I actually started playing D2 a few months before D3 release becouse of D3 hype and then a i was disapoitend at D3 haah. This is all i want from a diablo game, D2 remaster!
@@TheWindstrikez1 Every time I try to play a classic-game. That's my experience. A WHAT THE HELL? These graphics used to be amazing....but this is... "unplayably ugly :/" I felt that way trying to play Deus Ex: GOTY edition before Human revolution came out
honestly one big thing that makes d2 so good is the fact that that we dont see everything and is being shwn as dark area, and opening a door, or sending out a fireball lights up the area as it moves forward its freaking amazing and very realistic in a way , there's just something about this mechanic that i think is amazing and more games should use it
@@memberofchat2825 It's all because of big publishers being greedy and giving developers very little time and unrealistic deadlines, which makes developers ship unfinished games. but gamers are to blame too, they've set the bar so low that developers can get away with shit like that. ( cause they know people will still pay for it ). it's honestly sad what gaming has come to these days.
Knowing that D3 took so many years that I ended school, started university and then finished my Master's degree I think I might be 40 before I see D4 and die before D5.
hope thye can get the rights to the music, if i remember correctly the original composer of the music was very unhappy with blizard after blizard north left.
It's not just the original sound effect. It is the actual original game. They just put a higher rendered graphics on top running at the same time. It is literally the same game, just with better graphics.
@@berkesaribiyik3641 the team that made diablo II was a sub set of blizzard called blizzard north, they left for creative differences i believe and went on to make other games like torchlight
@Butters Stotch diablo 3 is a good game. the same way that dark souls 2 is a good game. their downfall is they are both sequels to games that are both legendary in their own right. being a sequel to a game like that basically guarantees disappointment to the player because of how incredibly high the bar was set by it's predecessor
as far as I know, all of the environmental and item sound remained the sound, as well as voices, so expect just better graphics and gameplay but, the same overall tone of voices and environment from 20 years ago, I just couldn't imagine it. If only blizzard didn't fuck up Warcraft reborn
You’re young and I’m old. 😏 Before we were married, my wife and I had a 14-hour LAN marathon when LoD came out. That’s probably when I knew she was the one 😆
This game massively impacted my grades in High School. I remember lining up to buy the Lord of Destruction expansion...and over the past 20 years (can't believe it's been that long), I've returned to it 3 or 4 times and built up high level characters again. It probably is my all-time favourite game.
@@girthbrooks6414 Well yeah? A lot of new players consider him a roadblock due to his large health pool and the amount damage he's able to inflict upon you while slowing you down with an aura. It also doesn't help that the room you fight him in is a small featureless rectangle with little room to run and nothing to use against him.
@Enri I just watched 2 videos, then came up with the comment for what i just watched, couldn't decide to which one it applies more, so posted it on both ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Man, this looks so good. The updated menus look sleek, the element effects are much less janky too. Would love a closer look at the environments. Can't wait.
They really strayed too far with D3 graphics by making them too cartoony, glad they realized it was the wrong move for Diablo since it's a game with such dark horror themes.
@@redshift912 D4 is almost exactly the same as D3, just with slightly darker aesthetics. When I played it at Blizzcon '19, I thought they'd taken D3 and reskinned it. It was that similar.
I have a feeling it’ll be split between hardcore nostalgia players and newcomers. I’m picking up D2 and will play it as long as I am able to. The one thing that turns me off about D4 is the move for the game to always be online. I get why but I’m just not a fan of it. I like my games to be offline but have a secondary option to go online if I want to play with friends.
Totally agree. I mean I still have some hopes for D4 but when I saw some off the items, they did make me worried somewhat. Again these simplified stats like D3, that was one of the biggest misses D3 had.
@@sirreyes2362 It looks really good so far tbh, I know what you mean but this time I hope that they have learned the lesson and it seems like it. Let's see how it goes bro
Just found about this a couple days ago. Can’t freaking wait. I started out on Diablo 1 then 2 when it came out and lod when that came out. I enjoy Diablo 3 but this, this is what I’ve been waiting for. Couldn’t care less about Diablo 4 now. 🤣🤣
Hahha I rem spending an insane amount of time on this back in the day...I played the alpha of D2 Ressurected..I can't goddamn wait. Gonna be a pain to make me full Tal Rasha blizzard sorc again....that armour and Ammy is such a pain to find.
Can’t wait for d2 resurrected man. This game was a big part of my life growing up. I even learned how to type on this game when I was 6 years old. It’s going to be quite a feeling creating that first char on Resurrected... that epic character selection screen.
Glad I'm not the only one who sees this! Other devs would make a lot of changes that would change the feeling of the game completely, such as the way characters move, for instance. Or they would make spells look way too explosive and over the top.
This game taught me how to type and type fast in the dark, without looking at keyboard. By the time I was taking a computer class in school I was a pro!
@@simescoun22009 Blizzard is not what it used to be. Anyone with eyes can see it. They don't deserve Activision level hate but they've been pretty crappy lately.
@@Syntherus i don’t see that at all you all live in a dream is all, thinking companies gotta blow you, you don’t give em time and above all you don’t respect the devs who put their passion into creating the games we love
@@simescoun22009 Except that Blizzard-Activision has done really terrible "missteps" the past few years, and people are getting extremely tired of them not listening to the community anymore, people don't just dislike blizzard for no reason, because there are plenty. But, I do agree that they do serve praise where praise is due, like with this remaster.
