Yes, I used it for a little bit. They're definitely good for capping crit if you have a 40% roll but losing the life & Temper (for a CC proc) is a little rough so I stopped using them. I think if I fix my Ring & Amulet to have crit chance and get crit as a tempered affix on gloves my crit should be high enough to not need the boots.

Good old RNG is RNG, after playing with Godslayer a bit on the one hand the burst damage is very nice, on the other hand for something (like Pit) I'm not sure I'm a fan because it tends to drag explosion elites on top of me and I can't always see them in between the bouncy fireballs.

I think it might ultimately fall off in high pit / infernal but it's an awesome starter and has helped me farm everything I need for another build including several mythic uniques.

@@Tenkiei Going for that Lightning Spear Sorc build perhaps? Getting those gylphs to 21 and might swap if I get the right unique neck rolls.

Boss damage is the build's weakness, especially if you don't have good tempers & masterworks. Do you have +2 mana on your gloves of the illuminator and some Fireball rank masterworks on your Staff of Endless Rage?

@@Tenkiei I have masterwork 8 in gloves with a GA on fireball so it’s at +5 rank and +3 mana with the skill dealing 2% less damage . staff is at rank 8 with chance at fireball projectiles at 106% . I’ve been hunting for a GA staff

I find damage numbers to be too much of a distraction/screen clutter especially with the spammy builds, so typically I keep them off. This is why I showcase content like tormented bosses.

That's a tough one, 898 vs 925 is a lot of damage, but so is a GA endless rage, I'd go hit the dummy with damage numbers on. If it's much higher with one then use that. If you really can't tell a difference I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I did not know this was a thing, I'm guessing these were added in Season 3/4? I didn't play 3 at all, played 4 a little but got bored while leveling.

Tooltips in D4 are notoriously buggy, then again D4 as a whole is notoriously buggy... But as far as I am aware, yes Searing Heat works even if it's not tracked in the tooltip. If you wanted to test this you could get a pyromancy skill to 88% crit chance, then hit the dummy a bit. Remember to remove burn effects / check other crit conditionals. If you see white (non-crit) hits, it's bugged. If you only see yellow (crits) it's working as intended and the tooltip doesn't reflect this.

I too swapped nova for ice blade and it feels way better.

That's a good idea, since it's also another stun source via Invoked Lightning Spear.

@@Tenkiei yup, and vulnerable dmg too. This buikd does okay dmg but its damage is mainly when they are vulnerable. I use a ring with 30% chance to cause vulnerable also and everything is vulnerable the entire time and my dmg has been crazy. Standing in town no buffs I am at 188,000 fireball dmg. It hits like a truck

Yeah I have the Vulnerable lucky hit as well, because of how I've built most of my damage happens during a stagger window on the boss so having extra CC procs to stagger bosses faster is excellent. So far Lightning Spear has felt great so TYVM for the suggestion!

No you can’t. You’d be losing a lot of damage as every time the fireball bounces it hits.

Not really. The staff and gloves give too much damage and sustain, you will need to use bouncing fireballs

Even if it's technically possible, you're not going to have a good time either on mana sustain or damage without bouncy fireballs.

There's a good bit of RNG in getting unique drops, but you can always try farming Grigore or the Beast in Ice.

@@Tenkiei yeah, that's what I have been doing. Will get then eventually, just annoyed by the farm for Boss mats

If you have some friends also farming for stuff the best thing to do is pool your mats together.

Gotta love the old "RNG is RNG." After having messed with it a bit, the pull is definitely great when speed farming.

Thank you, when I was playing Firewall I did indeed have Hydras as well, but I didn't follow a leveling build, make a solid plan, or do anything formal. For that portion of my gameplay, just clicked all the fire skills and cruised through until WT4 when I got my gloves & staff.
