You weren't wrong about crucifixions being in mostly only Catholic churches, most other religions use just a cross. I grew up very religious, Catholic and Baptist mostly, but after my deployment to Iraq I just couldn't believe anymore. No disrespect to anyone's beliefs, that's just me. What I saw had me thinking either God doesn't exist or if he does he is a real asshole. That's also why the first half of this rap had me emotional too. I would wonder why some of the best soldiers I knew died but I lived.. wishing I could go instead and they could come back.. that shit fucked with me for a long time and it still creeps back in sometimes. I identify with this song, I get him in some way... my dad died and he was a pure soul, he was everything to me and his brother that's a child abuser and a drug adict who's destroying his life basically trying to kill himself is still alive, and I always asked myself why my dad had to go and my ass of an uncle who ruined my life is still alive.
