I love the professional coverage, stats, etc. You guys have ratcheted things up a notch with professional coverage. One of the details that is missing is distance of the drive or distance to the pin. I am sure that on some courses this is very tough. But on a lot of these holes there are key markers that you could use as reference points to say that tree is 400' from the tee box and that shot looks to be 20 feet past the tree which leaves him about 150 to go. This would give people more of a point of reference at how good these guys really are. It might take some pre-tournament scouting and a range finder - but that would really put you a big notch above the competition. Thanks for what you do for disc golf SpinTV!!!!!

Also to add to a better quality viewing, their names first and last should be on the digital score card. The professional commentary is great but often they will use a name associated to the player that isnt disclosed leaving the viewer confused.

Fastest growing sport in America for a reason with parks sprouting up all over. Also free to play and a great community sport. Jamie Thomas is the absolute best commentator we have in disc golf. No question. Awesome comeback by McBeth. I love Ricky but that McBeth was killer, especially after altering his putting stance. Who on earth can do that and still be as competitive?!

does it matter where you throw the disc as long as it lands in bound? like can i throw it across but its still ok if it lands in bounds?

Yes, as long as any piece of the disc comes to rest in bounds, you're safe. If your disc comes to rest OB, you take 1-stroke penalty, and your lie is positioned at the last place where the disc crossed the OB line.

It sucked me like a black hole of boredom and I began thinking...it would much more exciting with crocodiles in the bushes and water, wild snakes from trees. wolves chasing them from hole to hole. Commentary needs a lot of work!!! Not sure if you'll read this or take it under advisement, but... Watch some ball golf tournaments, they know the players, what shots there known for and what clubs they use, the distances, and they reference personal interview information they have on the players and use it when needed during the competition. So glad to even have coverage of this awesome sport and I believe in the DGWT in what you want to do, we all want disc golf to get big! Avery at least is a known respected player, and should have the best advantage in supporting the commentary for what might be going on in pressure situations and be able to describe possible shots that are available in unique situations. CCDG boys know how to work the camera's and the angles, great fun to listen to as well. Not a fan of what Jamie is or is trying to do!

I've recommended they watch ball golf videos with professional commentaries as well. Giving distances or approximate distances(in feet for Americans) along with the disc they are using would be great instead of telling us what we already know by watching the video. I can't stand the CCDG commentaries they yammer on too much about nonsense for me.

I like to hear the game and player noises. I just wish the commentators would either use a script or cut the nonsense. I agree the commentary could use improvement. Only problem is everything you suggest they take personal and that's not what we're trying to do. We are trying to help the sport grow in a positive and respectable way.

most likely trying to build suspense/interest....but who knows? It definitely feels like this is the awkward tweener years of disc golf coverage- where people are still feeling their way, testing out techniques, learning their respective roles and what have you.... there's going to be some growing pains, and there isn't much time, for once the ability to charge and or pay for services such as coverages becomes MORE streamlined and accessible it's gonna be dog eat dog...and crews are gonna be turning out vid's next day or better, trying to make them monies... IMO

Disc Golf borrows many equivocal or nearly-equivocal terms from Golf. Technically they're labeled as "Putt & Approach" discs, as they are essentially your putter and your wedges in Golf. We use other terms like "Pin" and "Hole" as well. Even though they don't directly translate, it helps get the point across.
