I have the DeWalt crown stapler 18 gauge 16 gauge 15 gauge and also the framing and have had no complaints over the years of having them.. work like a charm do what they're supposed to do
Still have a old DeWalt 16g nailer, the one that uses NiCa batteries, tho converted with an adapter for lithium ones, and despite it's weight, still in my opinion the best nail gun out there, real workhorse, never missed a bit!
Yeah I have the old one too. 16ga DC618. Used for more than 10 years including for hardwood t&g flooring, often into 100year old hardwood framing. Never missed a beat and sinks the nail heads into hardwood. Still using the post-style XRP lithium batteries in it which just keep going. Superb nailer.
Always good to see a video of yours but, I understand when they don't roll out daily. Big fan and owner of both yellow and red. You are absolutely right about their differences. I would expect a new generation of Milwaukee nail guns as their current line is so problematic. For anyone considering a battery powered nailer I would go with Dewalt or Hitachi. Have a great day guys!
TheSoloman27 I would love to try other brands and I’ve had some Hitachi tools when I first started-table saw, circular saw and they make quality tools and I’m sure I would like the nail guns, the nail guns look good it’s just having another battery platform. Having the DeWalt and Milwaukee m12/m18 is aggravating enough keeping up with batteries and keeping them charged. Thanks for watching and commenting you have a blessed day
It was good to see a new video dewalt always seems to have better carpentry related tools them and makita but for cordless I use Milwaukee because of there variety in all trades.
Hello Mr Farmer.....its nice to hear from you. I am definitely a Milwaukee guy however I opted not to buy the Milwaukee nail guns because they do not even come close to comparing with the Dewalt. I have the 18 gauge brad nailer and the 15 gauge finish nailer , I chose the 15 gauge over the 16 gauge because of the micro nose that allows for alot better nail placement. The Dewalt 15 gauge finish nailer even has a pencil sharpener !!!! Come on Milwaukee , you guys could have done much much better. Nice seeing you back Mr Farmer....God bless brother.
I have the dewalt 18ga and the milwaukee 16 ga angle gen1. I prefer the dewalt over the milwaukee, but in red 16ga it works very well 0 problems use a lot in hardie siding, very strong.
You're very fortunate to be able to have affordable multiple battery platforms to choose . I chose Dewalt as I got a deal which included 2 x 5ah batteries years ago . Why don't manufacturers design generic batteries £$£$£$ ? Don't really trust adaptors. Great video
That “ramp-up” has nothing to do with trigger delay. The Dewalt doesn’t delay at all. It fires as soon as you pull the trigger. Don’t know how that mechanism works but despite that noise, it’s zero delay.
After watching you fire the Dewalt, then the Milwaukee, I was leaning towards the Milwaukee until I seen how many nails it was leaving proud in Bump mode
Jeff Tucker if you want the Milwaukee nail guns of any kind I would wait, they surely will update these guns. I’m a big fan of Milwaukee and DeWalt tools but the Milwaukee nail guns and staple guns are way behind the DeWalt.
That's crazy because I have both and I dont have that issue..at all of course just like any other gun there will be an occasional proud nail but over all i like milwaukee better and try the 18 gauge is way better..and most ppl I know would rather use Milwaukee and more features...I guess it all comes down to personal opinion. Great video!!
@@JoseLopez-yn9eg interesting to see your comment because i wanted to go with the milwaukee until I saw it leaving nails proud. Do you find it an issue?
One thing that pisses me off is when Dewalt fails to put an led on a new tool. I got the cordless worm saw flexvolt and they didn’t put an led on it. It’s the best saw out there still but they didn’t put an led on it WTF DEWALT!!!???
I've been using both the 16 and 18 cordless dewalts for over a year we do a ton of custom trim work with them. My 18s get the most use "great for base board smaller hole as well" but seem to be getting tired or started misfiring. I now have 3 of the 18 dewalts but am getting the 18 milwaukee this week to see if it does better its there redesigned model so it has the hook on the bottom. Had good reviews and I do like there tools. Hope you find something that works for you best of luck
I have a 30, I’ve never seen the time I needed a 21. Just make sure 21 nails are readily available if that’s the the gun your going to buy because I think the 30 is more popular. Merry Christmas and have a happy new year.
Sir I’m not an expert on anything. I only work on properties I own so if they fail it’s only on me and my expense. You better ask someone else. I went to the school of hard knocks of trial and error!! lol but I do appreciate your commenting. I’ve kinda slowed down and not doing as much work these days more vacations and less work. Happy New Year’s Eve and happy new years and be blessed!!!
You know I like milwaukee, but there was no reason to put electronics in that gun to "power it up" and change the selectors. That will probably be the first thing to break even though it'll last for years I'm sure.
Most of my stuff is DeWalt, but that spool-up noise would drive me nuts. I'll stick with air to drive nails/staples. Not only are pneumatic nailers smaller and lighter, but you have that added adjust-ability of air pressure for driving depth. Air nailers are about half the price of these and alot less moving parts to wear out. Just my 2 cents.
The new gen or i think its the 2nd gen of the Milwaukee guns are good. The first gen Milwaukee 16ga nail gun we have trouble getting it to sink the nail head sometimes. You might want to check that out a little more. We have no trouble with the DeWalt sinking the nail head.
