I see a few people asking about malignant hearts, you'll want to get Tempting Fate from WT3 (huge crit damage increase), Vile Apothecary from WT4 (change to apply imbuements to all attacks), and Trickery from any WT (shadow that taunts for survivability and grouping enemies). If you're missing these, you can supplement in Cluster Munitions from any WT (stun grenades for CC), Revenge from WT3 (nice amount of DR), or Prudent Heart from WT3 (helps to not get one-shot by stuff).
Multi-million crits and that's AFTER the patch update. This build is insanely powerful and incredibly fun to play, perfect for jumping into Season Of The Malignant!
I've been using barrage since almost the beginning to level all the way up to 100. Couple of things you might want to try: instead of caltrops, the aspect that drops grenades whenever you dodge or shadow step and the one that spreads cc would be a more reliable way to freeze enemies. And taking shadow step (over dash) and concealment (over caltrops) give you 2 ways to break cc in a pinch
Very curious about this recommendation, as I don't seem to be freezing as much as anticipated. So you would swap the aspect on the ring to shadow step drop grenades instead of with caltrops. What aspect would you replace for the Aspect of Shared Misery (One that spreads CC)?
Thanks man, I switched this over and it feels SO good. Having concealment and Shadow Step with the grenade aspect allows so much more control. And way more flexible for all scenarios. Fun in PvP too
@Ultrarunna so firstly I have to say this is a pretty solid build so thank you so much for that ! I started playing D4 about a month ago when I was bored with D3 however , since there is so many changes the only thing I can suggest is for the newer players try to explain how the paragon board works. I didn't find out until today that you can actually switch the boards if you are given the wrong board.
Awesome Guide but your link is missing 25 paragon points. Can you update that or does it matter whats used at that point? And what about the hearts? @ultrarunna
Hey really nice build. I was looking some different build for season 1 and i think i just find it. What you think, is this build work with rapidfire? İ really like rapid fire over barrage
I like rapid fire also but after spending a week or so fine tuning this build it became stronger then rapid-fire. Not kidding this build absolutely slaps! Give it a try for season 1.
your rare glyphs on your paragorn boards are maxed out? who can realistically have a glyph this strong without an insane number of nightmare dungeons at very high levels to max out those?
Think I've found my S1 build. Just what I was looking for. Are we going to have problems with CC when not taking shadowstep - how do we mitigate getting CC locked with this build?
Also how would you compare this build to your Diablo 4 Rogue Cold Rapid Fire Build (which would would be more viable for S1 you think?) Or which one would you personally go for all-round? Btw, your content is nice man, subbed!
Honestly I would go with this build for Season 1. This build worked out perfectly and become ridiculously strong, the rapid fire build is strong also but this one has more burst potential. If you run into problems being Cc,ed I would go with Shadowstep but that should not happen often or not until you get into high NM dungeons and that will take awhile starting a fresh character. Both builds are powerful and it will come down to which play style you prefer
Choosing Shadow Strike means you have a skill with unstoppable. I see so many people struggle with builds because they think all you need it damage. It will happen that you need to move, you're CC'd in some way, and only having an unstoppable skill will save you. Double truth if you're on hardcore. If it really doesn't matter for the build, you should be recommending the one with unstoppable. And you didn't explain how to use a "7th skill" since you can't slot it on the bar, and it's bonuses only work when you have the shadows out.
Would you mind fill the stats in d4builds ? I want to use this build but I am not sure about what to look after. I am not a fan of Twisting Blades, Flurry and Pen Shot. Barrage feels so muche more than everything else. Great video, thank you
Been using this since level 50 or so in seasons. I just got to wt4 and cant wait to get ancestral upgrades for it. Im level 66 now and loving this setup. I have a level 100 rogue in non seasons that's penetrating shot and its cool but this is alot better. Would love an updated vid soon that includes best malignant hearts and end game paragon and gear stuff. Thanks a bunch for this setup
Thank you for the kind comments. Unfortunately I won’t be able to provide a update on the hearts, I’m currently on vacation and once I’m back I’m playing Druid for Season 1. Everything in this build will work great for S1 but obviously you will need to experiment with the hearts. Again appreciate your support! :)
The patch absolutely obliterated my builds survivability. I always like caltrops but could never figure out a way to use them effectively. I really like the way your build looks. I'm going to give it a try. Do you have issues with healing? You didnt take any points in Siphoning Strikes
Thank you! In regards to healing, for leveling I wouldn’t worry about it too much since most enemies don’t even have the opportunity to attack you before you kill them. With that said I would put points into healing once the build is ready for high NM dungeons, those are brutal and you do need them. Thank you for the comment and support!
