Since all the time you were playing the same tune in the key of F major, the terrible sound you were making was because you were not playing the B flat. Also if you are going to play a scale the full length of the keyboard for public exhibition you should know the fingering 1 2 3 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 1 2 3 4 etcetera then you won't have the obvious problem of running out of fingers.
