After making a new friend on the Little Western, Devious Diesel learns of his troublesome history. Along with how far an old enemy will go to tie up loose ends... I own nothing used in the video.
I just love how many times I saw hidden disappeared/dead engines hidden in the background. It's quite interesting and quite makes the movie feel even more eerie.
Curiouser and curiouser, this episode answers a few questions and brings in so many more. I like the idea of D10's claw being "added" to him when needed, I also like to think his scowl before pulling up Toby was his own frustration of not being able to save another engine from meeting their demise. Nice to see more of D10 as a whole really, he feels like a big centerpiece in this whole mystery. I like that this episode gives us confirmation of the idea Lady is actually possessing/putting the engines she takes in a trance with the conversation between Duck and Diesel, not to mention how his backlamp is suddenly the same as Lady's. Duck's ominous line of "I must be off now, they're.. calling for me, we'll send another.. 'engine' to help you." is a very fascinating hint too, to me it makes it sound like all the engines are still "alive" in a sense, and "help" does indeed come in the form of Oliver trying to kill S.C.Ruffey and Diesel.. so that's really interesting too. I get the feeling S.C.Ruffey was lying to Diesel when he said he didn't see what happened to Donald too, but he's so traumatized and still trying to process the events that he couldn't bring himself to talk about it. I do find it nice that Douglas became a little more caring to the two after what happened to them as well, makes it feel like he's starting to warm up to them a little, though I do feel bad for him about his twin.. This is the second time we see a prayer in action though, with the first being Edward's and it seems to be the only recurring thing that is able to save the engines from whatever trickery Lady is causing, I get the feeling this will eventually tie into the Reverend, being a man of the lord it makes sense now that he will likely be assisting the remaining engines in some way to protect both them and the island. Also wow, 9 years of Oliver missing? That feels like quite the time jump with no one working out what's happening, especially with the soldiers monitoring the place.. perhaps this is because they have no idea when Lady will strike, as she seems to come out every so often to pick the engines off one by one while using the other's to "monitor" the railway for her next target. As a slight side note, I notice it wasn't said where Donald's tender was found which does feel like a crucial piece of information, is it simply implied to have been along the coastline of the Little Western or is that information going to be given in the next installment?
@@daylight39Ah, nice to know that's the case then, I'll be interested to see if that ties in to where Donald may be found. It's really fun analyzing this series and trying to connect the dots honestly, keep up the good work! After rewatching I do have another question though, if you can answer it.. I noticed the diesel that Toby is pushed into the smelters yard with bears a resemblance to the green diesel (D192?) from the first installment "Henry's Forest", is it just the model or is it implied that they're the same locomotive? If so that certainly feels like it's come full loop since the locomotive looks charred with his side vents falling off.
I'll have to go back and look but by what you said is lady's tail lamp on any other engines or is this the first time we've seen that I can't remember any other lit up lamps
@@daylight39 so what happens next right after Devious Disappearances nicely job of The killdane reassignment, The Ffarquhar siren, and The Missing 411 well done to that one that is a my favorite episode 2:49
Now we've lost Duck and Donald, is it must be absolutely terrible for Douglas to lose his brother. I wonder how much faith and prayer play in this series. Scruffy said a prayer that seemed to save him and Diesel from being taken. Going back to the "Missing 411" episode, Edward said a prayer that seemed to prevent him and his crew from being taken at the old lead mine. I'm curious as to why that is. It also seems that whenever "Lady" possesses one of the engines, her tail lamp appears on them, I suspect it has something to do with how the possessed engines teleport around the way they do. I really hope we learn how in the coming episodes.
@@Toaster-iq4wy Oh I definitely agree she is behind all this. I'm just really curious as to how she does the things she can do, and the elements and components of how she does them. As well as what seems to be effective in deterring her. Like we see Duck with Lady's tail lamp when he talks to Diesel in an unsettling tone. This indicates that she could potentially possess the engines and make them do her bidding. And we also see the possessed remains of Oliver be driven off after Scruffy says a prayer to deter him. We see something similar done by Edward in "Missing 411" indicating that faith and possibly the words of God are her Achillies heel. Not sure if my observations are true, but it's fun to theorize.
