People of earth, WTF are you doing?, Devin freakin crushes performances like this and no one notices, I’m serious, who else can do this stuff, Devi if you are listening you gotta know you are a true genius keep on keeping on
clean vocal is even better but his fry got "softer" it seems, maybe just a technique change or record, but older version is by little better for me. still the best voice anyway
@@ruslanbaranski5006he’s said in an interview that he doesn’t really like using that voice and he knows it limits his durability, and that he can’t deliver on all his live performances because it’s just not physically possible. I’m paraphrasing but he says this in his interview on The Charismatic Voice. There’s a lot of detail I’m leaving out, it’s a good interview worth watching I may be misunderstanding some of what he said but I think that was the general idea. Was interesting listening to him talk about how he feels about singing.
Devin is an amazing vocalist, but that fucking tone he gets from that guitar... holy shit. Dude's a rhythm monster. Im a rhythm guitarist and just fucking mind blown
Awesome! I like playing guitar a lot myself. There’s an aftermath cover on my channel somewhere🤘😜 FYI, I think heavy devy uses fractal. Not sure the modeling though. He probably sounds great on anything.
The first time I saw Devy with Steve Vai in the ‘90’s on the “sex and religion” tour, I knew for sure that he was destined for greatness. Absolute monster on vocals…
He is losing his voice and using the operatic voice to make it easier on him. Even when he should be using his fry voice and head voice, he is opera. Probably because it is easier to pull the air in. He is saving everything for the "there is no worry i'm fine" sections. He normally distorts the word "without" but not here. He wven changed his head position to pull in the his high fry. It was bound to happen. Love this man, been my inspiration. Have nearly all of his albums. Greatest musician ever.
I like his current live performance a bit better than the syl stuff, even though I like the syl material better as a whole. I can see why he’s made the changes that he has. Do you also have the record he did with Steve Vai, sex and religion? Wasn’t widely accepted as much as Passion, but still pretty cool.
@@3ngi_n33r i do have it somewhere. I remember buying it when it was new. That album is what introduced me Devon\ syl. I really like Empath. It is Devon letting out the repressed SYL. HEAR ME and There Be Monsters are so brutal for DTP.
