I thought Rogue crossed with Barbarian...So basically Amazon. It could go your way too, although that pole-arm does not look like the weapon of a spellcaster. It still could be Monk-like.
Why not a Spanish Conquistador type class? Kill two birds with one stone. You get your armored, pious warrior class that fits the theme of Central American exploration but even better because now you are an outsider journeying into this land and also you get to innovate on mechanics instead of doing the same old paladin knight stuff. Armored yes, but less warhammer and longsword and more poleaxe, blunderbuss or rapier. A conquistador might function differently than a paladin in that maybe they aren't holy-healing focused and more holy-destructive and can possibly incorporate ranged attacks more than a typical paladin would.
I actually loved the detail. The captain you fight with uses all the same spells as they did in D2. Also, I couldn't pin it, but I think music of that dungeon was related to the Iron Wolves; possibly in D3?
I spent 20 dollars on breakfast at McDonald’s this morning, I think everything in the world is ridiculously priced, at least this will give me hours of fun.
PoE has shown with multiple seasons that mercenaries are not fun, season of the construct has shown that mercenaries are not fun, Diablo 3 has shown that mercenaries are not fun. Annnnnd they make Mercenaries one of the main features of the first expansion... What? The Spiritborn is cool to me as it's finally something fresh and new but everything else already sounds totally outdated and missing the mark. Pets are just another way to sell cosmetic they are not a feature let's be honest. Give us more spells for every class, more parangon boards. Not more 25 bucks overpriced BS on a rotating store that does everything in its power to sell you BS.
I agree this is getting ridiculous, I'm glad I got out of this endless cycle of bullshit early but still pissed off I spent $100 to get a game that still isn't what it should have been on release. I'm just gonna wait for PoE 2, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this regard.
They better not make this forced interaction. I want to be able to solo it all, with multiplayer only as an option. I don't want to be forced to play with randos when my friends are not online. That's why I discontinued playing any and all MMOs.
I really hope they reworked the skill trees. For raids initial reaction is negative, this aint supposed to be a mmo, but I guess we have to wait to know more details...
Yeah, D4 is already heavily biased to group play and they seem to be pushing it more to MMO with this expansion. As a solo player I'm feeling pretty meh

7:00 well you definitely read my mind here. I want to play the game alone, being forced to group for Duriel or surrender the 4x efficiency rotations is already super annoying, so the thought of having raids in this game does not appeal to me at all. Here's to hoping you can just bring 4 mercenaries instead of players or something.
@@jessewallace3805 That's kind of subjective but here are my personal reasons: I like playing at my own pace mostly, and I also like being responsible for everything on the screen and gauging my own progress, not having to wonder if I'm carrying or getting carried. I also need to AFK frequently
I am fine with the raid or whatever so long as the matchmaking is done well and done in game. I don't want to have to open a reddit lfg post just to do an activity.
They don't care what time or money you've spent. They care about the time and money you will spend. That's why new players get the discount, and you don't.
@@ZimaCyberia Incorrect but ultimately meaningless. In the store right now, buying the standard base game and the dlc separately cost more than the bundle. Obviously. So if you subtract the standard base game cost from the bundle you get.... Wait for it.... A discount on the dlc!
@@damaark21honestly, you can look at that from both ways. You either get a discount on the base game or the dlc. It doesn't really matter as a discount is a discount. Just don't really understand why people are so angry about it. Example: People buy a game at launch and further down the line a game of the year version is being released with all DLC that came out for the game. For the price of the base game when it was fully released. And you don't see people shouting from the rooftops about that.
This could be controversial but why the hell an AAA company doesn't show the new class in their expansion reveal? What am I going to do with mounts and pets or other cosmetics? You should be selling gameplay plus maybe some story, not side products! Show me the class! Also, I say no for raids. And I hope story doesn't move on from angels - demons and struggle of humanity in between, to some weird eldritch lovecraftian stuff. Blizzard overall writing garbage as it gets already, at least they should protect the core/heart of the story. Diablo universe should stay in Diablo universe, no need to turn this into wow side product.
pretty normal pricing for an expansion so not sure why you're upset, elden rings expansion is 40$, most of you people spend money on mtx anyways on other games costing hundreds yearly. Long as its sizeable with whats included which seems to be the case outside of just story then its similar in cost what bungie also asks for destiny 2 and its expansions and technically for d2 you have to pay 100 or more if you actually want everything, unlike here the base 40 includes everything outside of cosmetics. So the pricing is fine, people were worried it was going to start at 100$
Well considering I purchased the deluxe edition ($100) at launch, them asking for another $40 for a game I've barely enjoyed until recently is BS. I don't care what people were worried about, $40 for an expansion for a game that's FINALLY playable a year later is absolute rubbish.
