This takes me right back to the 1980's when this was a flexi-disk included in Guitar Player magazine. It was the first time I conciously heard any Allen Holdsworth. I played the heck out of that flexi-disk.

Good God!! That solo. Normally, I'm infuriated when guitarists take liberties covering Holdsworth... However, although this solo was different to the original... it was equally as stunning!!! My mind is officially blown.
I thought, if he plays the solo exactly how Allan did on the studio recording, I would be disappointed, because Allan likely improvised the solo on the spot. But it does sound like he improvised it too.
