@@roelfjoubert1128 Check out the CG trailers for Armored Core games. For CG cinematics, Dino Crisis , Parasite Eve, Final Fantasy, Tekken, Onimusha 3 and Halo 2 MCC etc have some really nice stuff. If you want to watch another Blizzard trailer, check out the intro for starcraft 2, its extremely memorable. My current personal favorites are the intros for Lost Odyssey and Final Fantasy VII Remake.

But hey that is not all... because not only did people killed daemons/prime evils (since they were killing us etc too) but we got to save the angel's heaven from falling! Our reward...? Cost too much to make. These 1-2 min shorts cost them 5 million to make. A 1.5 hour movie would prob cost more 200 million.

Very true. Honestly really emphasizes that chant at the beginning 0:20 and the whole aesthetic of the knights. Hopefully they have a full version of that chant between the priest and soldiers. A legion marching under the light.

It does. The reveal trailer also have a frame of Inarius being tortured by Mephisto as Lillith is was being summoned back to Sanctuary. This game seems like its going to be going very very heavy into the background lore

@@Beastbudoo meaning this may be that very same 'group of light' that inarius has formed from long ago. trying to seal her alongside their illusive leader who is right above that army of knights and that prophetess(?) right now in this cutscene. this may probably indeed(?) be an ancient flashback. but this scene has to be happening during in the attempt to banish her away a 2nd time. due to the 'cathedral of light' faction not yet existing during when inarius first banished her.

Is it though? Humans have overcome all of hells obstacles in Diablo….even where Heaven and it’s angels are unable or have failed.

Those might not even be angels, but Nephalim. Also, Angels were never the "Good guys" in Diablo lore. When Heaven realized that Sanctuary existed they did a vote on if they should eliminate all life on the planet. Tyrael was the last vote that tipped the scales in our favor.

Angels weren't 'the good guys' in 3 They stayed neutral and through pride let themselves get conquered. Tyrael literally became mortal to continue being a 'good guy' because he was bound as an angel by the bureaucracy of the Angiris Council

Not afaik, our hymn are usually of Christian orthodox content, that’d be a very tricky situation to navigate, but, our language is ancient enough to fit the theme of an OG language in Sanctuary

Fits perfectly actually to go with Greek in this case instead of Latin. Even though of course Diablo is the christian mythos, the angels in the game resemble Greek gods more than the christian god. They are arrogant, vain, angry and selfish. They resemble humans in many more ways than the christian god does, much like the ancient Greek gods did. P.S. I am a Greek native and could absolutely not tell this was greek lol.

The cinematics definitely improved in looks, but the old ones I felt had so much more feel to it. The expressions were much better.

I still can't believe they don't drop a tv-series or anime based off these. So much lore so many episodes.

@@GordonSeal When was this the case? Unless something's changed, blizzard cinematics have been in-house up until the recent Overwatch 2 cinematics. Diablo 2 Remake's cinematics were also presumably Blizzard. So...got any sourcing and proof for this?

@@darrenong9064 With the amount of staff being laid off or leaving within the last 4 years it's a safe assumption. How else is the work going to be done and schedules maintained? You start running at an employee deficit then the only way to make up the numbers again is to outsource asap and with that invariably comes a drop in quality because they would need the the staff fast and ergo won't be as picky in whom they select for a particular role.

I thought there were only 5 archangels (I only played D3). Malthael, Tyriel, Itheriel, I can't remember the other 2, but if Inarius is back (like I thought he would be after seeing Lilith) and an archangel, either D3 left that part out, or angels and demons can rise to higher ranks.

Sadly you can't base any game from it's cinematic, for if you do, everyone will be sadly disappointed. Just need to wait for actual game play to be release, more importantly gameplay we can all play, to make an informed decision.

The only horror elements in this game are the MTX injected into a full-price retail game. Otherwise it looks blander than an old brick.

D3 was an excellent game.

Love how she isn't even phased she just walks off WALKS while she is in ranged of her own death, she doesn't even get stunned when he throws his glavie at her. This is a boss who is powerful in what they can do. Love it.

Well, in this case, it's a pretty nice shorthand for "hey look, it's a Paladin, but not _the_ Paladin from D2". Same character design so the role is instantly recognizable, just gender-swapped so you know it's not the same individual character.

the cinematic was beautiful yes, but let not forgot how bad D3 was at launch and for well past that, as well as how greedy blizzard has become. I do not have my hopes up for this game, i'm worried it's going to be all hype and no sustinance, and this time, i most certainly will not be buying at launch, ill be waiting nearly a year before even considering it

So it seems we will get quality all around , i remain cautiously optimistic. I fallowed closely the development of D4 and i really hope this game will be the start of Blizzard redemption arc .

Blizzard didn't make the cinematics, they outsource them.

Unfortunately the cinematics are the only fully developed features in this game.

Well your character has to be able to mow down legions of monsters by himself and then defeat Diablo, there's no way around that.
