I did the first Saturdays every month for a year and a half, I missed August unfortunately because I had to travel but I'm jumping back on the wagon in September. It's not just about saving our souls, it's about pleasing the Mother of God and through her, the Holy Trinity. Who wouldn't want to make the Queen of Heaven happy?

@tony I don't go to services, I go to Mass. I go whenever I can which includes weekdays like this evening. It would appear that you lack understanding of Catholic doctrine. There are plenty of sources where you can inform yourself.

tony If you were raised Catholic you should be aware that at 4pm on Saturdays there are vigil Masses. Christ rose on a Sunday therefore we honor Him with Sunday worship.

To John JohnG: If it takes both Jesus and Mary to dispense immense graces, then you had better worship Mary day and night non-stop with all your might, in order for Jesus to honor your devotion to the "queen of heaven and earth", so that Jesus will dispense graces to Mary so she can decide whether or not you deserve at least a crumb of grace. Get real catholic !! Mary has absolutely nothing to do with dispensing graces nor interceding for anyone. Hebrews 7 says that Jesus is our intercessor, it says absolutely nothing about Mary. The papacy has brain washed catholics about Marian doctrine. Marian doctrine that is not found anywhere in the bible. The RCC claims that they wrote the bible, but still no where in scripture does it support one iota of Marian doctrine. Gee where did the RCC screw up ?! LOL!!

I thought confession for the 1st Saturday of Reconcilliation needed confession within 8 days before or after. understand that was extended to 21 days before or after if you were in the state of grace. Will have to double check with The Blue Army or The Fatima Center. Thank you father.

They have an issue with me sating the Ave Maria and have a huge issue when I tell them I am saying Mother of God in the last part. If your husband is against it, I'd suggest explaining the prayer as it is addressing Mary and asking her to pray for you. Most Protestants think it's a prayer to worship Mary so, be weary of that.

The word of God was planted in Mary’s womb and the word of God became flesh and lived among us. Jesus is the word of God who is God manifest in the flesh. God always was and always will be and He never had a beginning or a mother. Get over it Mary was carrying her savior. Who was Mary’s savior? You are right Jesus is the savior of the entire world. God is not into all these numbers and rules. Do the devotion and go to confession when you can. Jesus knows everything. If it’s 9 days later, or 3 days in, it’s all good. Our Heavenly Father knows your heart. Remain in peace.

@@johnjohng668 It is accurate to say He is merciful if the intent is there and there are obstacles that interfere. I'm sure, if through no fault of your own, you will be okay when you die, provided you die in a state of grace, etc, if you don't make it to confession within that time for this devotion. However, He is into rules. The Ten Commandments are an example. And He explicitly says to start over if you miss one first Saturday. So you might have gone through 4 months, tried your hardest to make it to the morning Saturday mass, but failed for whatever good reason, you would be STILL be expected to start all over again. Be careful not to make a habit of regarding His instructions with a lackadaisical attitude just because you know He is merciful. If unchecked, it might lead to the sin of presumption. I struggle with it myself.

@@dannymack9636 Danny, look at a KJV Gideon Bible from 40 years ago and then one from today. The text in some passages have been changed giving them different interpretations from the original which were closer to the Rheims- Douay. Also, the KJV after 1840 got rid of the Apocrypha which Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Bibles both have. The Dueterocananical books were written in Greek when Israel was in exile and under the rule of Alexander the Great. Most lost the knowledge of Hebrew and thus said books were later written in Greek, the prevailing language. Hebrew became the language of the Jewish priests and the common people spoke Greek and Aremaic. I hope this helps. Use the KJV along side a Catholic Bible, ie the Rheims- Douay or the Catholic Revised Standard or New American Bible. One should always have a number of Bible Translations.

We all need a savior or else we will all perish as all have sinned. Jesus is the savior of the world or the lamb of god who took away the sins of the world.The two thieves next to Jesus were forgiven but only one received his free gift of forgiveness and salvation. I still dont get how can reparation be made to anyone but god alone. And if its allowed to offer mary reparation can i give st joesph reparation also? Isnt sin a breaking of God laws which we must offer atonement to him for and him alone for the crime is against his commandments? It seems this is offering to mary what we are to give to god alone, and I cannot find any clear explanations on how reparation (which is not restitution) can be given to anyone but god alone and how its not a sin.

The Resurrection is coming When you sin against another person who is alive and repent of it, you must do justice to that person. This is the concept of reparation. Justice dictates that if I steal from my brother, I must ask forgiveness from God and him AND return the goods that have been taken. When sins are committed against the Blessed Virgin, God in his mercy grants that those in a state of grace can merit grace from him and can atone for the sins of their brothers and sisters. That is why we make reparation to God for her Immaculate Heart, we are essentially returning the goods that have been taken, we are joining our sacrifices to Christ’s sacrifice and amending the offense that has been made. This is how Christ atoned for sins on our behalf, by merit, and when we cooperate through his sacrifice we can also make atonement for the sins of others.

