Dhotrey is a small hamlet situated in the lap of Himalaya on Singalila National Park range. Altitude of Dhotrey is 8500ft. This village is mainly popular for Sandakphu trek. Visitors starts their trekking towards Sandakphu from here. The majestic view of kanchanjungha is another best feature of Dhotrey. Along with the scenic beauty the blooming rhododendron and many more colourful flowers and chirping songs of birds will surely fascinate you. There are some homestays for accommodation, some groceries shops, and a forest village primary school in 10 minutes walking distance from the proper area. There is a watch tower from where beautiful view of Kanchanjungha can be seen if the sky is clear enough. The best time to visit Dhotrey is in the month of October to April.