Not to mention she keeps appearing during bad storms….this might be far fetched, but looking back at the magical railroad movie when mr conductor is having that nightmare of what seems to be a storm destroying sunny time station…is it possible it’s linked to something like that….cause if I remember correctly if the magic of the station goes away all kinds of bad things will happen.
@@linkdancer3890That actually makes a lot of sense. I initially thought that Lady appearing during the storms was because she could use the bad weather as cover when she takes away an engine as it reduces her chances of being spotted. Like in this episode when Duck is taken, he is only visible with Lady's taillight appearing on him, or with Oliver sneaking up on Diesel and Scruffy through the rain and mist at the pear. If it is true that the disappearance of magic from the station makes bad things happen...what happened to the station? Was it destroyed? Did Mr. Conductor die? What is the source that drove Lady to do the things she's currently doing? Because if she keeps doing what she's doing, there won't be any engines left on Sodor.
12:01 Percy seen once D10's brakevan moves away 12:53 And again maybe on the left edge of the screen 13:06 Lady behind Diesel 14:38 Lady's shadow on that bridge arch 15:28 Three vans on the right
One more thing I wish to say. Given how limited his involvement has been so far, I think James is the next target. I do wonder if this universe’s James will fall to mind games played on him, get tricked, or go down swinging? We haven’t seen Spencer yet either. I do wonder if he will come into play. The Little Western is really down on motive power now. So perhaps we see the arrival of Wilbert?
14:38 Check the shadow under the bridge. Lady is first seen. Then a few seconds later, Oliver is seen when Diesel is preparing to leave the shed. I'm sure there are more details like these hidden throughout the episode.
This episode was something. Nice to see Diesel and S.C.ruffy have a role in this. The ending was something. I'm wondering what will happen next? You keep up the great work. Keep up the great work.
I absolutely love this series and the atmosphere it brings. Its simple in execution, but holy HELL does it ever execute that simplicity. It builds up anxiety and tensions so well just by telling its story, and showing a few silhoulettes in the dark here and there. Top class Thomas horror.
We are getting angry Douglas from now on I bet. The Scottish Twins seem to use rage to deal with loss. The question is, will Douglas be a greater danger to himself or to the evil?
I hope we get someone who become a hero and find a spirit who can rescue everyone that is missing. Thomas and Diesel 10 teaming up and tell Lady that lashing out at others will not bring peace. She must let go and move on.
I'm starting to notice how inefficient D10 and the "MoD's" attempts at curbing these anomalies is. Every time they manage to find a corpse of an engine, they fail to ensure that's its completely disposed of. Neither Gordon nor Toby were actualy scrapped. The only thing he's got going for him seem to be that the entities seem afraid of him, though that's questionable and could be attributed to prayer from another nearby character. D10's gonna have to step up his game if he wants to resolve this.
...Well, The MoD's incompetence is due to the fact that they never had a survivor to these attacks... Until Scruffy prayed. Diesel only survived thanks to Scruffy praying, which caused Oliver to be stopped long enough for D10 to arrive and chase off the Possessed locomotive.
In the most recent instalment at the time of writing this "Arthur and the New Engine," the MoD and D10, who's referred to as Warship in his series managed to stop Lady's attempt at capturing James and Arthur, with them praying again. Perhaps things are looking up for the engines and the MoD.
@@clonecoric4140 Arthur and James only really survived because of Proteus. Without him, they'd be done for. Warship failed spectacularly again, losing James. Only luck saved them from #10 in the end. But, at least that's 1 less Decieved. And the MoD one step closer to figuring it all out.
Saying he failed is a bit unfair. He's up against some supernatural threat that doesn't follow the laws of physics and has an army of the undead. That's kind of a difficult enemy to beat when you're still trying to work out the rules of the game.
Stuff you might have missed: 0:26 An engine in the background? 12:00 Percy 4:15 Toby 14:37 Lady shadow under the bridge 15:14 Percy under the bridge 16:20 Something out at sea? (probably just a rock) 17:13 Shadow behind Diesel? 19:18 Oliver? 22:58 ???
