Really true! "Inflation" that keeps diablo 3/4 running is called dps. You cannot just log out and play again after 2-3 sessions as your top tier build is medicare...
@@wavelength369the bigger numbers are, the less meaning they have. Smaller numbers are better for clarity and readability. We don’t need every game to have 16 digit damage numbers for the Timmy’s that can’t even say that number
Razz one thing you forgot to take into account regarding the blood surge Necro is the fact that those training dummies are missing, massive amounts of corpses on the ground, like the infernal hordes would have. All the power of this build comes from corpses and the interaction between our Uniques. I’d say the blood surge Necro is right number two for inferno hordes and 4 overall. It also kills every Uber boss, and it can carry every Uber boss
Blood Surge is great for AOE but it struggles against bosses, especially in T8. Andy Rogue, Lightning Spear Sorc, and Stormslide Druid all destroy the bosses with similar gear, for that reason I would rank Blood Surge 4th in the Hordes.
I think that as long as they continue to open up multiple viable builds per class the game is in a good state. Obviously some work still remains and hopefully more underperforming build routes can rise up without having to nerf others. It’s also nice to have options in the endgame so you aren’t feeling the pressure to play something that doesn’t click with you. I think it’s also easy to fall into the trap of comparing how different builds scale up with each other instead of measuring them up against how they performs in the endgame content. If a build struggles against tormented variants or in T7 or 101 pits, then it needs work.
There's a Godfather spoof movie called Mafia! Where Lloyd Bridges is trying to get a ring off his mom's finger and she keeps farting every time he pulls on it. "Scusi Mama. Scusi Mama."
This is a phenomenal idea. Great way to get people excited to try out new builds. Definitely about to make that Landslide Druid after seeing it in action
Thanks Raxx for revisiting the list. I would like to see the new guides for Druid and Necro. Looking at making secondary builds. I appreciate the Sorcerer news that the patch did not do much to game play as I was just getting ready to switch over.
Really liked this type of retrospective video, going back to previous statements and tiers forecasting and rethinking about them after some time into the season
Sorcerer survivability probably up at least a few from 4th also. I know you were focused on endgame for this video but thought I'd mention. Love the content and tier list revisit!
Started playing Diablo 4 for the first time 5-6 days ago. Halfway to be fully geared for chain lightning sorcerrer. Grinding my way to lightning spear. Saw your other video talking about sorcerrer and started to build it. Very nice and clean videos, well structured and maaan thank you! So much fun to play the game, and with your help it's perfect! 👋😄🍻
Barb being dead last makes it the worst experience in the game. You must get even more items, more rolls, and upgrade more gear for it to be in the bottom while also forcing you to be in melee range. Blizzard balance team is braindead.
Guides are always welcomed! You know one I would love to see? A salvage guide. I have my inventory full and don't know which ones to burn, it would be super welcomed. In maxroll for d3 it had the salvage list but I know it might not work for D4 but it helped a lot
Really appreciate you revisiting the tier list. I've been running WW Twister Barb and it's been...okay, but I don't dispute your re-ranking here at all. In particular, it's still great for speedrunning something like Nightmare Dungeons, but I feel like the format of Infernal Hordes really shakes things up in terms of balance (which is good). Gonna give landslide Druid a shot after seeing your re-rankings here.
The answer is yes to all the questions at the end, big fan of the looking at the rankings again after things have a chance to settle. Also inngeneral a fan of the build videos and personally i like to play all classes per season normally so in general my response would always be yes to build videos. 10/10 content lately.
Great content. I actively follow streams so I've kept up with the meta changes, but videos like this is a godsend for many people. Raxx you're the best.
got a shako and a tyrael’s might last night for my lightning spear sorc and i feel invincible. I can one hit all tormented bosses and cut through T8 Hordes like butter. It’s insane.
One hit or kill in one second? Cuz I see a ton of people claim they can one shot, but even though it’s in the phrase “ONE shot” they can’t seem to comprehend the two words 😂
Barbarian definitely needed the nerf, but the sad part about them now is that their core skills deal no damage. All of them. Double swing and whirlwind are just to proc dust devils. Hammer of the ancient and upheaval do no damage. Rend is so bad that a basic skill flay is better. I think Necromancer could use a buff and a better minion AI. They can clear stuff, but it's just slow to me. Maybe you need godly gear to make them work, but I never managed to do so. The class in general feels a bit more boring to play compared to other classes, even the weaker barbarian this season.
You can make Necros strong just fine but until they give them mobility they will never be anything but "slow." They have the damage, but not any sort of speed. Even their damage is lower than most classes that *also* have way more speed than them. The devs have dropped the ball with Necro since release.
I just turn it off completely. Once you get an idea of what your character can output I don’t feel the need to see numbers all over the place. Just watch the hp bars disappear
Damage numbers are a completely pointless "feature" that crept its way into these games from MMORPGs. I mean, there are SO MANY numbers floating around that you can't read any of them anyways. The very first thing I do in every ARPG I play is to go to the UI settings to check what I can and cannot turn off. Damage numbers are the very first thing to go, if at all possible.
