Good lesson. Part of this makes you make figure 8s with the bow. Hard to learn. One thing, if you started showing the scale in A, you should say "This is the ABCs of playing the A scale". A great dad pun.

Another good instrument to aid in violin/fiddle is the mandolin it has frets and chords and chord progressions can be learned. If you get a mandolin be sure and start on it using the correct fingers for the notes being played.

Great video! I love Devil's Dream, it's pretty easy to play once you get the feel for it! Also, have you ever thought about including the sheet music for the song in the description of the video? Maybe a link to a .PDF file of the song you are teaching so we can download it and see what we're working with while we're following along with you?

Id love to learn this. I bought one years ago and gave up. I play pedal steel guitar and in my opinion the fiddle is way harder

Do those books you have teach those cords and keys you speak of? I have zero musical experience or knowledge. Still trying to wrap my head around what all that even is. Do you suggest learning piano first to understand music? I can play some things that i have memoized. Just don’t understand it all yet. Doesn’t help that i am 35 and just learning now. Most books i have are for violin and don’t cover any of this fiddle stuff.

The closing for the first part...does anyone have the notes for this? I've played it back over and over, but still can't catch them all. Thanks!
