The G7 is now available here in the USA but not integrated with the tandem x2 pumps yet but will be later in the year. Not sure when it will be yet. I can't wait until it is. Looking forward to this.
Has anyone asked a question about the G7 lag time? How does the reading of the G7 compare to to G6 in terms of what the actual current glucose level is and what is read by the sensor? And also, does anyone find different lag times between G6 sensors or is this just me looking for reasons to explain roller coasting yo-yo rides??? But is G7’s lag any shorter than G6’s???
Thanks for the Q&A. I have been using Libre and because the sensor fibre is very short and strictly needs to be 90 degrees angle, I have constantly had sensor failure or the sensor would literally pop out of my arm under intense exercise. I can see that the fibre for G7 is very short and needs to be applied at 90 degrees too, does it cause the same issues like Libre?
After 3 pretty much trouble free G6 years (tge odd signak loss & 1 falling off) I’ve now been on G7 for 4 weeks…. First sensor failed to pair on insertion 2nd lasted the 10 days but averaged around 30 signak losses a day 3rd constant signak loss and at 9.5 days it told me to replace it 4th fell off after 2 days. My phone in never more than 80cm from me except shower time so constant signak loss suggest issue with G7 Bluetooth (S’s e phone as used for reliable G6 signal). Sp 4 F7’s in and 3 replaced…. Safe to say so far I’m not impressed
So it only goes 10 days? I remember reading at one point they were aiming for 14 day sensor sessions. I'm guessing they scrapped that before release. Shame.
iPhone compatibility is reasonably fast for a medical app but android takes forever as there are many many different types. You can install Dexcom DIY app on basically any device too.
True, that is where my "challenge" lies. The Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro took approximately 10 months to be compatible. In my mind, that is about 8 months too long. Google Pixel 6a release date was July and 7/7 Pro October. Neither compatible yet. I am a fan of Dexcom, just wish they would speed up the process. Thanks.
Yeah DIY built app is fine, but if you have an issue and call Dexcom tech support they can see this on their end of the app connection details and in some cases that potentially could mean they will not support you or replace a sensor your app is reporting a problem with.
What if you wear skin tack you know the glue for our skin and the device can’t carefully be applied even with a Q-tip or whatever it’s called in England will it stay on I’m pretty sure it will. Have you ever heard of anyone trying it.
I just applied SkinTac directly to the G7 before applying the sensor. Worked perfectly. Made sure sponge applicator not too wet. Don’t want to Wear Patch if I don’t have to
I've been on the G7 for 5 days so far and have also been experiencing constant signal losses even when the phone is just in my pocket. Very much hope it's not a hardware issue and can be fixed with a firmware update because otherwise it has been fantastic. So far though it has been considerably less reliable than the G6.
