@@wolffire5421 Even though Metal Gear Rising is one of my favourite games, I have to give the win to Dante and Vergil for this one. The double trouble "fuck you" combo of Dante and Vergil could take down every boss in MGR at once.
That ending is the most logical to me, like Dante is tired from SDT and Vergil uses that to hit him, only way to explain Dante getting hit by that sucker slash
sqying that vergil is and "ideal" rival is an opinion, not a fact. personally, I don't really care for vergil or any of the chracters in the series. none of them really move me
Fun fact: the original vergil formula was actually a character from a 80s tokusatsu series kamen rider black, his name is shadow moon, he's the brother of the protagonist, has contrasting colors, has cool sword, even has the same quest for power and loss of humanity, it's absolutely insane how similar they are, he even has moments in the show where he literally becomes an approaching storm. My theory is the dmc devs saw kr black when they were young and took inspiration for the creation of vergil.
The music fits this whole fight and the relationship between the sons of Sparda. Absolutely beautiful! I'm just disappointed no one else has made a comment on this.
I know that I am REALLY late but as said lower in comments Sam’s theme is perfect for Vergil: Memories broken the truth goes unspoken (Urizen and Mundus broke Vergil’s memories and V lied to others just to survive) I’ve even forgotten my name (When V and Urizen united Vergil was confused about himself if he wants power or not? Was his whole life till this point was a mistake, in lust for power he lost himself and had a strong consequence by becoming the Nero Angelo and years of suffering so when he came back in dmc 5 he finally realised. *He forgot who he truly was*) I don’t know the season or what is the reason I’m standing here holding my blade (Like I said earlier Vergil lost himself and forgot who he was. He completely lost his Motivation and reasons for fighting but later was known that it’s the only thing that he knows what to do right) Deserted place without any trace it’s only the cold wind I feel (One on one fight with no one to interrupt while cool wind is blowing. That’s how Vergil wants to fight) It’s me that I spite as I stand up and fight (V realised that he did many bad things but he just kept going. That’s why he said he hated himself in game) The only thing I know for real there will be blood shed (Vergil is fighting Dante for no reason and doesn’t know why but he knows that this battle will not end well for one of them) The man in the mirror nods his head (Vergil realised that he turned himself a monster just for power but just accepted it) The only one left will ride it upon the dragon’s back (Dragon can mean victory. Vergil realised that only one of them will live after this fight) Because the mountains don’t give back what they take (It can be interpretated as Vergil’s past mistakes that won’t give him peace) Oh no there will be blood shed It’s the only thing I’ve ever known (First 19 years of his life he tried to survive by killing and fighting, he had an unhealthy rivalry with Dante since he was young, he fought for power and Mundus just to survive. Fighting and killing was the only thing he known for most of life)
Continuation: Losing my identity Wondering have I gone insane (Vergil realised that he WAS insane because of his lust for power and that he lost himself) Goodbye the truth and promise I was climbing this mountain’s way (In his quest for power he lost his honor and good parts of himself) And I’m looking from this deadly height and never realising why I fight (Vergil: Was this all for nothing. I have my power but it feels so empty. Was Dante always right. What did I truly achieve with my actions. Why am I even trying to fight anymore if my life and goal meant absolutely nothing.)
sam and vergil are both characters that obsess over self improvement over everything else, and since sams theme was made to fit sam, it would be natural for it fit vergil
Yeah, he could sheathe his sword and do a red judgement cut around himself. Once you beat the game and get the Muramasa (Probably butchered the name) you can learn that skill and do it yourself.
The crippling lack of money in Dante’s wallet. Just as Senator Armstrong’s views shaped Raiden to what he is after their fight, the lack of money after each adventure shapes Dante’s bank account.
Mundus vs Vergil. Mundus: Time for your final interview. Mundus after breaking Yamato and about to turn Vergil into Nelo Angelo. Mundus: The job's yours. Welcome aboard.
The song's lyrics somewhat represent Vergil as well as Sam. He's doesn't directly know why he's fighting because he's only here as it was Urizen doing the work for power, and V chose to fuse with him to survive. (Memories broken, the truth goes unspoken) And the Urizen and V situation on him forgetting who he is. (I've even forgotten my name)
Nice Job . You are making DMC5 great again. Although it will be better if you choose the moment of the song For example The moment of sin devil trigger (There will be blood The moment you counter Vergil (blood shad~~~ The best part of the music is when the game change or did something nice The music will follow. And that why DMC&Samuel is the best because nanomachine son
@@specialtyspider8228 I mean... That's sort of how the music worked in MGR. When Sam loses his sword, the lyrics stop. When he gets it again they come back.
I loved Revengeance and I've been wanting to play a DMC game for the longest time because the gameplay looks very similar to Metal Gear Rising. Only thing is, I don't know if I should start from the first DMC game and work my way up to five.
you can mix these sound tracks to their opposing games and can barely tell the difference between the high octane feeling you get when these songs start playing during boss fights. hell, if you told me 'bury the light' was raiden's theme, I would believe you. they need to make a sequel for mgr.... pvq
It goes more with Japanese Fight's Or good old friends/enemies Fight's Combo is brasily boi with red Japanese katana sword thing that laughs in the middle of a fight and he is your old enemy.
Vergil was in hell, he was Nelo Angelo, somehow survived, separated his dying/afflicted self in two, then he was rejoined in a seemingly younger/healthier body. Dante, meawhile, was living and aging steadily to become wacky woohoo pizza man we love today.
Just because it fits with the fight, it doesn't excuse the game's shitty character redesigns and the introduction of the worst supporting character in the series.
@@frozenstar8050 No it isn't. The character redesigns were shit, the robot arm angle was overrated garbage that pissed all over the epic journey of character development Nero experienced in DMC4, and Nico was a fucking trainwreck of a character who the series would have been better without.