@@Dead25m from where I've stood, this Blizz hate trend all started when fans threw a big hissy fit when no D4 news came out in 2018, and Immortal was revealed instead. Obviously we now know they were working on D4 all along, they just weren't at a point to share anything yet. Now, it turns out that Immortal game is actually looking pretty fun, and in no way will take away from the Diablo franchise that is currently in full swing. Much of that outrage is what is still fueling the anger at this company. There's been other misteps by the company depending on your political beliefs, but just from Blizzcon 2018 alone the fans absolutely share in the blame.
And these simplified stats in D3 are horrible. Every character goes attack speed, crit, vit and main stat. thats basicly it. In D2 there's so much more.
@@DonSanchez well still better than 1 and 2, gear is a joke, equivalent to that of an actual shitshow. That said, dps is too high even on higher difficulty in 3 making the game easier.
Absolute masterpiece. Played since I was 6 so many years went into this game... wow. Don't even have a pc but I'm buying one just for this game. And a second copy on my Xbox to try it out there too. So excited holy sh
Make that 51 and the sound effects and music give me goosebumps. This is the true successor of the franchise. I am quite happy for now! Hopefully D4 will be an improvement of the already legendary tried and tested D2 formula.
I'm crying!!!!! it's so good to see this happening...it looks amazing, and i can't wait to play this wonderful game another time...i hope they will use the original soundtrack...
Anyone with same memories? As a kid, after the first-ever few struggling hours of playing, when you realize that magic and rare items you thrown away the whole time are totally useable, you just need to identify them. It was a special, own achievement finding out these huge details and you were a hero in your class when you shared the info. Todays games are behaving like they were made to mentally ill children with the millions of tips, tutorials and ingame supports.
I just recently finished another run on Diablo 2 because I'm remembering my childhood games and replaying them, and just in time to see it gets remastered. I'm crying rn
Hopefully this gets old players and new players playing the game. It's easily one of the best games of all time in terms of game design and mechanics. It's great to see it getting updated graphics like this.
@@rawdmon Oh fuck yeah it will lmao. Plus this game is gonna have GLOBAL servers AND CROSS PLATFORM! At no change to how skills work either! Like, its just diablo 2, expansions and all, very likely uber too, BUT IN HD!
Being a player since d1 I've waited so long for this glorious announcement. Here's to that feeling of excitement when a high level player comes in your game and hostiles you while you're dong baal run's CHEERS!
Something's wrong with the gaming industry when the most anticipated games are remasters/remakes of old games. Modern games have graphics, but they have zero atmosphere, no immersion, bad music and sound design etc. They do not get stuck in our heads and don't awaken the imagination. Sux.
The Studio that Made Reforge was dissolved while a studio that has a really good track record with faithful remakes and remasters are hired to make Diablo 2 Resurrected.
@@MIREZ resurrected is on there for pre register, for original you have to go to your account then games/subscriptions and find diablo2 lod down by the bottom*edit you can also then shortcut it to desktop makes it easier
Oh the nostalgia. I’m so happy they did this. Been saying for years I wish they would update the graphics and re release Diablo 2. They have tweaked some other things as well but so far seems really good. Between this and mass effect legendary edition at least I will have some good games to play while the world goes to hell.
look at the second clip of amazon in the end of her running. she runs in one direction and then immediately goes the opposite, there is an animation of amazon switching stance to run in another direction from already running in one. impeccable
I’m impressed at the level of thought put into this Changing direction drastically has a model animation Also, the Audio comes out differently in the speaker depending on where your character is from its source, especially Mephisto’s footage Sad thing is walking animation feels hovering
Not only is Diablo 2 Resurrected a faithful remaster of the original game, but also it looks even *BETTER* than Diablo IV graphics-wise as well! Great job, Vicarious Visions! :D
@@dogmakd.9436 Diablo IV looks good, but Diablo 2 art style is still far ahead. It looks like they've gone for an art style to please their new chinese fanbase, and the game looks a bit like an asian MMO while retaining the "flashy" and braindead feeling cherished by said audience.
Played the vanilla version, back in 2000....2001....for a long, very long time. Buying weapons and armors with money... I still remember the names of some of the most remarkable ones i had, back then: balrog skin, various SOJs,a windforce with good stats, but not the perfect one,a buriza with good stats too but not perfect too because they was too expensive in those times. Almost forgot: my fav char was the Amazon. Had around 4 different equipped chars but played with her for 2 or 3 times more than the others. Used her for MF,PvP and for rushdown chars to hell too! Remember doing Cow Levels and being robbed constantly too with my Amazon. Basically due to her long distance attacks and her guided arrows, killing most of the enemies with large distances because my used distances to fight... Great times.
@@rawdmon ya it's definitely not the original d2 underneath. Like Zach said, they lost the source code. It looks like it's on the D4 engine. Looks a bit sluggish and laggy actually. You can see the lag most obviously in the announcement trailer when the druid hurricanes the shock scarabs.
@@SeverelyDainBramaged What the hell are you even talking about 🤦 It's "laggy and sluggish" because it's running on 25-fps timing as the original game. The lower performance and frame rate at times, however, is concerning.
@@monapow1 belive me almost nobody would enjoy that way of playing, especially games like this jewel. One of the adherent parts of the complete feeling in D2 if you hammering the keyboard hotkeys and forgetting yourself in front of the screen for hours.
I don't need Diablo IV at the moment - just finish this one and take my money. I'll take 2 week vacation, sent all relatives away, switch old WinAmp for 2000 hits like 'Corrs - Breathless' or 'U2 - Beautiful Day'. No FB, mobo games, covid etc. Just me, my amazon and my 17 years old. Switch the Time Machine, I'm ready
