I've been using my dcf850 for about 8 months daily in automotive. I've never had a problem. It will even break bed bolts loose sometimes if the last guy didn't give it the ugga duggas. I have dewalt, milwaukee, and cornwell tools. I like them all, but this compact driver is my bread and butter. I would be screwed without it 😂
@Shane Boesen I went through 2 of them in less than 3 months. I bought 8 others for the crews. They either broke or where abandoned for makita. I have 8 employees, they all rather use makitas. The power and speed was on parr with the makita xdt17, when brand new. But it couldnt take a drop, nor running 1000s of self tappers daily. Its also not smooth and gets more choppy as you use it. Im not a brand loyalist, zero bias. I own/owned almost every cordless tool from all the main brands. I buy them when they come out, if it dont make the cut, I just throw them in company rotation, or just give them to my employees. Makita xdt18/19 or my daily drivers 171 and 172 from Japan are hands down the best for my line of work, but id say best period (imo). Im not saying the dewalt impact is junk, it is just not able to do what the makita does.
@@johnd5542 well, good for your guys. All the brands are decent, and some tools are better than others in specific applications. I've noticed the 850 hates dust, so if you guys are packing it full of dirt or water, of course it's gonna self destruct. Dewalt is probably a brand that doesn't work as well for outside purposes. My milwaukees, you could fill them full of gravel and they'd keep running. It really depends in what you're doing I guess.
@Shane Boesen I completely agree. All the main brands are quality tools. Just some of the tools are moderately better, or better for specific task. Thats why I dont limit myself to one brand. If I did have to use just one platform, Id probably go with Milwaukee due to their overall quality and large selection/industry specific tools.
Im working on construction I build beton Fundation we work in Rain All time And Sand Dirt I use my dewalt 887 Without caring much about it And never had any issue with it!!! I have this for 3 year and every day i use it!!
Makita fan and owner here: i have the dtd171 and is the best for working with metal studs, metsec... But when is about timber, i belive that high rpm from dewalt is better. Makita got more Power in NM, and low rpms. The dewalt is low NM and a little more rpms than makita... That is making dewalt to be good for carpenters, and other diy projects . But fails when is about metal. Makita is the choice for roofers, scaffolders,drylining...and all other . Dewalt is for short terms, while makita is for long road. Dewalt is a lil more expensive than makita..
Very interesting. One thing I disagree with is Dewalt being more expensive than Makita. No, Makita is more when you compare their low tier, mid tier, and high tier model prices to other brands low tier, mid tier, and high tier model prices.
I’ve built multiple decks using the dewalt on the left. Probably several thousand screws going through 2x4s into PT. 2 and 3 inch screws. I’ve dropped it from ladders, used it as a hammer and it just won’t stop. Also the short head means it can fit almost anywhere
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but The dcf850 is Dewalts atomic series power tool line and its regularly seen as the weakest or comparable to the dcf887 which came out in 2015…. Makita is pretty outdated at this point… many of the people I work with use Makita but they’re the older models of Makita glory days And news flash guys. Any power tool/tool will last you a lifetime if you take care of it and don’t abuse it as many do… the only exception is the Milwaukee gen 4 impact driver… that shid may be strong but it has a wide range of issues later on😂
I can't believe people believe such a tiny difference in speed means something. Ok, after a full day of framing, how much more actual productivity was done because the slightly faster tool was chosen? Or perhaps there are other criteria that matter more once acceptable performance is achieved?

Nói về nghề mộc bắn gỗ hạng nặng thì dùng mil vẫn ok hơn, còn dewalt thiết kế ban đầu thì đầu đã có độ rơ nhẹ rồi. Còn dùng chuyên về bắn tôn sắt, bắn vật liệu không cần lực búa quá lớn thì makita 171-173 vẫn là đỉnh của đỉnh. Vì máy thiết kế cho cảm giác cầm nắm rất vừa tay, cò điều tốc rất mượt, dùng từ sứ nên tiếng máy nghe rất êm, tiếng rít khi thắng nghe rất sướng tai. Máy có 4 cấp chỉnh lực và 4 chức năng bắn thông minh. Thiết kế nhỏ gọn, tua máy cao. Nói chung là dùng makita vẫn sướng hơn các thương hiệu đến từ mỹ