Finally got around to (trying to) keep myself up to date on the Forest series here. I love the use of Diesel 10 in this episode with the feature on how Pinchy can be assembled and disassembled. A very military thing to do, actually. I hope we get to see more of the alliance between Diesel and Scruffy which I haven't seem since the TCC's Night of the Diesels and Sodor's Finest. It was funny on how neither Duck or Douglas wanted to go out to fetch Donald so they over looked at Diesel and volunteered him. And the more I think about it, I realize that the taken Oliver and Duck are implied to have the intent of trying to kill those they have a history with, this being Scruffy and Diesel. Because the Taken Duck told Diesel to check the pier where Scruffy was and Taken Oliver then tried to kill both of them. But if that is a theme and when you wonder why Taken Oliver took Toad, then maybe the taken engines also go after those they were close too as well so that means Thomas and Douglas could be the next big targets.
Well, well well, it's almost Halloween, and after spending a day with some real trains, I look forward to seeing the continuation of this amazing series!
Man, the more i think about it, all the members of the little western are real jerks to sc ruffy and diesel. At least they were put in their place in this story.
This has got to be the most unique and interesting take on the Magic Railroad that I've seen in a while. Not only did you make Lady the villain, but she's also got what's basically the SCP foundation coming after her. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
Goodness, there's quite a bit to talk about here. Needless to say, upon first viewing this I did keep my eyes open for any... cameos by *certain* engines presumed deceased, and I was not disappointed. Oliver, Gordon, all the others... to we, the audience, they're not missing by any means. *They're always watching.* On a rather lighter note, I like the character pairing of Diesel and Scruffy. This series so far has had some interesting and unexpected (in a good way) character pairings. You'd probably never imagine Duncan and Stanley from the Mid-Sodor Railway ever meeting and becoming friends, let alone them becoming friends with Lapis, who is from a different series altogether, but it happened. Even in the very first episode, the animosity between Henry and D261 is a scenario you've probably never imagined before, considering we've never really seen the two interact in official media. Same with Diesel and Scruffy, they do have much in common, but it's a pairing you aren't likely to see often. As for some Easter eggs, I liked seeing some of the war memorials along the Little Western. Sealion Beach is an interesting concept. If I had to venture a guess, perhaps in this universe, there was a failed German invasion on Sudrian soil during the Second World War? Project Sealion was, of course, the planned Nazi invasion of Britain. Just a thought however, I don't know how realistic such a scenario would be. I also liked the HMS King Godred I Battleship Park. Battleships are amazing vessels, I've toured a couple former US Navy battleships from WW2 myself. I really like the idea of Royal Navy vessels bearing names related to Sudrian history within the Thomas universe. As far as I'm aware, we haven't yet seen HMS King Godred I on-screen, so I wonder what era vessel she is. A WW1-era dreadnought, perhaps? Overall, I enjoyed this as usual. I hope you'll make a community post like you've done with previous episodes, allowing us to ask questions about it. Hopefully in the next episode, we can see the mystery start to unravel and, in good time, progress to a climactic showdown with the demon herself.
I think I've seen most of them this time, though this is the first mention of Gordon appearing in this episode, do you have a timestamp for where he's spotted?
@@clockwork3494 Oh no, I didn't actually see Gordon, I was just using him and Oliver as examples, saying that while all the engines claimed by Lady are believed missing, they've really been here all this time, watching the others.
I think its interesting how you've made Lady a "villian" in this series and Diesel 10 somewhat of a hero. The way Scrap Oliver fled when Diesel 10 came to the scene was intriguing! Now my questions are, Why is Lady doing what she's doing? How many chapters remain in this series?! And finally, how will it conclude?! The suspense is too much!
Thanks for the feed back. It takes a while for me to write and produce an episode. It means a lot that people enjoy it. I plan on two or three major installments before the finale. Some questions will be answered, others will be introduced.
I knew we were getting something for Halloween!!! Daylight please tell me how i cam support you in this cause my man! I am super excited everytime one for the videos for Henry's forest comes out! if there is anything i can do to help please please let me know bro! This is truly amazing work my friend!
Well, the forest spirits seemed to protect Henry from Diesel 261, but I wonder if the heavenly glow of the express trains means these people aren’t under the evil’s control. They are either good or acting of their own free will, much like Proteus.
