Lol, nice attention to detail, but nero doing that isn't pointless, Agnus made the sword have a combustion mechanic that powers the sword each time you do it
Its a bit weird that credo himself wields one, a red queen, since in dmc 5, nico said in her notes, its so insane only a demon would think of making one or something along those lines, because its so powerful that if a normal human was to wield it it would just go flying out of their hands, so im not sure why credo would have one unless he just never has used the exceed feature(ik he turns into a demon later on but yk, before that)
I just noticed this now. Nero’s Devil bringer is able to tell or identify anyone related to him by glowing upon first meeting. It happened here with Dante before he shot Sanctus. And in Devil May cry 5 it glows once again after Vergil stumbles into his garage.
It also is affected by the presence of weapons used by members of Sparda Family's. Rebellion here where while faint, it still acted. -altought could be taken as Nero using his power to catch it- But also the Yamato. Where it's DIRECTLY confirmed in DMC 5 that it's how Dante confirmed Nero was indeed a member of the family and with certitude the son of Vergil. -he already had his doubts, but the Yamato reaction confirmed to it.)
Hm, 48 likes and 1 reply. Never have seen it that low on one of your comments before, and it was a good one, too. It's nice to see you don't just comment for the exposure or the like counts, unlike some channels. Honestly, it's great we like similar things, stranger. Can't wait to see your next one.
My favorite detail in this scene is when Dante stabs Rebellion into the ground and twists his hand, mocking Nero. It's a subtle but cocky little detail perfectly suiting Dante's character. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but in this case it's the sincerest form of disrespect.
lol Same. When I first saw him taunting me during the fight I did a double take and was like “Wait! Is-is he taunting me? Seriously?!” Needless to say I was surprised but found it quite humorous.
I like how Dante's characters grow throughout the games (albeit some is caused by inconsistency of the writers). In DMC 3 (chronogically the first installment) Dante is kinda punkish and not as composed as his older version. In DMC original, he becomes more composed but still funny and playful. In DMC 2, he becomes more stoic. This is due to the writing's consistency but if we look at it deeply, this is the same Dante who killed Nelo Angelo/Vergil in previous installment. Maybe he's still in grief. DMC 4 is sugar Daddy Dante. Obviously he's already more experienced to the point that anything barely flinches him anymore. You could tell he could defeat the entire Order of Sword by himself but chooses to give Nero some spotlight. DMC 5 is peak Dante. He doesn't even think twice to kill Urizen when he eats the Qlipoth fruit, knowing that Urizen is beyond redemption without his human side. It hurts him deeply but he bear it so Nero wouldn't have to kill his father.
This scene's both intense and hilarious! We first thought Dante turned to the dark side, but when he spoke, it was a relief! I mean, the son of a legendary warrior shot the pope in the head, fought against his nephew, without the kid noticing he and his fiancé joined a sinister cult. Basically describes Christ and his reaction to Jehovah's Witness...
this whole battle was just so well done even after 10 years its still amazing!!! nothing like a little sparda family bonding, heck i wouldnt even be surprised at this point if sparda ever met his sons and grandson now that they all would bond by just fighting each other
I think I saw this in a comment on another video so I’m just gonna say it here. This Dante is very much the DMC 2 Dante, not cracking jokes, not being whacky. Right up until he sees Nero’s arm and he realizes that he might be Vergil’s son
So characteristic of Dante just taunting repeatedly in the middle of the fight. Like, before he was all business, but as soon as someone even remotely interesting shows up, he starts showboating.
This reminds me of Trish that used to play the muted ennemi with Lady in the animate! She was playing with her just like Dante is playing with Nero. Their energy is really matching when it's time to pissed of their opponents 😂
I like how they titled Dante as a mysterious assassin in the first mission.. Like anyone who has ever played a dmc game wouldn't know straight away who the guy in the red coat was.
Don't get the wrong ideas, Dante was just playing with Nero this whole fight. Nero only was able to get the upper hand because Dante understimated him a bit
I have a feeling Vergil would be quite proud of Nero knowing his and Dante's first meeting resulted in Dante getting dropkicked to the face and stabbed with the Rebellion. Again.
Vergil: HEAR ME BOY Nero: WHAT'S HAPPENING Vergil: IF YOU WANT TO BEAT DANTE Nero: oh shit, here we go again Vergil: NEVER TRY TO STAB HIM WITH HIS OWN SWORD Nero. *silance* ok... take care dad.