@@ultrarunnagaming Thanks man! Yeah I'm trying to push high tier NMD's. I was thinking of using the 2 aspects for dark shrouds. The one that gives you a dark shroud for critical hits is a no brainer but the one where you stand still makes sense now since it also buffs the dark shroud orb with 4% extra DR. With 5 in dark shroud plus 4 from pants and the 4% per shroud you could be at like 75% DR when you have 5 active. I havent tested it but that was something I was thinking to get more defenses for high tiers. Thanks again man!
but how do you activate dark shrouds for the crit buff? also since you want to put your bow right on the enemies face for barrage to work how are you managing that distance from caltrops?
Hey that’s awesome! Unfortunately I don’t, I’m playing Druid for Season 1 so I haven’t had time to look into it. Yes this build is lights out OP once fully built. I assume with some of these Malignant hearts it will be ever stronger.
That’s awesome! Unfortunately I don’t have any recommendations for hearts currently enjoying vacation . I’ll be back next week. Appreciate your support :)
It would be overkill and we we have to remove a aspect and if we did that we would lose the grenade effect from caltrops that freeze enemies so it wouldn’t workout overall. The imbuement are already strong
I use dash for open world, once you get used to it you almost never get stunned. However if you want to you can always go with shadow step if you prefer. Won’t change the build at all
the build looks pretty fun, but would you recommend it for leveling? I was checking leveling guides and pretty much every guide recommend twisting blade, but that skill looks pretty boring
@@ultrarunnagaming Sweet! Saw it the other day, definitely love the way it plays. Was waiting for season 1 to play rogue and that seemed perfect for me...awesome build !!
@@ultrarunnagaming i got the shrouds aspect and even with them and yet im still getting destroyed because I cant sit still :/ . Thank you for responding and i loved your video, this build feels amazing but at level 90 i cant survive through anything anymore. It might be a skill issue too but i get cheap shotted and CCed a lot. The damage output is chefs kiss though
It's a shame you didn't show any footage of taking down a boss. I currently have a rapid fire/penetrating shot combo but have been wondering about using something different. I also tried switching from Puncture to other longer-range skills, but as you say they are too slow for generating combo points. One thing I did to though, was try using Primary Puncture instead of Fundamental Puncture - you don't get the three-bladed vulnerable hits, but at medium distance that isn't likely anyway and you do so much more damage per hit and the ricochets go a long way!
bonsoir merci pour cette video :) Un conseil à donner concernant les 3 coeurs à utiliser? et 2 ou 3 alternatives de ceux ci si on les loot pas de suite stp? merci ;-)
Am I correct you use your abilities as such Cold Imbue > Caltrops> Puncture > Shadow Imbue > Barrage? I am trying to figure out where the puncture fits in the rotation.
Yes. Puncture is used to generate combo points quickly and 30% of the time instantly. You usually just need to hit puncture one time. You do MUCH more damage with three combo points.
Congratulations on the build! I'm using it and I like it a lot! I had a doubt about the dark shroud, do you have to put the aspect on an item that in this case you put it in your pants (there it activates without having to) put it on the bar and keep the 6 correct skills?
@@federicoleggeri3302 I’m playing Druid for Season 1, figured I would switch it up after 10 rogue builds :). Eventually I’ll get through all the classes :).
