I grew up on the West side of Fort Worth in the River Park Neighborhood. My parents didn't have cable until 2001, so most of my childhood TV viewing in the 90s was spent watching programming from the local channels' Saturday morning blocks (Think CBS Kids, ABC Kids, UPN Kids, Kids WB, and Fox Kids), PBS's PTV park block, and Granny's old VHS tapes.
Before sammons Marge with charter you have channel 13 and where's kdtn channel 2? 21 years ago your cable provider should have 2 pbs channels both primary and secondary I was 11 channel 2 did not go to color bars it showing a clock on 3rd corner of screen for lot of some pbs shows. It was overnight just before channel 4 5 8 and 11 gear up for morning news.
@@suprb6970 Well those with satellite dishes (4DTV (C-Band/Ku-Band), Primestar, DirecTV/USSB, etc...) had to use TV antennas and simply run a coaxial cable (type RG6U or RG11U etc...) and rabbit ears through the antenna check of the receiver (to avoid ghostly picture) for the local channels.
It's a Scientific Atlanta 8610X, we had these with MediaOne (and it's brief successor AT&T, then Comcast) in the Boston area. They were common throughout the late 90s to the mid 2000s, and we still had one in a spare room until Comcast kicked the bucket on analog cable in 2010. Interestingly enough, our market went with Motorola instead of SA for the digital equipment. From what I can tell based on my research, their guide software was designed in-house and wasn't any kind of syndicated software like iGuide or Passport, and there isn't much of it on RU-vid other than a few "channel surfing" videos like this one, as well as the aforementioned Oklahoma tornado video, which is the only one that actually shows the guide as well, and not just the information bars.
