My disappointment with this game is bigger than it was before.

I recall hackers or data miners discovered a DMC2 remake for an upcoming project from Capcom. It could be one the last 2 games Itsuno is working on before retiring. To be honest, it would make sense. DMC2 is the first Devil May Cry game he came in during development with little time to do what all he wanted to. So a remake for his last DMC game would be coming full circle.

I think they should start with 1, using the RE engine and mechanics from 5. Imagine dmc 1 with a fully style swtichable and fully weapon equip Dante? Theyd probably have to add a couple weapons to make it truly feel like a modern dante, considering theres really only 2 devil arms in the original.

This game needs a complete overhaul. Better gameplay, better story, better voice acting, and more devil arms that aren't just swords. The only thing this game got right was Dantes outfit.

I mean,if they did well in this game,they probably couldve done even more in DMC3 since they told that they made DMC3 as good as it is,because DMC2 was bad and literally killed the franchise,now imagine,the director of DMC2 leaves,but Hideako Itsuno takes over,with time to turn over DMC2,makes a good game out of it,and with the money they got with DMC2 being good,imagine what DMC3 could be,maybe even top off GTA SA sales

@@julius00 I'm not so certain DMC2 being successful would have been a great idea, as that would have encouraged whatever that theoretical version introduced to the franchise. Unless you completely changed the direction from the ground up (at which point it's we're literally just talking about what we would have wanted to be in the game), we could have ended up with 3 having the combat system 2 had or something similar - lord forbid we got a more sombre Dante going forward. That being said, I really do wish DMC2 was remade (note, not just remastered), as the introduction of Amulets and the predecessors to Style techniques should not be ignored. Giving actual Devil Arms to Dante would have been a good place to start, since that would have added a some more diversity to his playstyle. Plus, this could let the Amulet system continue into DMC6 a decade from now, with possibly a more fleshed-out Lucia - her and Nero defending the Human World could be an interesting game, or have Dante and Vergil gain Amulets to help them slaughter everything in the Demon World.

@Black ehh I think if they remade the first three and put it as a bundle it would sell butt loads especially to fans. Itsuno could do it the biggest hurdle being 2 of course rewrite and completely remake the gameplay. But no one would care if they changed anything about 2. It would be nice not to have a black sheep in the franchise. 4 doesn’t need a remake at all. But it would just feel weird having a remake of 1 game and not the trilogy like RE 2 and 3. So do them and if they mess up 3 u still got the old one.

I hope you at least recognize that it's objectively a bad game. Not just a bad DMC game (that goes without saying), but a bad game overall. It sucks. I still like some of it - the loaded coin thing is charming, some combos are nice, the game can be a little fun at times if you use the sword - but it's really a crappy mess at the end of the day

I'm back after beating the game with Dante. Some bosses were fucking abysmal and basically required gunspamming. Legitimately had some fun with Oranguerra, Bolverk, Plutonian, and Despair Embodied though

Oh also I thought Argosax was a really cool boss concept, just pretty horribly implemented. It also didn't take me long to figure out that it has pretty hilariously wide blindspots in its range

You can easily perform a combo and finish it in a similar fashion with "Fireworks" or a normal shot.

Both fireworks and back shotgun is available in future games they are just behind gunslinger instead

Wall hike is still in DMC3, but that was its last appearance. The problem with it is that it is too easy to trigger when you'd want to dodge somewhere else in DMC2. And with the mobility that Dante has in later games, it becomes pretty redundant anyway.

Wall Hike in 3 was good but unnecessary. It was only useful for getting to places higher than you can with just Air Hike. Maybe you could use it for combo videos to make it look cool, but it had no practical usage to it. Wall Hike in DMC2 was outright terrible and really ruined the game experience. This game relies on you to keep using it to keep your Style rank up, but it's nearly impossible to simply roll in a different direction when near a wall because Wall Hike happens far too easily and accidentally and while it does give invincibility frames it does not keep your Style rank up. Also, many walls don't have smooth surfaces, meaning that the accidental Wall Hike may end prematurely, meaning that in some scenarios it's 100% impossible to dodge an attack purely because of Wall Hike. It was an unnecessary but cool concept executed not badly in 3, but in 2 it would have made the game so much better had it not been included.

@@MyNipplesArePointy There were some rare situational times where it was useful. I used it to make the cube platforming bit a lot less dreadful (but it still sucks even with that) and it enables you to completely cheese that one secret mission. But yeah, other than those couple things, there's really no reason for it to be there, especially since DMC4 and 5's level design is such that even if it was there, those rare situational uses no longer exist.

Moves upon landing, Air Raid moves and Sword x Gun basic combos should still be there. Glad they bring back Sword x Gun combos in Peak of Combat.

Cause it’s the base for it. Itsuno doesn’t want elements of the game to remain as a failure. Itsuno was made the director at the last phase of dmc2 development cycle, but even he couldn’t turn dmc2 to be a proper game with such little time to spare Dmc2 failed to meet expectations. It just motivated Itsuno even more. Hence why he tried to bring MDT into the series around 4, but couldn’t fit it in the game. (Such as nero own DT form) Which he’s able to do so in 5. Even the DmC reboot which everyone hated is slowly being incorporated into the main series. Cause itsuno won’t let a failure to remain a failure in the Dmc series.

The "Majin" Devil Trigger IS Sin Devil Trigger. "Majin" is a mistranslation as it's just the term for Devil Trigger in Japanese. It was called "Shin Majin" in both DMC 2 and 5, which was localized as "Sin Devil Trigger" in English as it sounds similar and has a snappy ring to it.

Well there's a different between "bad" and "unenjoyable." Objectively speaking, it's actually even worse than most people realise, but regardless of the objective flaws, if you enjoy it, you enjoy it. Despite thinking DMC2 is worse than people think, I also enjoy it more than most people that play it.

Technically there is a move list if you go to Files→Actions. It's just that they don't include more than half the shit that Dante actually has

A remake with better gameplay than DMC 5 but retains Dante's DMC 2's personality and voice with the comeback of his voice actor Matt Kaminsky would be great.

As soon as I got the SMGs I never went back. Immediately ranked those up to Level 3 and just never used E&I ever again. Sure they do less damage but the SMGs do less damage to my thumb

@@jotarokujo2053 True you can hold the button, but your shots are slower if you do it that way. You shoot much faster if you mash the button, so personally I would still recommend mashing.

When I first saw a glimpse of Sin DT in the TGA trailer, I remember going "Holy shit Majin DT is back." Sin DT would be even better than Majin DT.

Hmmm. DMC1 does feel outdated, but I actually kind of like the way it is. I kind of don't want to see a modernised DMC1. DMC3 is a fantastic game already so I honestly don't see the need for a remake. I feel like a remake of 3 would have more things ruined than improved. I think DMC2 would be fantastic. DMC2 had some potential and only ended up being shit due to extremely poor production. I'd definitely want to see a fully fleshed out DMC2 as like a "what it could have been" game

@@DMCMaster550 Maybe not remake DMC 3 but at least update the graphics. DMC 1 should probably get the same combat system that's in DMC 3-4 and definitely get the same amount of action scenes as DMC 3.

DMC1 needs modern camera, redone graphics, and perhaps touched up music (not the scores per se but the instrumentation and compression quality). It doesn't need style switching forced onto it, its core gameplay is good as it is but perhaps some more combo pieces would be nice. DMC2 needs like a full makeover. DMC3 doesn't need too much IMO--most you could do would be to modernize graphics, sound compression, and fiddle with the camera a little more. Switch version already has style switching but official support for other platforms would be nice.
