I didn't like DMC4 Dante moves. When I play DMC4 as Dante I get bored after a while.. But everytime I replay DMC3, it's too damn fun. I just started again DMC3 without healt upgrades and it is awesome. If DMC4 had the same Dante and if it was harder (enemies are too easy to kill even at DMD) then maybe it could be as good as DMC3.
Sol Badguy You mean crazy combo? Yeah I am disappointed that they didn't put that in 4, too. And there are many ideas they didn't keep on 4, like surfing enemies, Crazy combo when keep shooting enemy which is lie on the floor, climb on the wall with Trickster...Etc. And full armors to defense is cool in 4 but I like triple magic circles in 3, too.
yeah forget about that,from now on its gonna be a dmc 1 style of fighting where its just basic combos performed by new players in the series.Good thing i left the franchise after 4,aint interested in something boring as nero

tail bite DMC 2 had horizontal wall run, while 3 didn't. It looks like further Itsuno goes more stuff he is throwing out. Here is hope 5 will have certain features back.
Sol Badguy Yeah, that's great. But honestly, I think of it as part of that unique Dante, who barely had control of his power, and was basically bursting with extra strength, which is reflected in all of his moves.
Yeah, this guy never did the button mash for non crazy combos in this video. Even propshredder and many other moves could be extended with button mash.
Kareem Russell Imo no when you press both circle and square which is the style and the shoot button he’ll continually shoot until he reaches the ground when you just mash the fucking button for the style he’ll stop midway flight and its kinda annoying sometimes when he did that
I liked 3 the most it looks better visually less anime more realistic but 4 obviously has more advanced graphics. But DMC3 is my favorite game in the series.
0:49 funny thing is if you perform Shredder in DMC3 by mashing the style button the duration is just as long as it is in DMC4! Not kidding boys and girls just found that out recently!
I don't agree with it, DMC3 's gameplay is better than DMC4, DMC3 has more weapons, more bosses, and the level design is better than 4, the only thing DMC4 better than DMC3 is you can change Dante's style in the game.
@@frankxie9882 Don't forget enemy design is magnitudes better and difficulty doesn't revolve around Dante's clunkiness (he is clunky as hell in 4) but in actually using all the tools you're given in creative ways. Also DMC4's enemies are so freaking resistant to stun against Dante's attacks because they're designed around Nero's DB...
One thing I have to give 4 the clear win on is the charge up on gilgamesh. The charge states are much more clear and have a distinct punch to them rather than beowulf's little flash.
Adam J. Harper Eh, gotta give that one to Gilgamesh too. I like how it was just a pure shockwave of force in DMC4. Other then that, Gilgamesh did get some new moves but lacked anything for in the air.
DMC 3 is epic and more powerfull especially fast tab key combo which that will release golden circles for Dante (each devil arm have 2 of this golden circles combos and each gun 1). I want to see this moves in DMC5..sadly did not happened.
Rebelion DMC4 wins Beowulf DMC3 wins DMC3 guns damage wins, in DMC4 guns have useless damage, they are more for utility, except charged shot from Nero Gun. Trickster style was better in DMC3, three dodges. DMC4 style switch wins, DMC3 don't have switch system. DMC4 guard style wins because of transformation ;p DMC4 transformations wins because it give you something extra, not just a small boost like it was in DMC3. Where is Agni I rudro, I'm a big fan of two swords, and they had a elemental power :P
As we look down the barrel of dmc5 I have come to realize that although I am excited, I wish they would have changed up his Rebellion combos. I remember being excited for dmc3 and watching all those gameplay trailers and looking forward to playing around with all of these fresh new combat system. Especially coming off of dmc2s lack luster sword combat. Then dmc4 rolls around and Dante's move set is not only similar, but they actually removed a couple options from the Rebellion move set. And now, with all the dmc5 Dante gameplay out there for our viewing pleasure, we can clearly see he is just rehashing the same move set all over again. Going from dmc1 to 2 to 3 as a kid, part of the fun for me was looking forward to what tricks Dante may have up his sleeve in a new entry. But I guess out of all the awesome, bombastic things Dante can do with any and all given weapons, we will forever be relegated to preforming Tri, Tri, Tri and Tri... Tri, Tri on the Rebellion. Dantes most iconic and most versatility devil arm at his disposal. IDK, still stoked for 5, just felt like sharing some slight dismays of mine.
