Also, a good thing to do so you DONT lose your static map, go to your C:\Users\*name*\Saved Games\Diablo II Resurrected file and COPY your .d2s character file to another location. That way if you accidentally lose your map by clicking into NM or Norm you just copy your old file. The only downside is if you've leveled up or have more items than before you will lose them UNLESS you store everything you find on a second character OR your shared stash. So basically make a backup copy of your static map char file and rename it so you have the map
You can also do this if you roll a terrible runeword with expensive runes LOL. ill admit, when I rolled my Infinity and first CTA, I kept reloading the old file till I got a X/6/X CTA and a perfect infinity. I didnt farm all them hours to get a 1 off anti-perfect Infinity
Definitely open everything, even baskets can drop high runes! I found a Gul rune in one, an Um & Hel rune in the same log! I've found so many medium & high runes in LK, most of them NOT from the super chests
Weapon and Armor racks often tend to drop the same stuff. So you can actually reset the map until u get some really good bases from them. That way you can easily get 15ed armor/weapon bases or even uniques.
Yes, thats true. But the downside is if you have a bad rack it stays bad. Currently I have one that drops Akaran Targe 30-50% of the time (it was >80% in the beginning, but got slowly worse, now I have quite a few field plates mixed in). I got a 38 and 39 all res Akaran Targe with 4 sockets so far. But the other one only drops normal gloves. Always.
It helps save a few second each run to go back to the WP and back to act4 before you leave the game. That act3 run to the WP is annoying if you do this with a sorc or any char that doesnt have vigor. I swear, it takes just as long to run to the WP in act3 as it does to do the entire chest run. Just go back to act4 and exit to save 3-4 seconds
I'm on such a bad streak at the moment that I start questioning if it's even worth it. The best rune from the super chests in the last 600 runs was a LUM rune. The second best a SHAEL. During the same time I got a VEX, KO, 2 LUMs and 2 DOLs from standard chests and mobs in LK. My luck with high runes is generally very bad. In 1500 LK runs and everything else I did in D2R i never got anything higher than a OHM rune. I just want to make an Enigma for faster farming but even if I cube everything I still only will get one BER. I play singleplayer on players 7. I'm also very inefficient because I open/kill way to much stuff on the way. So one run takes me 2-3 minutes. I think if the super chests would drop a bit better it would be easier to leave the other stuff. But the more frustrated I get with the super chests the more I open/kill everything else to get at least something. I was really thinking to stop doing LK runs but then my first VEX dropped from a standard chest. That at least kept me somewhat motivated. I had the perfect layout but accidentally clicked on nightmare. Now I have a decent layout but nowhere as good. Bot centers are right beside each other but a bit away from the portal (around the same as for you).
No, the most important thing is that you cannot get a map that stays the same. Online the map is different each time you start a game. Besides that you need players 7. This is something you can only set yourself in offline games. Online you really need 6 other players in your game.
Dunno, i've done hours of LK runs for runes, opening every container on my way and never found anything noteworthy. Found alot of charms and gems tho. I'm probably just unlucky.
yeah you play offline but the map are scriptet if u run over and over the same map you found over and over the same shit ... i run in my offline map 2 runs and found every run in the same random chest a Ber .. after this i quit offline for ever ... of you run the same map yeah u can find a high rune but if this map Bad script ^^ u will Never find any thing else ^^ sorry ...
@@edk1098To do what he is referring to, you must use the -seed setting when you start a game to fix the random number seed. In this scenario, if you make exactly the same clicks to open chests, they will drop exactly the same loot
Uh, in order for this to happen you have to use -seed ### while launching the game to override the random number generator and manually specify the seed number the game starts with. Even then, there is no such thing as a "bad map script" because the drops are also randomized based on your exact clicks, as well as what zone you used a WP to enter LK. There is so much wrong with your description of how it works, I wonder if you actually even did it or not
I have never heard about this, I will look at it one day. But I don't think I'm going to use it to my advantage. Do you have a link where it is explained?
I know, but i really enjoy the game without all the cheats and hacks. I don't use mods as well. Only the program that tracks my holy grail progress. And yes sometimes i ask myself why. But then again is all wasted time, playing games, isn't it :)
@@tbl268it is the biggest waste of time. Doing that is like you're not even playing the game. Just playing to open chests. Not even killing anything. Seriously people who do this are sad.
@@billypappas6811 it's one of the best ways to get HR's especially playing single player. D2 is a grind man. I've run tons of LK and usually there's champ packs that spawn around the chests and I've found great stuff from those as well.
Thx for this comment, it is in a certain way a strange way to collect the high runes. But if I compare it with my Holy Grail mission. Running the pits for 1000+ times is also a waste of time :)
@@billypappas6811 I'm not sure what argument you think you're making here. There isn't a whole lot of content in Diablo 2. It has always been about trying to find the best items subject to RNG and the best item and skill combinations for fun. But high runes were extremely rare before D2R. This was an efficient way to find them because you can do it so quick and you can do a large number of runs. There are still monsters you will need to kill, unless you are tanky enough to ignore them. So, again, how is this different from anything else in the game? Sure, you don't have to farm like this if you don't want to. Nobody is forcing you. It's just a farming method that exists. No different than killing Mephisto, Andariel, Pindle, the Countess, etc.
