That's a bit of a stretch. I was an obsessed Bears fan that year. He was a key weapon, but he didn't single-handedly take them to the Super Bowl. I love Hester, but I also don't think enough credit was given to the whole return team that year. They gave him some great blocking.
I'd give anything to have kickoff returns back to the way they were. The injuries on kickoffs were not bad enough to Nurf a very exciting part of football
So glad this was posted. Obviously his return TDs are great to watch but some of his returns that didn’t go all the way were just as exciting. His acceleration, ability to slip tackles and maintain speed while changing directions were just alien.
Devin is FAST but his true skills was his lateral movements and how fast he got up to his top speed. When he accelerated he blew past people. IF he had deon sanders speed, OMG
Special team players get no recognition from the NFL. Devin Hester was as impactful as any offensive player cause he's generating so many points that were unaccounted for. There isn't even a best special team player award shit is tragic
This is the greatest return man of all time. He didn’t even score on these but you can tell he can take those returns back better than anyone else ever did.