That trailer went really hard on the horror aspect, very well done. I'm glad to see that the new class won't be the next X pseudo-tank, so I'm actually excited to check it out. But let's be honest: we're all in it for the dogs.
@@yulfine1688 What?? They're right next to the Skovos Isles, surely their Sages, mystics or whatever would feel Mephisto's energy approaching... of course it would make sense.
@Jimbozinya well, you'd have to look at lore. A lot of them were killed in d2 and in d3 the majority of the world was killed off something like 97% I think. While there may be some left it is unlikely and either way it ties into akarat which is the paladin and crusader which rose on that area.
Maybe raids will be like World bosses and legions, random set of people to join up with. Lessening the issue of grouping for those of us who solo play. Maybe not but that would be one way to avoid the lack of a group finder and also avoid forcing people into chats etc...
I strongly believe the devs would not screw us over by making co-op mandatory for new content. I believe it will most likely be some sort of public dungeon or something where multiple people can come and go. Not sure how they plan on doing that but it could work on a timer with a new world boss as the final dungeon encounter because as we know there are builds that can solo world bosses with relative ease. I will remain optimistic because the devs have earned it so far with season 4.
ngl. I'm disappointed about that myself. But we don't know the full story yet. I think it would be really weird for them to introduce forced group content. Even world bosses don't force you to find a group. If they do end up going that route, I am pretty darn sure they will reverse course soon after when everyone complains about it.
i don't wanna play with toxic idiots who think their trash build is worthwhile. you just slow people down because everything is scaled to meta efficiency. that means you're actively disregarding others wants and desires because you literally don't care about them. that's basically griefing others. we would rather you play by yourself too.
I wonder how the raid will be tuned. In a game like D4, it sounds like it would be VERY difficult to make it accessible to a decent percent of players while not making it extremely easy to people running full meta builds. Maybe it will be tuned around meta builds and is only expected to be completed by high-end players to receive unique rewards or even cosmetics? Or maybe there’s even a way to scale the difficulty and rewards? I’m interested to see how they approach it
About the part of new skills, I really hope they finally give Sorcerer their 3rd enchantment slot. Being a Sorc main, that's the biggest thing missing in my opinion.
Crazy thing about the lore, it can be changed on a whim! They don't even have to justify it or anything. If they wanted Crusaders to have a reason to exist, they could literally just make it up and disregard anything they've ever said in the past because consistency isn't a thing in Diablo anyway :D
@@theMagos This. But in all seriousness, must we bitch about everything? I'm growing very tired of these whiny asshats who never seem to be satisfied.
I would be okay with raids like the world bosses. Have to have a minimum level and item power and everyone on the server just auto loads into the raid like the world bosses currently do.
The expansion looks great but I am STRONGLY against any instanced play that cannot be soloed. If I wanted to play an MMO I would buy one. I cannot think of ONE other Diablo style ARPG that forces you to do group play and it is a precedent that will kill the genre for me (Lost Ark is an MMO with the trappings of an ARPG). It's bad enough to have to group for world bosses where there is almost invariably some moron who is literally sitting there AFK. Instanced content that requires you to pay attention to mechanics with a random group? No thank you.
Raids just seem like a bad idea to me, as they are typically designed around try hard guilds due to players needing to communicate to get a higher than average rewards with the more players that take part. It's always going to be better to do a raid with more people than solo, otherwise doing a raid would be pointless other than doing it for fun, unless it has unique drops or something, then it might as well be called a rift all over again. Then it's going to sudo penalise casual players for not being able to take part with efficient guild raids. Will be interesting to see how they get around this problem, if they do at all.
