I had a bunch of heavy 40 series 8020 aluminum extrusions and 6061 aluminum stock that I needed to cut. I hate how bandsaws leave everything rough. So I did a little research, and bought a Diablo Laminate/nonferrous metal saw blade. Wow am I impressed. My worn out Harbor Freight 10 inch slide miter saw is now an aluminum cutting machine! I have made about 20 cuts so far - and though some people might like to see this in action. I gave about $65 for the blade at Home Depot.

I need a 7.25” blade for my newly purchased miter see. Cutting 2020 and 2040 extrusions and the cuts aren’t too pretty 🥴 thank you for the video

I hear references to “Harbour freight” so often but I’ve never seen one. Must be an American only store.

Isn’t everything in this video reference American. The guys doesn’t have British accent, Diablo doesn’t sell anywhere but US. RU-vid google headquarter and data center warehouses that’s water cool powered is in California USA. He even mention “10 inches saw” opposed to 8974 millimeter saw, or he mentioned 60 dollar blade or el cheapo reference to high Spanish populations. Get it together captain obvious

Ah, 80/20! Some of my favorite metal. I’ve found the Diablo blades to be pretty good, and well priced. I have a 14” for my cutoff saw for steel and stainless, and it’s much better than I thought it would be. At $70 it’s about half of the price of the Fein Slugger at $135, which supposedly is just for stainless.

I just tried one of these on a skilsaw to cut some steel. Out of the box it cut 3/16" steel angle like butter. Perfect cut and finish. Interested to see how long it lasts but I've heard good things about the logevity.

I use the miter saw all of thime for aluminum angle. A fine tooth carbide blade works fine. I would be interested in the difference between the two blades.

The plans sight got hacked, and I just don't have the time to re-create it. I hope sometimes this summer I can get it to forward to my current site morrismodels.com, and put the plans up again.