Reparation is made to both God and Mary. When someone sins, it offends God first; secondly, it offends all those in heaven and earth by degree of their union with God. Mary is closest to God, so she is most offended after God Himself. The 5 blasphemies mentioned here are directly aimed against the Blessed Virgin Mary, yet they are more directly offensive to God because He is the Source of her privileges. But now I have a question for you: If someone defames you, aren't you offended? Reparation is to offer an act of love to repair the wound. In this way both God and the Virgin Mary are consoled.

The Resurrection is coming because she is our mother. If your earthly mother was hurt or saddened by someone else’s fault, are you not allowed to comfort her and tell her you are so sorry that she is hurt even if you aren’t the one who caused it? That is all reparation to our blessed mother Mary is doing, we do not worship her but we console her and other times we ask for her to pray for us.

If your mother pleaded with you to forgive someone who slighted you, would you deny her? You think that jesus would deny his mother? The woman who bore him in her womb for 9 months, who fed him and cared for him? She does not forgive your sins, she only intercedes for us with her son who forgives our sins. And he does not deny her, because if jesus loves even the most agregious sinner than how much more would he loves his sinless mother?

You would love the image of jesus face on my ceiling. It appeared about a year ago. My husband even painted over it, because he thought it was a water stain. Guess what it reappeared. And there it will stay. Its in front of the fireplace mantle of which I have 3 beautiful pictures of mary and baby.

Hello Amwolf! I have done you a grave disservice. I am a simple blue collar fellow who works 40 + hours a week on second shift. Sorry that I am not as good at History or Theology as others. I am seeking truth & appreciate that some of the information you have presented gives cause for me to seek more knowledge. The love of Jesus Christ is the most real thing I have experienced and I would hope you might be fortunate to experience such love as well. I will continue to pray for you and endeavor to commit to acts of charity as well because your soul is dear to Almighty God even more than the relief of temporal suffering of the poor. To get back to your original point it is inaccurate to say "no evidence". You can accurately say that you are not convinced by the evidence or that you feel the evidence is not conclusive. However it is inaccurate for you to say that there is "no evidence." While I am not an expert in history nor theology I'm guessing that the exact year day or hour of the birth death or resurrection of our Blessed LORD is less important than the fact that they happened. I challenge you to follow the link provided to look at an argument provided by someone who has a much better understanding than the lowly blue collar worker who has sought to open your eyes. Bowing to a person DOES NOT MEAN YOU CONSIDER THEM GOD. Society bows to kings & queens out of respect or honor. Our Blessed Mother Mary is Queen of Heaven & Earth. If Jesus is King then his mother is the Queen. That is biblically back. King Solomon BOWED to his mother as queen. God bless :)

To those who turn away from devotion to Mary- Consider the Most Holy and Perfect Love of God. Do you think the Father has any less Love for His Son by delivering Him up to mankind, knowing that He would be crucified? No. God gave His Son to Mary, answering HER prayers for His coming because She ALONE was worthy to receive Him (Matthew 13:17). It was she who ALWAYS loved Him with her WHOLE Immaculate Heart and soul. (Do you believe God can create a Masterpiece to show us how to love Jesus in a perfect response to His Perfect Love?) LOVE gave LOVE to Love and She (who is a perfect human image of Him) gave Him to us (John 2:4). Mary knew Jesus destiny and She freely cooperated with God's Will to redeem mankind, despite what it cost Her, fulfilling the Two Great Commandments.

There’s nothing wrong with religious art, I have them. But when we give praise to any other person other than Jesus Christ, we commit idolatry. The Angels and all the heavenly host in heaven are giving praise to God continuously around Gods throne. Yes Mary was blessed among all women for bearing our Savior. Blessed Mary the mother of God in the flesh. But all praise, worship, and glory belong to Jesus alone as the Apostles set our examples.

Well yeah that is what Catholics believe in a nutshell. Every petition for Mary to pray for us is a Prayer to Jesus. Every devotion to Mary or any Saint is a devotion to Jesus. We love Mary because we Love Jesus and he commanded us on the cross to take care of her.

@@sideless6706 Jesus taught us how to pray. Jesus said to pray, "Our Father who art in heaven...." He didn't say to pray to Moses, or to David, or to Elija, since they were dead at that time. All our prayers are directed to our Father in heaven. Anywhere else will miss the mark, as Jesus is the door to heaven.

Danny Mack She died and is in heaven. She was bodily assumed. Catholics do not worship, we venerate her. The resurrection after the 2nd coming is for a physical body. You are implying that heaven Is empty, which is beyond what 99% of Protestants believe. I think you missed the mark on this. Praying to her, or anyone in heaven, namely the Saints, is only asking for them to pray for you, just like asking a friend to pray for you who is living in earth as opposed to living in heaven with the beatific vision.

Catholics do not worship Mary. She intercedes for us before the Throne of her son Our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ. Do you ever request someone to pray for you? Well then if you recite the Hail Mary which is the Angelic Salutation you will find that you are asking Mary, the Blessed Mother of Jesus, to pray for you to her son just as you would ask a family member or friend to pray for you. The added benefit is that Jesus who is the son of Mary honors and loves his mother and listens to her prayers offered on our behalf.