I played it up to a 64 and I’m sure it can go higher, although I did not try higher after the patch, with that said Dark shrouds was not needed and the damage is definitely high enough to clear high tier NM dungeons. It’s a great build to jump into season 1, it’s going to take awhile to get up into those higher tiers when starting fresh. Appreciate the comment
Are you SURE Weapon Mastery node works? Because from what I can see, none of the values you're supposed to get by equipping the various weapons is reflected on the stat screen in any way. Unless they take the line "Gain a bonus WHEN ATTACKING based on weapon type:" LITERALLY and the bonus is only applied to the each individual attack's damage formula instead of your stats lol, which would be bonkers and improbable (but then again D4 loads all stash tabs of all players in range for no reason at all so I can't rule out absurdly idiotic design)
I explain it in the video but here it is. You must have the umbral aspect equipped and at lest 1 point into dark shrouds in the skill tree, preferably 3 points. Once you have both all you need to do to generate shrouds is critically strike your enemy
My intent for season 1 was to start with a barrage + preparation + 4x poison trap/death trap build until about level 60 and was getting bored. Problem was I wasn't really using barrage all that much and I was bored of relying on the DOT. Switched to this because it looked super fun. I'm struggling a bit, might be the learning curve of the rotation. I can see the potential. I'm hoping as I level the new glyphs I'm using now up a bit more it will catch up to where my other build was. Right now I'm a bit weaker than before I switched but I'm having fun!
@@ultrarunnagaming I was struggling with survival still on my first arrival to WT4. For now I swapped concealment in for dash. It pairs nicely with the heart that drops a taunter down when you subterfuge because I can conceal/run in safely, drop caltrops in the path the monsters are heading toward my shadow taunt from the heart and they walk right in. It helps keep me from getting nuked by the stragglers that don't get frozen right away. I miss having cold imbue on the dash as part of your suggested combat rotation but this seems to be a really good option for anyone struggling with surviving. Made a huge difference for me. Edit: I also wanted to add upon using the build I was dying to CC a lot and concealment helps with that as well. Just options for people who aren't as optimized yet.
Was wondering if you could add the recommended stats for the gear on your build page under the aspects. I'll be playing rogue first time and unsure what stats go where by heart, so would be nice to have a written down version on 2nd monitor while playing for smoother progress
I can do that but don’t have the time for the next few days. Try to prioritize Attack speed, critical chance, crit damage, vulnerable damage. In your first 40-50 levels just use what you have since you will be changing gear often as you level so I wouldn’t focus much on the stats until later
Can anyone help explain the rotation here? Currently I am 63 and while I am missing the boots, I have a very good set of crit gear with all aspects. Currently I am: Imbue my weapons with Cold, Run around to gather large pack of mobs, Dash through them once or twice with dash to spread Chill effect, Drop Caltrops in the middle of group, Imbue weapons with Shadow Unleash Barrage until energy is depleted, hoping this nukes most of pack down. Then its just spamming Puncture enough to reapply Shadow, drop caltrop and nuke again. I don't seem to be freezing the enemies as much as I would like. Is this due to missing the boots to provide additional chill/frozen affect? The only way I feel I can freeze them is if I run the following method: Imbue with cold, gather pack, dash, drop caltrop, hit barrage with Cold Imbue, spam puncture to get energy to then imbue with shadow barrage. (I feel like with the method I am suffering a huge loss in DSP, and more often than not, am just spamming puncture to gain energy while waiting for imbue cooldown to reapply) I'm really loving this build but would appreciate a little assistance to ensure I am utilizing the rotation to its fullest. Seems like I am missing something to freeze the mobs properly, but still allowing shadow to blow them up.
Ive been trying this build from 1-55 so far. I dont have the perfect setup but what i try to do is imbue my weapons with cold, set a caltrop and use barrage once while enemies are in the caltrop, this usually freezes them. Then i hit shadow imbue and use barrage again. I think the hardest part is getting to use shadow barrage before the enemies unfreeze, or getting the enemies frozen with only a caltrop. Im not sure if im doing it right but i might change off this build because im not a fan of the caltrops, they arent much fun and i feel like i have to run into enemies to use them, and im super squishy as it is.
how can i increase my core damage from stats, i see you have 49% but i barely get 16-19%. playing rogue at lvl 57, cant get more that 10k dmg while a friend with a necro lvl55 gets around 60k to 100. thanks in advance for any help
Your gear will get better quickly. Look for crit chance, crit damage, vulnerability, freeze and chill. Hang in there once you get some decent gear you will be fine
Call for boss fights would you switch specialization to inner site as it’s single target to get that for seconds of close range infinite barrage blasts?