I donno why but dmc3 feels more dark and realistic and I feel more and more immersed into it whereas dmc4 with all that glow and stuff gives me less of that nostalgic dmc3 feel .. I can't remember the word for that feeling :3 but dmc4 is less creepy and doesn't have that element of psychological stress which dmc3 has and that's bad news for me .. I'd really like them to recreate the environment which dmc 3 provided with better graphics .. maybe a remastered version? .. Maybe it's just because of the theme change
DMC 5 has NOTHING on DMC 3. Any real DMC fan knows that you can't just go up agains't DMC 3 and DMC 1. DMC 4 had the best combat engine. DMC 5 hasn't come out yet, so I might be quick to judge here, but there is no way in hell that it'll surpass 3. Why? Because in DMC 2 and DMC 4 they wrecked, bulldozed and buried the Devil May Cry story. With DMC 5, the director himself is trying to salvage the franchise, which we can see mainly from the fact that DMC 5 is set AFTER DMC 2, so they're accepting DMC 2 cannonically. Too bad it's got MTX, might have actually been a good game without it. Heck it still might be a good game, just it's not getting close to DMC 3. No way lol. You clown that started Devil May Cry from DMC 4/ DmC can sit this argument out, we don't really consider your group as the core fan group.
Veo mucha polémica por el tema de la jugabilidad y hasta de la gráficas, es increíble esto. Creo que el 3 con el tema de la jugabilidad de dante hizo a muchos gustar mas de este, y el 4 mejoro este aspecto. Creo que el 4 es mejor en graficas y jugabilidad, esto es indiscutible y claro es una consola mas avanzada, no es de extrañar. lo que seria discutible es cual es mejor en historia o diseño de jefes o banda sonora. Pero discutir por cual es mejor en jugabilidad o graficas cuando es casi la misma y se supone que el 4 es una version mejorada en dante y vergil, no tiene sentido.
Veiregor O' Real nah fam, DMC 3 still have more combos and arsenals than 4,but the reason why 4 is better obviously because of the style switch. If 4 don't have that, then 4 would be screwed.
Vergil's ceiling is only slightly lower than Dante's but he's far easier to use and he can also use the distortion trick for even more damage on most of his moves, most notably any of Beowulf's just-charge moves and especially Dragon Breaker. Judgment Cut End is also surprisingly safe - Invincible after startup, and you can dodge/trick/jump out of the startup at any point. Heavy Sword Rain is also a great on-demand stun provided you have at least one DT orb and it stuns the enemy just long enough to pull of JCE.
DMC 4 combat is overhyped. Its clunky. the enemies are terrible in game (no stagger) so experimenting involves passive play style.. Or Bloody palace there's a reason people dont do mission playthroughs as often as DMC3. I believe people are under the impression that because it looks better... its better, but that is not the case. Clunkiness includes the extremely wide enemy hitboxes, and in all five entries that I've played.. DMC4 dante might be the only version where you can literally miss your opponent without trying to. The system is also convoluted... not sure why dante just cant pick a style at the damn statue. Advance combat now relies more on Teleport spam and Vergil Trick than jump cancelling, etc. Sad day
LIQUID SNAKE for the sake of not making Dante overpowered than he already is they stick with the 4 style. imagine if Doppleganger and Quicksilver was added in DMC4 the game would become Way too easy
I was expecting like sikiro and FFXV the old kings bosses (old wall) fights. Let him be powerful and You'll have to do something to enemies and game mechanics.. Hope I make sense. I was expecting not to be downgraded. Just like DMC 2 he's too powerful and thats not a mistake what mistake they did is the enemy and bossess to compliment it or balance it. whew. hard to explain it.
Dreadnaught sucks though. Takes a while to activate, forces you to walk, doesn't last long, and relies on the Royal Gauge. Ultimate was faster, could be used whenever you wanted to, and lasted about the same time, though the invincibility was directional.
Dreadnaught form take time to activate and it will be interrupted if taking damage unless in DT form..that's why I prefer charge and release..the game engine is fun for both even though style switcher is hard to master
Does Devil May Cry pay homage/take inspiration from Final Fantasy, or is there a certain type of greek/nerd lore that they both derive from? i.e; Sephirothic Fruit, Gilgamesh, etc.
If dmc4 dante had quicksilver and doppleganger and perfect dt the game will be better than dmc3 Ps: it's a shame that they took away tornado and zodiac and hyper fist
Movesets are on the wikia. The move you're looking for is Dance Macabre. The command is a Stinger motion with Circle (or whatever you set the Style button to) in Swordmaster, mashing the button to keep the combo going.
I know about it but that's an unofficial PC mod, not everyone plays on PC. While 3 gives Dante more melee moves weapons and styles, 4 gives more overall potential style. Not to mention the destructive potential of Pandora, DT explosion and wall run are sadly missed however. Rebellion got an improvement in 4 with the ability to throw Drive waves 3 at a time instead of 1, and less style button mashing on Dance Macabre and Prop Spin. Actually all returning special moves require you simply to hold the style button instead of mashing intensely within a short time frame. All the best DMC players say 4 is a tad slower than 3 though, jump cancelling is harder and most moves are straight up slower as seen in this video.
