DeWalt 60V Snow Blower first use (UNSPONSORED)

First time using the DeWalt 60V Max snowblower. Still very early in the season so the snow was really wet. The batteries only used up 1 bar and my driveway is about 85 feet long and 20 feet wide. I like how quiet the DeWalt snowblower is and I found the performance to be as expected. Of course for the price I could buy a much more powerful snow blower but I already have a DeWalt lawnmower and I'm willing to sacrifice some performance in order to keep my batteries all the same and have the option to use the batteries in my other DeWalt tools. I don't have an affiliation with DeWalt or Home Depot and I'm not a DeWalt fan boy. Thanks for watching!

You need more snow for the machine to throw farther. For snow that deep, it's more of a convenience that you don't have to push and lift. Basically you start from the middle of your driveway and build up the sides until you get to each edge. My gas one works exactly the same as that one.

The snow was wet. Deeper wet snow will just plug it faster.

The driveway snow isn’t the issue with these, it’s what the city plow leaves that these machines can’t handle.

Looks like newer models have Two-way electric chute rotation via paddles

I have been waiting for a dewalt snow blower for too long. I have all dewalt hand tools and outdoor tools, simply because I only have to deal with one type of battery. However, I ended up getting the toro e26 last year and I am so glad I didn’t wait for this weak thing to come out. Maybe dewalt will come out with a 2 stage…hopefully. And hopefully the 2 stage will be built with more power.

It’s just so disappointing seeing that dewalt is now “prosumer”, and they are really late to the game with a snow blower. Can’t pull an Apple excuse about getting things better than the rest of the market by being patient. There are plenty of other electric snow blowers which are better. I remember when dewalt represented contractor grade. This is absolutely not a contractor grade piece of equipment. Pepperidge farms remembers. How many times did you have to recharge the batteries to get through your driveway?

Can dewalt put a switch on the headlights? I just got a new one, and the headlights are on. You can't turn them off, not good for something you pay near $1500.00 for and no chute pick to clear the chute when the snow clogs it up that a safety concerned for me I think i will like the Dewalt snowblower because i am 68 years old. My big gas snowblower is too heavy for me now .

My gas-powered Cub Cadet plugs up all the time too on the heavy/wet snow. This looks to be quite comparable to that, which, for electric, I'm okay with.

The cost of the 2 batteries are high which has to be factored into the cost. Slush is hard to move and you're not going to throw a lot of snow unless you have 8"+. I have a inexpensive snow joe? We haven't had much snow in the past 3yrs. But I have similar experiences.

Thank you for showcasing this machine. Not all snowfalls are equal and we definitely get wet snow from time to time. Seeing it plug up that many times has changed my mind for now. I was looking at purchasing this to compliment my new Honda tracked 28" 2 stage machine: The Honda will do the major clean up and I'll follow up with the Dewalt to clean right down to the pavement.

Some snow conditions will plug any snow blower. Something that helps a bit is to spray the chute and auger area with a liberal amount of vegetable spray - harder for it to stick…

Just curious, what would you want to see in wheels? A lot of other brands have plastic wheels for electric single stage machines. Theyre also similar to the ones on their mowers.
@RinkVideo
@RinkVideo 11 месяцев назад
Rubber with air would be ideal. Or neoprene like a big rollerblade wheel. That said, my mower wheels have stood the test of time but obviously I don’t use it in the winter.
@AngeloR674
@AngeloR674 11 месяцев назад
You should of gotten a two stage mower! You have a big driveway! Stage 1 snowblowers are useless when you get 10 inches and above! Dewalt doesn’t make good equipment like that! Just tools!
@RinkVideo
@RinkVideo 11 месяцев назад
Trust me I kicked around the idea of it for awhile! I considered a 2-stage Honda with tracks. Ultimately the decision was based off of weight (size), maintenance, and something more kid-friendly to operate. If we get ten inches I’ll have to send the boy outside mid-storm 😜

Please don’t put your hand in the shoot to clear the snow…. I’ve heard of horror stories, just use a stick to clear it next time. I’m definitely debating spending the $1000 on dewalt vs buying a heavy duty gas snow blower. I’m obsessed with dewalt but this might be going to far.
