Life is sadly something that can be ruined in percentages of lifetimes. Some lady cheats on you and it smears a horrible stain on perhaps a 1/10 of your lifetime, and you can never get it back. But you can move forward, and not waste the remaining half of your life mourning that loss that only you truly feel. Instead you can find something worth living for, even just to spite the reality in which you were to meander in self-loathing and self-pity otherwise. It's something that shouldn't exist, and it should be considered inhumane to cheat as though crushing the heart of your partner and wasting decades of their life is just another Saturday. But here we are. Honestly, it makes me not want to enter a relationship to save me the potential turmoil. But what can we do but seek another to share a lifetime with when the alternative is the loneliness of knowing everyday it's you and your thoughts alone in your own head otherwise? This is all to say that what's been done to you is something that no one should have to experience, but statistically is likely. And that statistic probability is no excuse to feel invalidated that your view that your hardship is anything less than worth being called devastating. If you feel you've been wronged then feel justified that the emotions you feel are real, that this sensation are genuine regardless of those who try to downplay it as a mere stepping stone moving forward. But at the same time its because of how much those lost years meant to us that we can have a true appreciation for our years going forward. That the mere perspective we gained by having lost part of something precious we've still got some of, that is our wisdom. And it is that wisdom that can guide a wiser person toward a meaningful future. The upside of any tragedy is having learned to appreciate the times were there isn't one, and the understanding mind and versed experience of being the survivor of it. I wish the best for you, and hope this song has continued to bring you the reflection and peace of knowing that others are with you in this story of life, surviving just as much. And brought peace under the same sound, just the same as we all sleep under the same moon.