@@zero932905 agree in game it’s cleaner to have off. Mine defaulted to that this season and I didn’t miss it until I was trying to get the billion dmg procs. but for training dummy it is just so much easier to see the damage I might be playing around with.
Awesome video. i love this kind of stuff. i feel its nice for the people that dont have a ton of time to play andmay feel a little stuck with what they are playing. ty raxx keep rocking!
Yeah, i agree with all the positions, and just to say, i've made a Blood Surge Necro and a Dust Devil WW Barb, both with super endgame gear with all the ubers and the masterwork and GR in the right place, i really have super gear, my blood surge with all the multiple drains and the nova deal over 300/400 million per overpower cast to any enemies in the screen, way more compared to the Raxx video, and also the WW dust devil, over 15 million damage for single devil, almost the max duable, and it's incredible to say, but simply the blood surge have more damage, in the aoe, and in the boss damage and single target, unbelivable until last season edit. and so finally, it's time also for the barb to get some buff in the upcoming patch and not only nerf
I've been having a silly amount of fun with the Fireball build. The Staff of Endless Rage and the Gloves of the Illuminator make for a really good time.
Had a random playing helltide with and we summoned the helltide boss and he was wrecking the waves before I could do anything lol. Was sick...I just stood there like mkkkkkk
@@kingcodeman1992 I just picked up a Starless Skies, it goes so much harder now, really digging how many builds are viable now with the updated uniques

Yeah this is cool. I saw the Druid Landslide build on Maxroll and thought "You know, that actually looks fun to play. And not like clunky to be able to use." Not to mention you get the Uniques to be able to make it work even while levelling through the season caches. And I kind of appreciate when you can use a build to level and then take it into endgame, instead of having to learn a completely new playstyle to make use of a specific "Endgame" build.
I tried making Nature's Fury Landslide/Lightning Storm work so bad season 1-2. It was fun. Glad to see it's viable now I'll probably end up playing this season afterall.
Awesome video, I’m grinding a mageblood in poe, but when the Lilith exp buff comes I’ll start the Diablo 4 season, thanks for the video for sure rolling a sorc.
That’s a first. A honest “we were wrong” about the list. Respect. As for barbs getting the nerf bat inserted sideways, I agree that’s the case on the top end. I do feel we need a different type of tier lists. I agree these builds are the best. But a lot of them require monk like dedication to farming to get going. I mean if I wanna make most of these s-tier builds work, I need to kick out my significant other and hire a maid to cook and clean. I create my own builds because of time constraints: - I need builds that work with easy to farm gear (boosted by main stat, working without needing GA resouce/cdr wise,…) - Ubers need to be an upgrade not a necessity - there needs to be a path to upgrade from working to best in slot And Barb still has a build like that: brawl/rupture spam. Enhanced rupture explosion is the last uncapped boost barbs has, boosted by main stat. The basic rupture uniques actually have a strength roll on them. I even went as far as to move cdr from gear affixes to aspects to be less gear dependent. I want my best in slot items to have affixes like strength and life, not something like “you need +ranks to whatever with a greater affix and Tripple crit masterwork or it won’t work”. You know, builds that benefit from stuff you actually have a chance of finding in game. I’d love to see a tier list actually considering the time invested in farming for the build. Until that time tier lists are theoretical things for me. They might give build ideas, in the “maybe I can make it work with less” kind of way. But I’ve spent too much time of my life “chasing” builds that take more time to farm than I have in a season. Not to be negative, if you have the time go for it. But there’s no where to go for no nonsense decent builds that work without devoting all your free time to a build guide you can only realistically half complete.
Raxx GREAT VIDEO!!!! keep them coming, great idea to come back to the topic mid season!!! LETS be real you put a must try video we ALL trying it!!!! Keep the Videos coming on ALL content Brother!
Absolutely loving the game this season. I really hope the expansion adds some endgame systems this game is really coming to together and deserves so much more
playing druid this season for the first time. while I am still farming gear for T4+ hordes/endgame content, its really fun and just feels good to play.
I went Barb this season because I loved HOTA a couple season back, and I am having absolutely 0 fun. I figured once I got to endgame it would come together and after trying multiple builds, it just sucks.
I will take as many guides as I can get. Haven't played since launch and I'm enjoying it so far. Made a rogue and sorcerer and both are 100. Debating doing a barb or necro next but undecided. I started with a druid at launch so maybe I'll get to that if I have time.
Hey Raxx, I'm in love with the blood surge necro, but you should note there is actually a variant of the bone spirit that emerged that is better than the "plain" spirit one. It's a bone splinters build, using the bone spirit to generate splinters, just like the druid landslide generating lightening storms.
