I'd recommend the Biergarten in Epcot's Germany pavilion for first-timers. The buffet has all manner of artery-clogging deliciousness to satisfy any preference, the seating is classic German-style long tables where you get to meet new people (something sorely missing from American culture these days), and the delightful polka show will keep the kids entertained while the grown-ups enjoy their second (or third!) enormous beers.
My kids love Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge. The food is good, but the best part is the fun atmosphere and make sure you ask for ketchup.
I stayed in AKL while I went on holiday to Florida, and I had Boma breakfasts every day!! I’ve gotta say, Boma is the number one place for food, and nobody should have any second thought on whether to go there or not!!
During this last visit to Disney World, we try it out quite a few of the character dining locations. Easily! Hands down! The best character interaction was at tusker house. Goofy is not to be missed!! Donald and Daisy were exceptional with our shy twins. Just an amazing afternoon. The food? Well I'm not a great fan of African flavors... But my family thought it was great. And there are a number of All American options there. I had heard tusker house was great... But I would raise it to the point of sensational with the character meet-and-greets.
I'd be interested in seeing a video suggesting restaurants for young adults. A lot of kids travel to Disney for spring break and once Galaxy Edge opens up, I know my best friend and I are planning on going.

My favorite counter service at the Magic Kingdom is Cosmic Ray's!!! This is partly nostalgia, but the toppings bar is AWESOME!!! It can take a plain burger and fries to the moon (SWIDT)!!!
We will be in Disney World for my birthday, and we are going to Le Cellier for the big day, I’m so so excited! I love steak and last time I went I couldn’t stop thinking about the food 😍😍
I was surprised that was not on here, that and Be our Guest was easily my favorite restaurants at Disney. The thing I loved with "Sci-fi Dine in" is its atmosphere.
I would love to eat at the be our guest restaurant but I’ve been told you have to make a reservation like a year or two ahead 😔 I hope I get to eat there one day! 💛
Not sure if others are commenting this but the 50s prime time cafe is not doing the interactive experience anymore because of too many complaints ( yes I called to ask)
nether of my 2 faves got on the list. The Marrakesh is Disney's Moroccan restaurant and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. It is a Norway castle it is a grate alternative for the princes lunches at Cinderella's castle as thy tend to be book months in advance
The luau at the Polynesian Resort! Fantastic all you can eat food. Pizza for the kids, and yes, that is also all they can eat. The shredded pork is the best I have ever had. The show is thrilling, fun, and beautiful
I would love lunching with Sonny Eclipse... If I could hear him!! Cosmic rays is so loud that it's almost to a point of being uncomfortable. It's really too bad that you can't hear the entertainment over the people talking. Then again most people talk through all of the interesting queues as well... So I guess that's how Disney World goes.
I couldn't agree more with your choices. 100% spot on. Two I might add to the list are Chefs de France in Epcot and Raglan Road at Disney Springs. Great list!!!
The food in Epcot was my reason for going there in the first place. I always made sure I had room for the candied nuts and the African cart's chicken pasties.
As a former first timer, the only thing my list had in common with this list was Be Our Guest. Our must-do list also had Cinderella's Royal Table, Sci-Fi Dine-In, the San Angel Inn, and the Spirit of Aloha dinner show, all of which I would still stand behind. If we ever went back to WDW, Trader Sam's would be on my new list.
I sure wish I would have you guys before my first time almost a year ago. BUT with our 2nd Disney Family Vacation right around the corner I have been binge watching your videos! :)
Hey guys, love your food videos. I was wondering if you have video on counter service restaurants that have meals that you can share with more then one person. Looking to save some money for our trip in November. We will be going to to Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios we have 2 young boys that are going.
I ate at the " Be Our Guest" restaurant and the only way I could go wAs someone canceled last minute but the reservations where like 6 months in advance!!!
Chef Mickey's was my childhood dream to eat at, for some reason. It just seemed like such a neat thing, with the Monorail going right through! I still have not been there, and I'm almost 37. :P I'm hoping to get back to Disney next year, though, and just for childhood fulfillment, I plan to go!
I agree with the others for 1st timers - - I'd add Sci-Fi (Disney Hollywood Studios), especially if there are kids. I also think Beaches and Cream (Ice Cream and grill at the Beach Club) is so delicious and themed so well.
I absolutely agree with 50's prime time and Via Napoli. I was CRAZY for Via Napoli. We went twice. And gosh yes that PIZZA. It was just so good. 50's prime time was my birthday dinner last year. I was so happy. Everything was amazing and they even had a little cake for me. Kona Cafe is a great alternative to Ohana if you can't get in and has fantastic food. I'm going to boma for breakfast before I leave after my halloween party this year. We also REALLY liked Biergarten too. I know it's a simple little buffet but it was so much fun. For quick service, Katsura Grill was my favorite over in the Japan pavillion. Their curry was spot on. Great stuff. Les Halles Bakery was on my list but I never managed to get there. I really wasn't impressed with: Scifi Dine In or Be Our Guest. The food was mediocre even if the surroundings were fantastic. I was downright disgusted with Pinocchio Village Haus. That place was gross.