Everything looks good to me. And for all the insufferable crying over this last year about an "over priced, $70 game expansion"; the base expansion is only $40. That's I felt the worry about cost was overblown and pointless before the price reveal. As for raids, as long as they are optional, I'm fine with them existing. Everyone has their own idea of what fun is and far be from me to say something shouldn't exist because its not my thing as a solo player. Where raids would become an issue is if they became required to complete objectives and locking off required content. If raids are handled with similar mechanisms that world bosses and PvP areas are, everything should work. Heck, I think Blizzard introduced pets and mercenaries to ensure that if a solo player hits a raid zone, they would have a CPU partner to help out like "Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime".
@@jbanks9491 Lol I have plenty of friends in the real world. My PC video game playtime is on my own, so no, I don't need to make fake friends for their sake.
spiritborn looks really lame. nothing would ever top the necromancer for me unless they bring the witch doctor back or a warlock or something unique that is more magic and/or minion based. the only way D4 even had a chance to be good tho was if Diablo was actually in the game first of all and second, they could've changed combat. nothing has really changed from Diablo 3, but 2 is still the best. then ff7 rebirth dropped and that's the most fun combat system I've experienced. playing a Diablo game with that kind of combat would be great.
Unfortunately for me, I will not be buying any of the expansions. I feel Blizzard released a incomplete product and they over charge. I gave up after season 1 came back to play this season and its a move in the right direction but imo there are better games to play that offer more in the ARPG genre. If the expansion was like $25 I would consider so I will look for it to be on sale a few years down the line. The FACT that they are now selling PETS shows you Blizzard does not give 2 shitz about anything but profits. The should be focusing on the base game and a more expansive skill system before they go and spend time on selling us pets. Mercs is good news...but I fear they will find a way to f it u0p and the design of them look stupid. Also...all I want is a Paladin/Cleric class.
I already play an MMO so don't want another. Diablo was a great single player game because it gave you the feeling of being a solo fighter against the hoards. Things could be dark and isolated and atmospheric. Today D4 you run around with mobs of other players, unless you're in a dungeon, and you are just a face in the crowd. Who asked for this? Were there lots of Diablo fans wishing it was an MMO? I can't help but think a bean counter at Activison (because that's who owned them when D4 was made) ran the numbers and found a MMO is more profitable over time. The fans and genre of the game are irrelevant when there is profit to be made. Exhibit A: Diablo Immortal.
90 FUCKING EUROS FOR THE ULTIMATE EDITION OF A DLC !?!?!? ARE YOU MENTAL ??? 40 euros for a new zone and a new class. Im not buying shit from blizzard ever again. D4 90 euro was my last purchase.
Forcing me to team up in an arpg for raids, when I exclusively want to play chill after work by myself is an automatic no. Hopefully there is a solo option or I imagine this will not go over well.

we are, it was one of the things they confirmed for DLC campaign plans shortly after release, and depending how well they do we may get more then just 3 and have other evils as bosses that havent been seen yet in D4 (azmodan, beliel)
An expansion on the lesser evils is not needed. They can include them as a midway point boss easily and stick to prime evils being final bosses of an xpac.
What we really need to cap the game off is the final expansion having the big "Original Evil" or whatever that apparently all 7 Prime/Lesser Evils came from back when it was just one all-encompassing Super Evil. If that doesn't sound like a final boss for Diablo, I don't know what does.
They way they killed off Deckard Cain made me lose all hope for them to handle future characters and yeah, every other character since have proved me right... They are all over the top Hollywood horror/heroic version of what used to be subtle Gothic masterpieces. A character screaming with black ooze covered face migth look cool but in a Gothic horror have game like diablo it's so formulaic that it's borderline generic and very boring attempt to redeem a story by someone who never actually had an idea of what diablo was about themselves! And fyi, I'm talking about diablo 1 and 2, the problems started with 3 and can't be saved unless they retcon everything and start anew from the end of LoD.
They do this in Diablo Immortal, you go to the dungeon and team up with random people also waiting outside the dungeon, it's...fine I guess but not great. Sorta like World Bosses, then you go solo again afterwards.
@@piktok1 Yep. This strikes me as if it's going to either be too easy that it will disappoint people, or it will be completely inaccessible to most people. Seems like just a generally dangerous area for them to get into, and I hope they rethink requiring multiple people for it.