Barb main here. being last is fine, but being this far behind in last place is not fine. T7 and T8 are painful to play as barb and that's the only place to get decent neathiron
Same haha. It was the last class I had yet to make a toon for. I got lucky and dropped 3 Ubers so I’m doing ok. But I’m bummed that I could be absolutely annihilating with literally any other class
I never play barb and always go rouge or sorc in any of these games so I finally try a barb and 😢idk I played to about 70 and just couldn’t keep going I like the rouge Play style to much so I just couldn’t keep going on with the barb it felt meh imho I’ve never been a fan of barb or necro respectfully 😂 I have like 4 rouges now 😂 they’re to fun and have so much diversity
Personally I hate what they did to Barbarian. I understand they wanted to trim the Barb back, but like most nerfs do, it went too hard and now they just don't have a place in the end game unless you have every uber, perfect GA master worked/tempered gear, and even then by comparison to other classes with the same, it's a sad sight as they just can't compare. I'm still running a DS twister build because I didn't respec to it until late last season, and it went from this is some of the most fun I've ever had playing this game, to meh at best, which is just utterly heartbreaking. I'm still trying to build back up my mats, gear and gold so that I can respec again, but there doesn't look like anything in Barb right now I would be happy with (not a fan of bash), and in a game like this, that should NEVER be the case. Every class should have numerous viable options. Which ones rank supreme should fluctuate, I get that, but it should never be that an entire class is as dead as this. I really hope Barbs get some love come mid season.
I've been playing Xarrio's Andariel Rogue (melee setup using Flurry and Puncture) and it's one of the strongest and most fun builds I've ever played. I'm glad Flurry has a place in the meta even though it's really Andariel's damage but Flurry is my favorite Rogue skill, never has been that good in the past.
As a barbarian player i can say barb is weak this season, everything else is better i couldn't decide what to play on barb it all feels bad, made a sorc and started tearing everything up
Oh please. WW dust devils is still really powerful and really fun. It doesn't "feel bad." Barbs just aren't god tier number 1 anymore and that is just fine. Barb players really are something else...
@@blaynegreiner9365 No, it's not fine to nerf classes down only to replace them by buffing others up to god-tier. It's horrible balancing from the devs. This whole flip-flopping of class balance and the fact they can't seem to actually balance classes out properly is lame. Also, plenty of druid and sorc players cried all season when their classes were a bit weaker but still perfectly viable for 90% of the game's content. It has nothing to do with "barb players really are something else." Trying to do tier 7 Infernal Hordes as a WW barb, with all BIS gear, nearly perfectly masterworked does feel significantly weaker than sorc. Sorcs are at least 3x as efficient/powerful. Inb4 you say "found the barb player."
@Raxxanterax you should do a guide video showing how one could possibly find a secret god tier build. I.e. what effects/skills to stack together, how to focus on min/maxing while you level up etc. maybe even go through an established endgame build and show how you would "stumble" into it level by level. Could be fun.
Hey Raxx, thoughts on making a “Greatest Builds OAT” video? Idea sparked in my head with this video and how strong Lightning Spear Sorc is, maybe like “Raxx’s Hall of All Time Builds” Just something fun lol
I just switched my sorc to ice spikes with the new stuff this season and it was shredding for million at level 70. No glyphs leveled and just a slapped together build. Gonna push ice as far as I can before switching.
Dark Shroud masterwork really supercharged Rogues. Undies Barrage is very powerful and even ridiculously easy to put together Arrow Storm is enough to farm Pit 100 and around T5-6 Hordes.
Well, thanks a lot Raxx! I chose barb because you said it would be best endgame. I guess going forward, people should do the exact opposite of what you say.
WW Dust devils is a lot of fun and with Arreat's legs and i'm doing fine in Infernal Horde T7 and T8. It isn't the best, but it works and i'm really tanky at least. Kinda need a bit of a buff. I have all the needed Mythic Uniques and good gear (not perfect).
I always play the Wizard/Sorcerers, glad to see they get their time to shine. I'd love to see a build guide for it. Btw, there is a stash in the training room. lol
Would love to see the Druid landslide build guide. That’s what I am playing now and would love to compare to see where how close my build would is compared to yours.
Between Druid and Rogue I think the druid ceiling is higher. When I started on the rogue everything was just blowing at one click but with each upgrade the damage increase is not that big. I'm glad that Druids are good.
If you go for andy barrage spec, the ceiling will be higher than landslide storm spec, talking about the top specs on both classes, don't know about the other specs.
Sadly no credits to Mekuna = Sorc Lightning spear build AceOfSpades = Druid Landslide T8 destroyer build For creating theese build before no one knows about Them In my opinion this is so sad to see some Content creators dont give credit where credit should be giving No Hate towards you Rax good video and a tier list there is spot on
dang it Raxxx.. i started with barb HC now at 92 played helltide and saw a sorc just 1 shot maiden over n over n over so i stack my cage to 3 and reap the exp..