Thank you! This build is not optimized for Uber Lilith. Lilith requires high single target burst damage and this build is really built for leveling to 100, NM dungeons and everything else. You need a specific build for her, problem with that is when you build a build for Lilith then it’s not good AOE damage and that’s what you need for 99% of the game. Hope that helps
@ultrarunnagaming Do you think barrage could be tuned to actually do Lilith? That's where I got stuck last season with my barb could do high level NM dungeons but ran out of time tweaking my build to try and take her down she's such a pain man lol.
@@nickbooth8789 yes you can definitely tweak the build for Lilith. I wouldn’t even worry about that t until you are lvl 100 and very confident with how everything works in the build though. Let me know how you like the build. Hope you enjoy!
New season starts tomorrow so you should start building this build with your new rogue for season 1, I think you will love it. Thank you for the comment and supporting the channel:)
I understand what you put into your skill tree, but can you please list the skills used on your skill bar? I know it’s puncture, shadow imbuement, caltrops, barrage but what is the last skill? Also, is there a reason you don’t use an ultimate? Thanks
Yes cold & shadow imbuement, puncture, barrage, dash, caltrops and we also have dark shrouds not on the skill bar as our 7th skill. If we used a ultimate we would have to get rid of caltrops and that would go against the entire build. Appreciate your questions.
@ultrarunnagaming hiw is dark shroud your 7th skill? I see what you did in the skill tree but the skill says you need 4 active to gain the buff. How are they active if ita not on your bar ?
@@blaironeill7777 All you need is 1 skill point into dark shrouds although much better with 3, you also need the dark shroud aspect equipped. Once you have both when you critically strike you generate shrouds and you don’t need it on your skill bar 7th skill. I talk about this in the skill tree and gear section
@@ultrarunnagaming this is my first Diablo iv played so when i seen the patch notes that’s everything got destroyed i was a little demotivated but this helps out a lot!!
@@scotttaylor4010 oh yeah this build is particularly strong with burst damage. Every enemy in your traps will be destroyed instantly. I hope you enjoy, please let me know once you have it built. This really is a top rogue build after the patch.
Thoughts on Disobedience on amulet for extra survivability after the nerf? Also, still no Exploit glyph? Care to elaborate? Vuln is still king for damage?
I would switch to disobedience once the build is ready for high nightmare dungeons. That’s going to take a bit since everyone is starting a fresh character for season 1. In regards to vulnerability it was recently hard nerfed and I tested it out after the patch , just wasn’t worth the glyph slot right now. If your build has 200+ vulnerability then that is a sweet spot, the glyph will add a small percent and we already have multiple ways to apply vulnerability to the enemy so overall not worth the slot imho.
so what if you had most of these affix but they were on different gear, would it still be viable, or should I break them down and get them attached to the same pieces of equipment as in the vid? I have edgemasters and rapid and most of them but they are on different pieces.
You will be fine on other pieces it won’t change the damage all that much. Your high damage numbers come out when enemies are chilled or frozen and a lot of the damage multiplies from the skill tree, paragon and glyphs. The one aspect that you do want to keep on the same item is the +40 damage to skills on your bow/crossbow since you get a 100% bonus in that slot
Whats the rotation look like are you able to cold imbue and shadow imbue at the same time? Also when are you using dark shroud if its not on your bars?
I do discuss the rotation towards the end of the video. Dark shrouds is the 7th skill, you must have at least 1 skill point into dark shrouds and have the dark shrouds aspect equipped on a piece of equipment. The way we active those shrouds is by critical striking enemies. That’s why you want high crit chance and fast attack speed. Once you have both you will always have shrouds. It’s OP as heck!
Could this work w twisting blades as well? I’ve been running similar. Calltraps shadow twisting blades. Haven’t tried since update though. Obviously tweak the barrage part