I’m gonna guess Edwards actually gonna go missing, it makes sense considering 4, 6, 8 are missing, even numbered engines, with the exception of 7 and 9 so if Edward goes missing that makes 2,4,6,8
I wonder if Douglas will be one of the engines spared from ladies wrath. Because he would recognize that Donald wouldn't be acting as Donald if Lady tried to use him against him. At first he would be fooled, yeah. But I think he'd realize something isn't right with his brother. Here's hoping it isn't too late.
every background easter egg ive spotted atm, because there are a TON this episode: 4:18 - Toby 5:28 - Oliver (inside the shed) 5:35 - P e r c y 8:06, 8:45 - Oliver (inside the shed) 11:41- Oliver (inside the shed, again) 12:02 - Percy 13:06 - Lady 13:19 - Oliver 14:38 - Lady's shadow 15:12 - Oliver's shadow 20:50 - Oliver
Man, i wish you had more views. These series is such a masterpiece! Or dare i say, you're basically has the same creativity like dajara521 back in the old days.
@@daylight39 this is bad we have lost Gordon Oliver toad Toby Percy and now duck and Donald that's 7 engines captured by lady The mod need to stop lady
I believe diesel could’ve saved duck if he had coupled up and dragged him back to the sheds. I also feel really bad for Douglas, he’s lost his twin and his two best friends at this point, it’s extremely sad. I hope Douglas will somehow bring his missing friends back
Okay so there was a lot in this episode to like! Diesel and S.C.Ruffey’s friendship, but the fact that you included some of the disappeared engines in the background, and so on. So, new theory: While I do think that Lady is the leader of whatever is happening, I think that Gordon was Lady’s assistant. If Lady was the puppet master, then Gordon helped moving strings around. However, when Gordon was found with Toad, I suspect that Oliver became Lady’s assistant. However, is not as strong as Gordon, so he gets more engines to make up for this like Percy. And while I’m not sure of this, I believe that Oliver got Duck on their side. Maybe since Diesel joined the branchline, as when Duck tells Diesel to prepare the coastline, you can see Lady’s and Oliver’s shadow on the side of the bridge. Of course, this is a theory, but you never know…
I’m guessing Donald is gonna be the ghost engine looking for his whistle at the smelters in Edward’s story. Donald is my favorite engine, shame he didn’t make it
Quite an ironic twist for Diesel/Bruce and Scruffy to be the heroes of the story in this case, as well as go through their own friendship and redemption starting here especially when scruffy is downright Praying for a safety, that's I can respect. Fitting since there's Stranger Things happening whether alien, supernatural, or Artificial threats by the SCP- I mean rogue military agenda. ( definitely loved the of spludger and Lapis Lazuli Friendship ,even though it's not cannon, it's a nice storyshift of the first Steven Universe x Thomas and friends crossover)
What im getting so far is that every engine that gets taken/disappears by lady gets given a task to forfill, if they agree and forfill it then they suvive and get made a minion of lady or whatever entity is controling her, if they fail or refuse whatever task they get given then will end up dead abd remains found, perhaps olivers task was to bring toad to lady and thats why hes not dead yet?
I just had a thought, and it involves alternative universe connected to soder somehow and engines getting swapped between them :p who knows, I mean Edward did see gorden go down a old unused track and vanish after his dissappearence, that's got to count for something. I'm excited to know what happens as things continue
Not gonna lie I get that all the vines are being killed off but man I’m ready for closure on what happens next. Every time I watch this we’re left with questions. Daylight 3, I’m ready for closure you’re killing me with the suspense.
I think I speak for all of us that your series are one of the most original and expiring of the fandom , I can't wait for the next episode . Maybe Douglas revange ? Also a note What happend to stanley aftes his episode ?and lapiz?
Or a brand new twist the will shift gears in the story like edward going to meet with niel and Stanley but proteus and the reverend show up on board deisel and scruffy and d10
@@daylight39I have one question that is itching in my mind will any other engines other than the book series characters by in this and die or battle lady
After watching this latest episode, I have decided to have a go at a theory. It’s a complicated mess, but here’s a take on it all. This is all just one big inside joke. I have heard people say that Lady was created as Britt Alcroft’s self insert OC, and out of all the engines missing so far due to coming in contact with her are all Awdry engines. Is this a jab at her creative direction that led to the show’s downfall. Who knows? And yes, I know Henry is still around after coming in contact with the light, and the Skarloey engines are still untouched (plus, they are a different gauge entirely), however who is to say future installments won’t expand on this. Who knows? I just think it’s a hilarious take on the whole thing.
