Imagine a giant, horrifying monster is chasing you. You then run into an even more terrifying monster that stands between you and the other monster. This is kind of what it felt like seeing this scene
@@lucaswibisono1316 Dante and vergil were establishing who would be the true ruler of the underworld just by staring each other down you know if they wanted to actually rule it That scene was like badass incarnate
I just want to point out something interesting about the cutscene: Dante doesn't flaunt or flourish his Devil Sword. With every other Devil Arm he found/gained/won, He played around with them. But when he summons Devil Sword Dante? He simply unleashes its ability, Creating a ring of swords in front of him and roars as he levels it to his side. Dante isn't messing around anymore, Focusing on defeating his brother. The only other time I've seen Dante this pissed, is when Trish protected him From Mundus' attack, Prompting him to unleash the full power of Sparda.
I wish this game was about him wanting to protect Nero and not having a squabble with Vergil. They never showed off any kind of Uncle Nephew dynamic. I don't even think Dante has ever acknowledged Nero as being family.
@@alastor8091 He does. Before the second fight with him, he says that Yamato has to stay in the family. At the end, he lets Nero keep it. Nero, unknowingly, proved himself to his uncle.
@@Shadow0Heart1 that's not a direct acknowledgement, not like how Nero directly calls Vergil "father" or how Urizen called Dante "brother". Dante never explicitly exhibits a familial connection with Nero. He hangs out with Lady and Trish, calls Vergil his brother, called Urizen his brother, but it's almost like he has no actual connection with Nero. He spends the entire game either talking down to or berating him and did the same thing up until the end of 4. Man, Nero really was an after thought in this series.
@@Shadow0Heart1 hold up, I just remembered how that played out, he didn't even acknowledge Nero then. He said the sword was Vergils before saying it needs to stay in the family. After the fight, he says Nero can keep it, but at the end when he tells Nero to take it with him, it's in the context of being a gift from him, not that he's part of the family.
@@alastor8091 Dante lets Nero keep the Yamato because he knows his family weapons would be linked to his heritage. He KNOWS Nero is his nephew but doesn't bring it up because it's not his place to. I personally believe Dante knew Vergil would come for the Yamato eventually, he just didn't anticipate Vergil's devil side beating the fuck out of him and almost killing him.
Gave me straight chills. Dante, for all his taunting and demeaning of his enemies, never curses. It's just not in line with his fun loving, don't show that you care personality. Then he says this to Urizen. It physically hurt me to see Dante so angry, even though it was totally justified in that familiar clash of ideals.
@@LostCourage "Dante, you dare approach me in that form?" "I can't stinger the shit out of you without getting closer." "OH HO! Then come as close as you like."
@@LostCourage "Oh? You are approaching me in that form? Instead of facing me in normal DT mode, you come right at me with that overpowered asspull?" "I cannot deal massive damage to you without getting close" "Ho Hooo. They come as close as you want!" *Dante Stinger into 100 stings* ORA tbh i also allways think of dio when i hear him say it.
