Well...I suggest the song...''Through The Looking Glass'! It is meant as a metaphor and fits how we have had to see the world in certain periods in recent years due to covid... empty streets, closed cafes and restaurants. This song came out about a year ago. Marcel also participated in the TV program 'it takes two' together with Loes Haverkort. he has sung 'creeps' and 'shallow' with her. Definitely worth checking it out!!! Btw...love your reactions! ❤
Again again and again spot on. Completely nailed it. Not only Marcel, everybody! Just so simple and complete. Nothing in there what is to much ore not enough… But yeah, what a voice, what a voice and what a group of musicians!!!
Well these guys are from The Hague a Dutch city…I was born in The Hague. They covered a song from the band The Golden Earring , Radar Love, also a Dutch band ( from The Hague)who stopped performing due to illness of one of the band members. Fact…the guitarist from Direct has a relationship with the daughter of the lead singer from The Golden Earring. Thanks for this one 🥰ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--bCADYDx8Js.html
I love that you've discovered my favorite band and I've been loving these reactions! 😍 DI-RECT was formed as a band in 1999. Jamie (the drummer) and his dad started looking for guys Jamie's age with a passion for music who would form a band with him. They found Spike (guitarist), Bas (bass guitarist) and Tim (previous singer). They were only 15-19 years old. Back in the day their music was much more "punkrock" and they kinda had boyband vibes with a lot of young girls as fans. In 2009 Tim decided to leave to band. They started a tv show to find a new singer and found Marcel (not only the best vocalist EVER in my opinion but also just a very cool and sweet guy). This started a whole new phase for the band as well as their music and also fanbase started to change. Paul Jan (guitarist) is also an official member of the band since 2016. They scored their biggest hit in 2020 with Soldier On, which kinda became the unofficial "Covid" anthem in the Netherlands. The last 2 years they had a few more popular songs in our country: Through The Looking Glass, 90s Kid and the one you just listened to which is their latest song. They truly are incredible! ❤ My recommendation for you guys to check out next is their cover of Radar Love on Radio 10!
He sang in a dutch programme It takes two, there he sings duets with artist its a wonderfull show and Marcel performs there like crazy i will send a link
Hi SueSue. You asked for a song by Di-rect of the early years with Tim Akkerman. We'll at that time early 2000 they sounded way different. I would suggest "inside my head" 😊 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NYdmopiy9Sc.html
Di-rect is from The Hague where there has been a rock/music vibe going on since the 70s. A lot of Indonesian musicians originally also. You probably know Golden Earring? The guitarplayer of Di-rect (Spike) is the son in law of Earring-singer Barry Hay.
Tim Akkerman did some very nice songs on the Beste Zangers. He did a cover: dear mister President. And another from this show : Breng hem thuis/bring him home With his old band Direct a great song was; Inside my head💕
The previous vocalist of Di-Rect, Tim Akkerman, was in Beste Zangers with Floor Jansen, and she sang his song Winner. Marcel Veenendaal is for sure a great vocalist too. Never mind, SueSue mentioned that too, haha. Teaches me not to react too early.
Something different I can advise you is the Belgian singer Tamino. Saw him live in Amsterdam last week and he's just brilliant!! (Think Cohen, Buckley but with Arab influences). The song Habibi will tear you up or try Indigo night. Would like to see your reaction to him ☺️
marcel veenendaal en loes haverkort zingen een poetische versie van creep i am shure you love this one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-o6ewbbLFDIk.html
