Love your videos. Checking out your videos getting some great places to hike. Will definitely hike this route. Driving up to Canmore from Northern California early next month. Planning to stay for 2 weeks. Hope to bump into you some day. Thanks for all the great videos!
Hey! There, great videos! I’m going to be up there for 3 days for the very first time. So, What top 3 hikes you recommend? 😃 totally sold on devil’s thumb. 👏👌 so hard to decide really🙈
Keepin' It Slick Hi! My top 3 hikes are Mt. Temple, Smutwood peak and Mt. Shark. However, it has been snowing in the Rockies recently. So, it’s winter weather condition already. The top 2 is very hard and risky to climb due to the snow. Devil’s Thumb is awesome! It’s easy and has great views! When you come, make sure that you pack clothes and gears to prepare for the winter condition. Like a packable thin down jacket and micro spikes even! Hope this helps! Enjoy your stay here! You’ll love here!😜
@@kaylaslifeincanada6321 thanks for getting back to me, really appreciate the info. Hopefully, the 20 degrees sunny does justice at my arrival lol. Nonetheless, I was thinking, Day 1 - the onion, Day 2 - The temple or Atleast until the pass lol, Day 3 - Devil’s thumb. Do you think it’s a super crazy schedule? Like I’m not too experienced, but always love to challenge myself. It’s always been a dream going to the Rockies! For a first time, I wanna do this right.
Keepin' It Slick I’ll say the schedule is not crazy crazy at all! It all depends on your fitness level! The onion is awesome and not so hard at all. With the weather condition right now, you should totally be able to do it. Summiting MT. Temple might be a bit crazy due to the snow condition. However, getting to the pass or Larch Valley is definitely doable and has great views of larch. Devil’s thumb as I said it’s easy and with great views in Lake Louise area! I think that you have got a great plan! Just make sure that you pack enough clothes and be careful!
It should be totally fine as Devil’s thumb is not so high in elevation! Let me know your experience afterwards! I bet that you will definitely enjoy the view! 😊
nazmulcanada Actually it’s not wrong way. It’s the right way if you want to do a loop. It’s just quite challenging but manageable. It depends on your skill level. However, it is definitely not recommended to the less experienced scramblers.