@@emarionmorring8013 it's not really clear but it seems like Nero went through some traumatic demon attack that made his arm be stuck in Devil Trigger permanently. That's why he couldn't transform properly in DMC4, instead he relied on the bit of Vergil essence that was trapped in Yamato for power
I remember playing this as a kid on my father's computer. I had no other contact with the DMC games. I sincerely thought he'd be the final boss or something. Man, what times
@Dante: The Demi-God It really would be a nice touch if that was the case and it makes a lot of sense. I dont see how that explanation could be anything else actually. Lovely to see the DMC2 Dante getting axed off right before our eyes. Old Dante came back right at this moment.
I like the new details in dmc 5 for nero red queen. Ever since I play dmc 4 I always ask "How the hell does hi sword work damn it?" Then later in dmc 5 they show the component such as adding a detail of a tube above his handle where flames come out and half of the handle is metal while the other is like a rubber look which it the part the Nero twist to actived the revit.
@@thedude3065 Jesus proceeds to turn up again and make statue look like a complete ass from the outside, while his nephew, also carrying divine power, straight up wrecks the pope (again) and then crushes the statue's head.
in dmc2, dante was able to return to human world because a piece of the shattered yamato somehow cut and opened a portal for him. there's literal 0% hes stuck in hell with vergil and the yamato right next to him lmao
3:43 I love that his instinct in this exact moment wasn't to pull out his gun and shoot, given how far away he was, or even to pull out his sword and attack with that, but it was to perform a perfect, both feet DIRECTLY to the face dropkick, like THAT was the first thing that came to mind in that instant, like he has practiced that move to the point of it somehow being instinctive.
11:29 i love that dante was beginning to get annoyed by nero's repeated punches to his face but still held back his devil trigger lmao he's a great uncle
I think it’s less he was getting annoyed and Dante’s fight or flight was going into full effect, either that, or it was Dante’s blood resonating with Nero’s (signalling to him that they were related) as Dante seems to immediately start acting more like a cheery uncle
I wouldn't call Nero edgy. He seems more like he's in that pissed off teenager stage. V from the looks of DMC5s trailers seem to paint him as the edgy one though.
Honestly looking back at this and how they situated everything happening to be after DMC2 and the Animated Series, it makes more sense. You see Dante going through a state of depression in the anime, and a Solemn demeanor in DMC2 and I feel it’s because after losing him in DMC3 and killing Vergil in DMC1 he really did start to feel alone, even with trish, lady, patty and Morrison, he still felt alone. But I really feel like after this moment, when he realizes Nero is related to him somehow, and when he finally realizes it later on, he starts to get his angst back, He finally has a piece of his brother and his family back.
Honestly from how he was at the beginning of the fight, I'd bet you're onto something. Not knowing Vergil is alive and finding his son, it's be like a piece of him lived on. Seemed to perk him up a bit.
When Dante crash down and shoots the pope. His demeanor is very serious and somber. He doesn’t even care that he did a heinous act in public, by the cold look in his eyes. Doesn’t really taunt or makes quips when the guards attack him. Even when Nero drop kicks him and they have their Mexican stand off, Dante still has a pretty serious look on him. But as he fights Nero, his silent persona starts to crack, he starts to exhibit emotion the more they fight. Small moments like Dante playfully mimicking revving his sword like Nero, to him actually final speaking when acknowledging Nero arms unique power, and even when he gets throw across the room to causal proportion his body to sit on a bench in comedic fashion. These are all signs he’s having fun with this fight, and probably spark a familiar feeling he probably hasn’t felt in years. I love the idea that Nero is the reason that Dante started to act like his old happy good lucky self again.
I think that perfectly illustrates the differences between these two characters right away. Dante with his insults and playful nature, Nero with his hotheadedness and aggression.
@@Helios810 Really? An atheist? He makes a career out of fighting supernatural beings but doesn't believe in god? Even though he has met devils and angels?
@@ulquiorraschiffer1956 I think Dante let Nero fight with Vergil cause he knew they wouldn't end up killing each other now that they now they're father and son
@The atomic Tube 44 That's literally incorrect. She said that when he had his arm severed, and that was before she understood the gravity of the situation. The phone call happens after that's already occurred. None of your assertions really have any merit. The rest of that is irrelevant nonsense.