At this rate everyone is going to die, there thats the ending to all this crap everyone dies and theres no hero Seriously look at how hes making everyone die, its getting boring.
@daylight question my guy. So i am curious on when we actually get to see the dark engine herself face to face? Maybe in 5-8 episodes later after this? Really amped up about this whole thing! I am also going to put a theory here and honestly i think lady just straight up kills the engines and other objects she meets or goes into contact with. After she does this she reanimates them into mind-controling slaves to help cacth more victims such as using toby to lure Percy and Gordon and oliver luring Edward towards the old lead mine. Thats just my theroy towards this. Honestly cant wait to see who confronts lady first? Diesel 10 or maybe thomas? kinda a call back to the magic railroad here. but one thing i do hope is that lady in the ends gets annihilated by 10
Fair enough on that. I am just curious cause duck and Donald are now gone. Seems like she still has use for Oliver and shown here. I really am getting amped up about this
I have a question. So in the scene where Duck and Diesel are talking at the shed. You can see a shadow of Lady in the background, and then at one point you can see Oliver peaking out by the bridge, and then by the shed. But Duck was clearly facing the bridge. So is it basically that engines and people can’t see Lady or the taken engines, and only we the viewer can. Or is it like engines that are facing away from them could see the taken engines, and Lady, but they just don’t know they’re behind them.
You really need to watch the backgrounds in these videos, Like toby at 4:17 The engine in the shed at 8:07 that moves at 8:43 Percy at 12:00 The engine (that looks like oliver) behind the shed at 15:11 And the engine in the fog at 20:52 and 21:06 I feel like I probably missed some as well but I love the little details In this series
I seen Percy, Oliver, and lady in the background in different scenes. I think I might have saw Fred as well. I just can’t wait till we find out what is happening.
Anyone else beginning to notice a common theme. Lady is going after the original reverend awdry characters and is most likely going after thomas and proteus or thomas and Stanley
It’s mostly the even numbered character 4, 6, 8, 10 with the exception of 7 and Toad (who hasn’t a number) The characters still with us 1, 3, 5, 9 are odd with the exception of 2 and Diesel, the latter of which survived by a prayer by S.C.RUFFY
@@xdiamond7157 but what i think is she's going to kill all the season one characters except thomas the one who help revive her and now Shes acting out after burdett died and lilly never visits with patch so she became lonely and angry and is trying to bring those who she finds worthy and is waiting for her chance to snatch her favorites edward and thomas. but reverend isn't having any of it and is working with a secret scp foundation to help put an end to her death trails.
I really wanna see more involving the taken or possessed engines, it’d be really cool to see where they go and if one was able to escape the clutches of whoever’s doing this, perhaps Oliver or Percy due to them being the most unwilling to give up, personally I’m leaning towards Oliver being that one though, it’d be really cool also to have seen Duck have seen the taken Oliver
First victims were Gordon and Oliver the second was toad only for Gordon and toads body’s found but not Oliver’s the next one was Toby who’s body was then found at the end of episode five the fifth disappearance was Percy who hasn’t been found since and now duck and Donald are now missing as well
Yea im loseing interest in this, its getting stupid and just oh look more engines died, and that just keeps happening, like what's the point?? Like is this series only here to have everyone killed?? He needs to stop this crap and finish and show why all this happened
@@matthewwilson5019 ...There is a connection. First, the Engine responsible for this is Lady... And Lady has ties to Thomas. Perhaps Thomas is the Key to ending this. Second, Devoted Prayers to a Holy being seemed to stall or outright repeal the Dark Engines... And it seems they may not be dead, but possessed, controlled and enthralled by Lady. We also see that when Duck was Enthralled, he has Lady's tail lamp, noted for it's distinctive gold-red glow, so Diesel's testimony may have given the MOD a way to tell of who is controlled by Lady. Finally, Diesel 10 seems to strike fear into the Dark Engines, as Oliver retreated the moment Diesel 10 appeared... Likely due to his Claw. If the Claw was modified by the Reverand, it means it may have been sanctified, a Blessed weapon against the darkness.
