Your video made total sense and a very straight forward review. Thank you for comparing all 3 lights. It definitely helped me select which one to purchase. It also helped me realize I need both the bigger spot light and the area/flood light. It was easy to see they both performed differently at night for different purposes. Thanks again.
DCL050 now comes as "Type 2", which is 1000/300 lumens. It's the same model number though so it's hard to know which version you are getting without seeing it in person. The old Type 1 comes packaged with the light straight up and down, Type 2 is packaged with the light bent at 90 degrees. I don't think most retailers realize it changed, since the part number has not. Type 2 is not even listed on DeWalt's website, but I was able to find one at a local chain store (Runnings) despite that store's website listing the old version.
Same for the spot light... the spot light now is 1500/500 lumens...I was hesitate to buy any of them because I thought they are not bright enough. I bought the type 2 area light and love it. I am planing to get the spot light too. I don't need it but want it. I spent way way too much money on tools and now I got hook with Milwaukee.
nice review Angel. I think Im going to go with the DCL 043 spotlight. My buddies got both of the lights and yeah the spotlight is majorly brighter as well as has the high/low lumen settings and red light for low level lighting situations. Thanks for reviewing bro
Great video. I’ve got the two spot lights and use them multiple times on a weekly basis The larger spot light with red is my go to it is the brightest. The larger spot light is basically x3 of the smaller spot lights in one. They are Solid products designed to be used for many many years. Everyone should own these products. You get what you pay for and these products are a steal all considered
Yes Sir, the video was very helpful! I bought a combo with the big spotlight, and the area light. I have a great LED flashlight but it uses those cheap rechargeable batteries that are pure garbage. Since I already have dewalt batteries for my drill it was a no brainer. I appreciate the review.
I'm in the Dewlt ecosystem these are a no brainer as I always have loads of charged batteries to hand. More than enough to last a few days if the power is off.
I have the spotlight and the small light and I'm about to get the worklight. Dewalt makes great products. I own just about every tool they have come out with and I am very impressed with the performance of them. In every case they beat their corded counterpart with ease.
Cordless are the greatest thing ever but they don't always best out corded tools. I used a corded jigsaw today for the first time in a few years and I forgot how nice they cut. 100x nicer than my cordless dewalt jigsaw. Grinders, I have t tried the flexvolt but I can't see battery providing the power needed for grinding work. Hammer drill same thing. I have used the expensive ones and they work great but the batteries run out quick and the unit cost 4x+ what a corded hammer drill costs. I have always been against corded tools but I was just following the fad.
I bought a dcl040 with a kit and never regretted it. Once something strange happed to my light and dealt replaced it in a heartbeat I could never be happier with a light.btw undid come with a belt clip.
I have the DCL040 and the light bulb? LED? stopped working...how the heck do you find a replacement bulb/led? And how the heck to you change it. Can't find vid anywhere. Tks
Angel Jones ok. Another guy on utube says middle light is awesome it goes long distance not sure if I will keep small one yet or sell I do have area light it's awesome. Thanks for replying
I've tried the 20v leaf blower it was nice and light, not very powerful but had enough power for light duty stuff like blowing saw dust or small piles of leave. I've also tried the 60v string trimmer which was also light and quite powerful for being a battery trimmer
Informative review! Love these lights, Thank U. Are you ever gonna review the Dewalt Power Station, you got the big batteries on that, I'd like to know the runtime with those.
Thank you, I appreciate it. I would of reviewed the power station but unfortunately I've been over seas for the past 7 months and will be for a few more months. I've got about 3.5hrs on the power station running a 32in led tv and an Xbox One X with 4 9.0s batteries. The power station is awesome for those quick jobs where you need quick 120v butFor extended periods of time I would recommenced a gas generator.
I bought a 040 this weekend. It is going back to Home Depot. Once I got it out of the pack and held it, I can tell it is flimsy junk. One drop and it would be over for this thing. I paid $65 for it with no battery. I will be switching to another brand. DeWalt is going downhill fast.
Absolute bullsh1t. I've dropped mine off the roof onto concrete accidentally and abused one for years on various jobs, in the rain etc. works like brand new.
@@miked6367 If you've had it for years, it is the old style light, and made MUCH better. Go check out the new ones. DeWalt has gone down hill in quality.
@@ericpigg2689 i notice you mentioned you had the 040 model, the small one, i have had the 2 larger ones, they still sell the originals to this day in the shops, they're fantastic. You can tell which are the original models of them because they have the original lumen ratings, the newer versions have higher lumens, which im not interested in. If you get a chance to get either of the original 043 or 050 (the larger 2 models in this video) they will serve you well for a decade. I can't vouch for that smaller model. Cheers
@@miked6367 Good to know. I will look into them. I took that one back and got the longer one with 3 LEDs and it is better, although it still does not seem to be as heavy duty as the older DeWalt tools I have. Thanks for the information!
These products very expensive bcoz had hard time to buy the complete set wondering why the manufacture don't package the complete set of 3 parts at once, and plus had to pay shipping fee for each part ! Not recommend at all 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