@The atomic Tube 44 She didn't know that Credo was a demon, nor was she aware that even Angus was a demon. She wasn't trying to depress him at all, she was just shocked at the revelation of what Nero was, and whe still wanted Nero to aid her. It makes sense that she was conflicted at the revelation that Nero was a creature like the ones the Order is sworn to hunt, but she never stopped loving him. She didn't do what you propose in 4, and especially not in 5, since you completely switched the order of two events. It is. It's full of unsourced statements, and personal anecdote. Also. the fact that you claim to be a "sociopath" (which u honestly doubt. You're probably joking.), immediately drops credibility. Regardless, have a good one. See ya.
I can't believe how even to this day the graphics of this game are still awesome. This game is so old but yet no matter how much time passes it can be played with no problem.
The fact that Nero can keep with Dante despite having one of his arms in a cast is really impressive. Also, the fact that his first real encounter with his uncle is drop kicking him in the face is hilarious.
@@shawziiz5031 Dante even go as far as to call him deadweight in DMC5. Nero haven't formed his real devil trigger, yet. When he turn devil trigger, its just a shadow. This Nero is incomplete.
@@phloriaernas2149 His deadweight status in 5 is mainly because of his reduced arsenal of demonic abilities. Even if he'd only lost Yamato, he'd still have his Buster which already puts him above Early DMC3 Dante strength wise. That and Dante himself was no match for Urizen. Also that Dante wanted him to stay out of it since he didn't want Nero to have to face his own father. Surprisingly, Nero was actually the first one to even do any damage to Urizen. And this was after a whole month of Urizen recovering and growing stronger.
Ahh there it is at 12:30....This is what Dante meant in DMC5 when he said he suspected Nero's biology when he first met him. 'Though i suspect you carry something different from the others'...Meaning Nero carries the blood of Sparda. Guess he pieced together He's Virgils kid afterward. Some nice continuity in the DMC series. Love it.
I remember there was one video where this guy would comment on every video of dmc saying nero was not virgil son and there is not proof. Even tho everyone else including myself told him the similarities and he still said no proof. Wonder how he feels now
@@jeneralgod He suspected him in their first meeting with his Devil Bringer's reaction, not to mention demons can feel each other. When he saw the reaction of Yamato and how Nero was kind of power lusty, well, he said "yes, this is mah nephew"
Some have theorized that he was like that in DMC 2 because of Vergil's demise and got his old self back once he saw Nero and realized he still has some family left But since DMC 4 has some flashbacks with cool Dante this is really debatable
RawAustin Nope, that has been changed by capcom themselves.Just a few days before DMC5's release capcom said that they change the order of the story and that DMC2 takes place right after the anime and before DMC4
Standing here I realize you are just like me trying to make history but who's to judge the right from wrong when our guard is down I think we both agree That violence breeds violence but in the end *IT HAS TO BE THIS WAY*
(Flashback to childhood) (Vergil practicing swords with Dante and then getting pissed after Dante cheap shotted him with a punch) Vergil: VERY WELL BROTHER, I WILL MAKE DIGEST THE VERY DIRT THAT SURROUNDS YOU (as he’s punching Dante into the ground)
i personally prefer the brutal style Nero has. The brute force approach just looks much more devastating. Dont get me wrong Dantes combat is amazing in it´s own right, but the simplicity of stomping your enemy in the concrete and rip them in half is to satisfying
I've always been a fan of the characters who let their anger control them during a fight. Dante is all about styling and not caring at all, but Nero never holds anything back. If you get him pissed, you're done.
@JUST WAIT, AND WATCH! I literally mentioned what happened with Urizen. That after Nero got his Devil Breakers, he was more powerful than Dante at the start of 5 and in 4. Not only that, but Nero currently has the strength to match both Dante and his Brother. Hence why Nero was not only able to hold BOTH of them back when charging at each other full force, but also thoroughly kick Vergil's ass.
The dmc 4 opening is so fucking absurd like you’re going to church, a bit bored but otherwise alright, and then Jesus jumps through a skylight and shoots the Pope.
Dude this game STILL holds a special place in my heart. It’s the first DMC I ever played! Beat it like 10 times! And I was in the first grade when that happened. I will always love DMC!
This was the first one I was able to beat! I loved this one. I played DMC3 first but was so bad at it I could only goof around and my older brother had to beat it.
Nero punching Dante so he launches away, running so fast that he catches up to him midair, then grabbing him and punching his head into the floor is so fucking awesome and the best part is this series does crazy shit like that all the time
