Canadian heavy music artist Devin Townsend released his acclaimed new album ‘EMPATH’ in March and will embark on the ‘EMPATH - European Tour Vol. 1’ kicking off this November 15th in Paris.
Since disbanding the Devin Townsend Project Devin has been tracking down players of excellence to form a new live band which he’s now extremely pleased to present.
Several shows have already sold out land most others have just a handful of tickets left on sale. The full list of dates are as follows:

I like the Zappa vibe on this album. It fits very well with Devins style and when I heard about it I thought it would not be a good mix. I could not imagine it working as Devin is so methodical in his playing. He has his thing and it is done to perfection but it is a bit rigid due to the 528Hz tuning. This album opened up new possibilities and even for myself as a guitar player it has me exploring new avenues and coming up with new material I never would have been inspired to write.

Markus Reuter is also part of the King Crimson spinoff "The Stick Men" with Pat Mastelotto and Tony Levin. He also played with the "The Crimson ProjeKCt" that was as close to being King Crimson as possible without being KC itself.

Markus is a superb choice! He's my friend and mentor since 2004, without him I'd have never had my own career in music. He's a genius! I couldn't believe what I heard watching the video, absolutely fantastic, and I'm so happy for both of you and the band! I will definitely come to the show!

This is massive. It makes total sense, and has (in my opinion) been a long time coming. I’m taking my daughter to the London Roundhouse gig as a surprise, early Christmas gift. It’s her first ever gig. I’m even more excited now. Feeling a bit emotional 🥺

Seen the Tilburg show last week, stellar performances from everyone with Dev being the masterly entertainer he is. Was great seeing Haken do the supporting act and Diego staying on, playing what would otherwise be the backing track and mixing cocktails :D This tour is on equal footing with Z2 in RAH.

I URGE you to record EVERY concert, like the King Crimson boys do, and then release the best of the best on bluray. This gathering of musicians is ridiculously good: Ché, obviosly, Mike, Markus (whom I know for his work with Adrian Belew) and then, to top it all, a guy from Haken, one of my absolute favourite bands of all time..wow!!! This is gonna kick all sorts of ass!!!

From watching all the videos leading to Empath, I almost knew when he was announcing his guitar player that it would be Mike Kenneally. Man, the guy has played with so many legends at this point. That is more than enough to know the scope he can cover and the sheer musicianship he has. Man, people will get to see Devin playing live more freely this time. What a privilege! Hope the fans' support will be as overwhelming and awesome as the likely epic outcome of the upcoming concerts!

That is the most poetic justice to your music EVER, though I do understand that sometimes to find people etc. To make the human happen can be tough. Nice to hear this is happening....I hope to be right behind in your music and, also as a inspiration to my own atmospheric music etc...you make me feel comfortable in my skin , on the path of music I am perusing now for production and I have always fought against reservations of what I want to do and if it would make, but you have help me win those battles today especially, and all equals JUST DO IT... I hope this lineup manages to come to the United States. I mainly ever listen to S.Y.L. when it comes to Devin's music. It tends to be my personal taste. But as a mild musician I love the idea of all these talented people in one room. Especially since Morgan has started really peaking my interest over the last year or two. That man is truly one of the most diverse and innovative drummers I have ever heard. So I know it says European tour, but god I hope this bitch comes to the US.

I was praying that I would see 66shamus66 on drums at some time. This drummer has to be one of the best out there that is not that I know touring with a band. Myself being a drummer for 35 years or so rarely see the talent that this man possesses. Please at some time take him on tour with you .

Awesome show in Sweden just frustrated I couldn't make it to more shows in the neighborhood countries. Well Sweden Rock Festival will be great. The Only reason I bought tickets to this stupid expensive festival. They just released the tickets after Devins shows and that festival always sold out in no time. No matter what is on the menu. So that's just a how carried away I got. And hearing that the back catalog are gonna be performed with real musicians in 2021 is just thrilling. And how awesome it is that he have that dedication. Just how can that be possible money wise is mind boggling.
