@@VAC2 You can't say that the music they make is trash. But, knowing that it is THE ALMIGHTY DEVILDRIVER making that music kinda sucks because we all know their true capacity (of making legendary songs like this one is). If it was some other band performing songs that DEVILDRIVER made since beast, they would be praised.
the fury of our maker's hand was worth the money without a doubt. can easy be played first track to last track and every song is purely brilliant. if you haven't picked this album up yet you should strongly consider it.
Dig deep dig in deeper you go where only fools fear to tread You'll find devices to kill your master why not kill your maker instead Leave it to the ones that own you leave it to those ones to Disown you put faith & trust in the dusk Do what you must do I'm getting edgy for those departed left all alone left still forgotten! Miles to go and sky's to fly Hold back the day Miles to go and sky's to fly it's darkest before the Dawn Claw hard now from your casket Six feet and getting deeper should the top, Soil feel Heavy it must be getting weaker Towers people build, Up in life become frail and fall to the ground Fuck them there opinion Deceiving the Honest Man! I'm getting edgy for those departed left all alone left still forgotten! ALways ,always ,darkest before the dawn Miles to go and sky's to fly Hold back the day Miles to go and sky's to fly it's darkest before the Dawn
Ozzy:" Back in the old days of Metal, eating a bat still living didn't gave you Mutated Human/Bat viruses.... It just made you a Roackstar !" Beware the Bat/Man
They all do this usually music videos are basically just acoustic jam sessions so they look like they’re jammin out I bet the filming routine is hilarious
This is the song that got me into DevilDriver. I remember hearing it at a metal nightclub and wondering what the song was called and for the longest time tried to find it. Since then I’ve just loved listening to DevilDriver.
i use to listen to coal chamber quite a bit when they were still around and came across DD just by chance when i went to see straight line stitch live. devildriver came out as the final band and seeing Dez at the lead was enough to hook me.
I remember when I was in class I was making a presentation for my class listening to this and a friend of mine pulled the aux cord from my laptop and this song continued playing while the entire classroom was quite and looking at me like I was the spawn of Satan their expressions was priceless
I met them at the motocultor festival in France, talked a bit with Bradley. These guys are so cool and relaxed. Huge respect for the fans, still one the best metal bands live. All Hail DevilDriver. Love from France. This song is in my personal Pantheon
To me Devildriver is one of those bands like Iron Maiden where honestly there's no reason not to like them even if you're not into metal.Mandatory fandom or gulags! >:3
@@Thiago-sw1ty 5 years later,I'd totally agree.I don't know wtf happened to em but it happened pretty hard. Kinda reminds me of Van Halen where they're so good coming out the gate but very quickly lose whatever they had after the first album or three.
This is totally inspired by Black Sabbath's classic Paranoid video. It's actually funny seeing a modern metal song done in this style. Sounds awesome. Makes it harder to take seriously when seen like this, though. Still, props for creativity.
Yeah it really does... This video looks as if the guys went to the recording saying make the shittiest video ever and than be so fucking metal that it is cool again :D
Heinz Heinz Haha, pretty much. I think the video director simply said, "let's shoot the band playing the song in front of a greenscreen and figure it out from there."
Much as they try, I still personally feel that this was the pinnacle of their career... every album since hasn't matched it's songwriting and execution imo. Oh well... still a good band, just wish they could put together another solid album from start to finish like this one.
True , I dont like their new album Winter kills but I do love their older albums. Many metal bands have their pinnacle at the start of their carreer and fail to put out the same music as they used too which is sad sometimes.
@@fataloath i think it is, in a way the song could be a remember of death or it could just the remember to enjoy your day before it gets over :), i think sometimes it leans to the 2nd one and the to the 1st one i guess you can take both as they are really duality like everything. To death there is life and to life there is death
This song has helped me so much. ''It's always darkest before the dawn'' Simple words, but when you're at you lowest, it travels a long road into the mind and helps.
Nothing better than having this as my ringtone. Always grabs attention from other people. Love the awkward looks I get from them. Fuck em. Awesome song and awesome band! (Look it up on Zedge for ringtone)
+Jonathan Michaels heh! it's good but I have Treason by Threat Signal or AXIS by Mask of Judas as mine... Joe's singing on AXIS is insane (I highly recommend them) :)
Jonathan Michaels hehe Jon and Travis are on my flatmate's upcoming death metal album :P - they're really nice guys (met the lot of em last time they played in London - had a coupla beers whilst watching The Agonist) Aye MoJ are also awesome ;) a little biased as I'm friends with them but Joe (the singer) has a phenomenal voice, she can do Angela Gossow style death growls and Amy Winehouse style clean singing :)
+Bill Gates Dude that's awesome! Threat Signal are from Hamilton and not far from me at all. I need to catch a show in the hometown, probably gonna be a wild mess haha
fair play :P wouldn't mind visiting canuck territory at some point :) - hopefully he'll have something on disc or youtube soon but for now it's all on his laptop aha
Dudes, this was the first ever clip i watched when my buddy recommended DD years ago... I was like *how the fu*k did i not hear of these guys before!?)Went to see 'em 4 times and *no 5* is coming up next Sat! Can't wait... crowd goes sick for them & moshpits are awesome fun! >_< \m/
Devildriver prior to beast was incredible. Not sure what happened after that album but I just can't understand how they went from this to the shit they've produced since
Absolutely inspiring; I usually don't do these type of little relations on youtubes but for DevilDriver I make an exception. I was in a fit of depression and self destruction until I heard my first DevilDriver tune. The lyrics speak to me on a level not many bands can accomplish, and especially in the death metal genre. The uplifting and empowering lyrics show me there is a lighter side to things; in short... thank you DevilDriver.: )
I've had a few of this bands songs on my spotify playlist for some years. Never looked into them. Was shocked when I saw the video at first until i read the comments. This band really rocks!
Where is the music in the 2020s? Fucking gone... all the good mnusic was in the 90s and early 2000s... Thank god I was I alive back then to listen to this shit ;.)
Good old times when Dez wore baggy pants and Devildriver was a superior band. Now Dez in narrow pants and .... you know. Inspiration is kinda squeezed.
Could this be an homage to Black Sabbath - Paranoid? I'm not a fan of old metal, but I know that video was shot and edited very similar to this. Devildriver's drummer is even wearing a Black Sabbath shirt.
I do get that performing death metal live takes a major toll on the throat. I just hate it when dez has to revert to normal voice on this song live sometimes. I get he has to, it just still takes away some of the energy
