It's a nice handy tool to have in your tool box for occasions where you'll only have 3-4" of clearance. Despite it being impact rated, only an idiot would put it on an impact driver and expect it to not blow apart. There are multiple moving parts inside.. The key to using it is to put a lot of pressure onto the head so that the screw doesn't cam out while giving it consistent power from your drill driver. Works every time for me the last 5 years.

Bought mine about five or six years ago when I was doing sheet metal work. Definitely came in handy. Even got a few other guys to buy some. Mine wasn't magnetic, that was probably my only complaint about it.

Yep, need to get me one of those Lol. Its another tool you didn't know you needed until you see someone else using it. I can see several applications of that tool on my classic truck :-)

I'm an appliance tech. I was going to buy the Dewalt, but it was a little bit bigger than the other one I found. I don't know the brand. I do know it is chrome in color and much more compact. been using it for a few years. absolutely love it

I just bought one today at homedepot after seeing my sister's boyfriend use one helping me drill holes through wall studs to make a wall outlet up higher behind mounted TVs.

Go to Canada or Alaska's north slope and look at the tracks they use to move a drill rig. Remote controlled and I've seen as many as 16 go North to move a drill rig. One track per heavy haul trailer.

I remember my grandfather making me use those awful old right angle attachments on those equally awful on or off black and decker drills that you plugged in from the 80s and earlier. I had to drill like 5 dozen pilot holes in the deck stairs in a tiny area I was chosen because I was the smallest person to get in the hole to do the job and I was only 10. I cried the entire time it took me days because it kept catching it had no clutch.

There is 2 different versions of this Dewalt attachment. The one that has a hole in the back to release the bit is junk(pictured in video). I have broken 2. I sent them back to Dewalt and received in return ones that do not have have a hole in the back that work great.

My only complaint is that it's not fixed, so you can't use it without two hands, you have to hold the right angle bit while holding the drill as well.

This is nice.. At first I was worried this be kinda clunky to use, (Like you be dropping bolts and screws after pulling them out.. But I get it that the magnetized bit end lets you use both hands on the tool.

Hey if everybody likes this attachment then you should really love the DeWalt right angle flex shaft! check em out! kinda the same principle only a flexible shaft with a right angle head that's smaller for even tighter area's! I love mine! hope this helps! thanks.

I had one of those tools. It fell apart first use. The replacement fell apart too. I went back to pneumatic ratchet.

Is there a way to have this lock its position to the driver? If you don't hold it with your hand it will spin freely.

Dewalt may not make a battery powered ratchet but Mac Tools does and there powered by Dewalt batteries so there's no compatibility issues with the rest of your Dewalt powered tools. They make a 1/4 and a 3/8 drive ratchet.

Get the original one, not some knock off.. Check the Skewdriver (amazon or wherever) I have used one since late 80's...

Milwaukee has been selling a similar tool for at least 5 years. Dewalt is a bit late to the game. Harbor Freight has been selling a non-impact rated Chinese model for just as long.

I do too but just ordered the adapter since my air tools don't follow me as conveniently in salvage yards etc. I do run them off an industrial CO2 cylinder and 200 psi fixed pressure regulator sometimes (mostly when I need serious impact wrench action) but those require refills.

I am surprised that Dewalt has not be sued over this. I used the original one back in the 80's when I was a car stereo installer. It was called a skewdriver. They have improved it to handle more power/torque from the original design. But this is a complete rip off of the original. It is ideal for getting speaker grills off of dash speakers that are near the wind shield, or behind door panels that you dont want to remove the panel completely to get a speaker out. spectools.com/shop/skewdriver-pro-kit/

*One thing that isn't mentioned is that this is only good for sockets, not drill bits. That's a huge advantage that red one in the background has over this one.*

*That's essentially an adapter set. May be a quick fix, but not really a solution when you have a full drill bit set. Unless you're saying to not use drill bits without a hex shank anymore...*

@@PeteLenz Nope -- This driver does not have a thrust bearing rated for the pressure needed for drilling. It's only good for handling torque as in tightening or removing fasteners. Dewalt tech support says this is not to be used for drilling or it may break or wear prematurely.