Hello! I'm going to Disney with my school soon and my friends have enlisted me as "travel agent", because I've been so many times. I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for good, cheap lunch/dinner foods (in the range of 15-25$). Thank you!!
I would like to argue that Tutto Italia is a much better restaurant than Via Napoli. Granted we are more of a pasta-loving household that go to Disney, but we were not very satisfied with the pizza there.
All good choices. The German buffet restaurant at Epcot is another good suggestion for first-timers. This place also has good offerings for vegetarians. :-)
akronkeith I agree! Biergarten was perhaps the most unique restaurant we tried on our trip. There are definitely some interesting items in the buffet and the atmosphere and live music is tons of fun.
I have had one fantastic experience there and two really poor experiences. When Biergarten is great ... it's sensational! But your timing there is really essential. If you get there too late in the lunch or dinner service, the food on the buffet line is dried out at best. And what's the point of a buffet if the food is bad? Lastly, don't make your reservation at Biergarten for a late dinner. The place refuses to set a time limit on patrons, and some very rude people will sit there for hours drinking and drinking while their kids run amok in the restaurant. (Seriously, some folks use it as the equivilent of a night at the bar while their kids treat it like Chuckie Cheese - and the band members have to police their kids and annouce over the microphones for them to PLEASE return to their moms and dads. Management-this is YOUR timeto act.... and they don't!!) This can leave hungry folks WHO HAVE RESERVATIONS left outside (for up to an hour and a half to two hours) waiting for their table. And then when you get in there, the band ends for the night about an hour and a half before closing. Do you pay less for having to stand outside so long, not having any entertainment, or choosing food off a dried-up buffet? Absolutely not!! You don't even get an apology even though it's their management's problem to not ask people to leave while everybody else is waiting. I am so so soured by the experience, I will never go there again!
Pomeranianz Garden Grill food is OK but great to meet characters. If you end up sitting on the top level you dont get to see the scenery and very cramped.
Disneyland is The Happiest Place on Earth. WDW is The Vacation Kingdom and/or The Most Magical Place on Earth. Rookie mistake. DH’s first trip this November and on the list is Trail’s End, Kona Cafe, lunch at Sana’a and a couple others mentioned in comments. I miss Chef Mickey’s waterfront location. It was long on charm and less cacophonous.
"Churrascaria" is pronounced "shoo-has-cah-ree-ah", with the emphasis on "ree". And the "r" is rough. No idea how to describe it! Oh, and obviously, great video! Subscribed :)
If you’re the first customer of the day at 50s prime time, you get to have your picture taken with your “Cousins”. your picture is hung on the fridge for the day, and you are given a copy of the picture to keep. So fun!
OMG thanks sooooooo much for this. I’m a neat freak and I’m so excited because I might go to Disney. I’m trying my hardest to convince my dad. Please wish me luck and give me suggestions on what rides I should check out and what hotels are good to stay in. Also if anyone knows how much money it costs for fast passes could you please tell me. Thanks everyone!!!!!
For Christmas Boma(buffet) has a good vegetarian selection but is African inspired, as does Via Napoli because its pizza. Chef mickeys, 50s primetime, and the dinner show do not have good vegetarian options, but the dinner show is so good its worth trying and Im sure the kicthen will accommodate your diet to give you a fairly good dining experience.
Word to the wise, Be Our Guest is now a signature restaurant so it will cost you 2 dinner credits if you're using the DFP which is ridiculous as the food is barely Olive Garden quality.
You can always walk up, but you may have a long wait or be told there's no availability - so it's best, if you can, to make a reservation. But, don't let that stop you from trying!! Nothing ventured, nothing eaten! :-)
Good choices and I've eaten at several. But Jiko's at Animal Kingdom Lodge is fantastic! I've eaten there three times! The food and service was fabulous!
I had a pal eat there last year with her wife and they were pretty unimpressed. Too much cumin. They were crazy for flying fish and artist pointe, tho.

No, you must not experience Chef Mickeys. Want air conditioning, see lots of characters, and actually have quality food? Go to Tusker House. Avoid Chef Mickey's at all costs.
I HATE ohana dinner, but love the breakfast!! For the dinner, our waiter was VERY bad. She forgot the bread, almost lost our credit card, took an hour after us being sat to get our food, and just was so rude. The huge table beside us, which the server had no control over, but the one kid had an iPad playing with all the volume all the way up. I asked if they could turn it down, and of course they didn’t. The food wasnt good either.
