment
@@turtlegaming2098 Technically this isn't a 360 speaker. There are left right channels. Bass waves have longer waves so if you want the bass to fill the room you want don't necessarily want the woofers (plural) facing you unless there is a single woofer and even then depending on your set up you still might not. This speakers orientation has 4 speakers up top 2 left channels 2 right channels almost facing in almost 4 degrees opposed to each other. The bass drivers face left right to take advantage of room deflection which is why this isn't necessarily a good outdoor speaker. You could in theory place this next to a wall out side and get the best sound out of it to get some deflection but at say a completely open air scenario you'd be better if with something with all the drivers facing you as it would be louder 8n that configuration. Now sure, if you're sitting fore and aft of the the opposing channels you'd get the best sound if you're sitting left and right you'd only get the left or right channels sound with a more bass firing at you. It could be with the on board room correction that the speaker could revert the bass drivers in to left right channels or mono depending on the room it's in or if it's in open air and since there is DSP involved and the speaker has independent crossovers for each speaker it could in theory change the 4 mid/high drivers to whatever channel configuration it wanted if they did that much work on the DSP and room correction. But no one has tested that out yet with left/right channel sound tests to see what it actually is doing given differing scenarios.
Why always try to find explations for expensive products?? Se room, same mic for both, Just say truth, for money here no comparison, JBL boombox 3 is ten time more complete product, loudness, bass, battery duration, more power when need for biger party when plug in and cost 300$ less..
When compared to the bb3, the devialet seems to lack mids and, as well as some upper treble that gives that crisp sound of the boombox. Btw, this guy doesnt do justice to the boombox, this guy put bass bass and treble to 80% ehile putting mids to 25, even though the boombox is already a highly V tuned speaker
Mania, where ever you place it, it would sound the same the sound stage , clarity and the lower fq is amazing for the size. BB3 you have to place it right in front of you, its made for party not for clarity. both are great speakers.
@@The_Animal_Man i am, but i only listen to mania and boombox 3 side by side at audio store, jbl boombox its amazing party speaker for its price, but mania has better soundstage and clarity to my ears, maybe it just my taste of music idk.
Both very nice performance. The devialet is very impressive for it`s size, however it`s much more expensive. I have the Boombox myself, and it goes very loud. I don`t think the devialet will ever match that.
I am quite disappointed, where is the sub bass from Mania ? Maybe I am used to my Phantom I Golds in stereo too much, 14Hz without any difficulties☺️ This tiny speaker shall be considered with huge pinch of salt.
Are you reat.arded? Little Mania competes here with one of the best much larger portable speaker and comes out with more bass. Nobody give AF about your plugged in speaker setup. Only shows how stupid you are saying you are disappointed with the best product available on the market.
Considering the fact that the mania is barely louder than the xtreme 2, and that the boombox 3 is way louder than the x2, i think you'd have a great guess
The boombox is just too much of a beast for the Mania, some say the mania's speakers are facing the wrong direction, but for an 800 dollar speaker that shouldn't be an issue.
if u prefer the boombox then you have some serious hearing issues cause the Devialet mania has super clean audio and much better bass if u put the boombox at max bass it loses 80% of the bass while the mania stays perfect
Esque esa claridad es impresionante, simplemente la boombox es inferior en agudos y medios, están muy amontonados los instrumentos y a volumen alto molesta bastante.
@@MishynOfficial I Think that's true, because I have one of the devialet product, and the sound outdoors became thin, unfortunateley, it's some kind of Devialet sound magic indoors, like, sound preasure indorrs feels more than outdoors or using reverberation from the walls or something like that
@@nxjz it is definitely a wall bouncer, the best corner speaker out there. For the best 3d sounds should put it between two walls on the floor, that just blows, especially bass
lol every speaker close to walls will play much bugger sound... devialet is just overpr8ced piece of crap for ppl who want to spend money on nice looking tech not good sound. something like beats by dre@@MishynOfficial
Devialet Mania sounds nice, but it is too small for my taste and too expensive. There everyone agrees. The price should be 300 less. 500€ not 800€. The price got most people bamboozled. Because it is so tiny and so expensive. 💀 But the sound it can make is still impressive. The price is high and gets people say no, but it does not not mean the sound is terrible. Just the price gets people mad. This is true. And 95dB is nicely loud. On a small speaker that makes sense. JBL Xtreme 3 is also similar. Maybe slightly louder. But still Devialet Mania has WiFi and master audio. 9216 kbps. And the deep bass it can out put with Devialet HBI (Heart Bass Implosion) monster tech is impressive. 😆
Vifa Oslo is the same size but sounds much nicer and is twice as loud... Mania has deaper bass but oslo has much stronger attack overall, so 500€ 7 year old speaker is outperforming the 800€ speaker?
@@miksumasterjbl8899 not even close.. i am sory funboy but this speaker is much closer then you think.. also JBL is waterproof , have 3 time better batery duration and when plug in have 20% more powerfull sound, also cost 300$ less... so, JBL all day everyday..
JBL Boombox 3 doesn't have good sound quality, not even close. JBL Boombox 3 is louder, has louder bass and battery life is better. Devialet has better sound quality and bass is way deeper. 10 hours doesn't matter, because i would leave it plugged in. And IPX 4 isn't bad, i wouldn't put it on water anyway, so IPX 4 is enough. I like sound quality, if i want massive bass, then i would buy a JBL Partybox 310 or JBL Partybox 710.
@@miksumasterjbl8899 deep and clean bass is the most important and hardest achivment thing on this small "portable" speaker, so, if we talk about real portable speaker, deep and clean bass and loudness is in top 3 important things, if we talk about sound quality on battery "MONO" speaker, the different is not too much how you think, i tested hundred branded bluetooth speaker and personal have a lot, bose, anker, jbl, sony, tribit, sonos and others lower branded speaker, i can say one, JBL makes the most complete product, price = quality production, sound quality, loudnes, battery duration, good conectivity, aplication.. so, say how JBL boombox 3 have bad sound quality is heavy lie and that not true..
You don't know what you are talking about. A fire alarm sounds "clean" in your opinion. But that is not clean music, it's a boosted sound. Every JBL is really bad, but it's loud and people with bad hearing like you love it. This is why other Devialet speakers cost $5000 that you will never have.
devialet a lot cleaner but cmon man jbl isnt bad at all. Most of ppl prefer v shape eq like jbl bcuz it tricks your brain that vocals are crystal clear @@RandomHelicopter
mania sound at out door bass gone, and low vol treble gone ,and mania sound so dark really so disappointed, is u like bass treble just go for boombox, this two sound quality not really obvious and mania so expenive did nothing,, i decided to sell devialet mania change to b&o or haman kardon
Sadly Brane X will eat Devialet Mania. Soon Brane X is coming to international shipping. Devialet Mania has 30 Hz deep bass and it's 800€. Brane X has 20 Hz deep bass and it's 600€. Better deal than Devialet Mania.
@@fahrradbang69 I just let you know the specs. As for bass performance, depending on the feelings of each listener, it's different. Some people might say better. The yonder is better
Bass for its size is really good. Better than any speaker close to its size or a bit bigger. It's not like the Boombox but the bass is deep and punchy for its size. And also it does get very loud as well.
I own it and it defeats the boombox on bass quality and it also manages to go way deeper to where you feel it in your chest down on subwoofer levels thanks to the real time calibration the devialet has it uses its environment to sound way bigger and better than its actual size. Have in mind I listened to it on video and u have to be in person to understand and actually hear how the speaker actually sounds as mics on videos I have recorded just don't pick up that clean deep bass the same way I experience it in person
