This is a very solid game.. Yes, it's $60 (Probably $70-$80 here in Canada) but I still plan on picking it up soon.. Planning on a physical game and this will be my first Diablo game so I'm pretty interested..
@Noc : Is this actually going to be a physical release? Is it going to be a: 1. Physical-Full-Cart 2. Physical-Half-Cart If you know this, can you point to a source? I don't buy Digital Download-Only or Physical-Half-Carts. Thank you in advance.
And included all the DLC which was big money for previous versions on other platforms. You don’t have to buy it so why shit all over it without playing it or knowing all the details?
At full price, it is a good deal. You get the base game, extension Reaper of Soul and the Necromancer DLC (with bonus character slots and inventory slots). No season pass and microtansactions, a real full game with plenty of content wilth online and local cooperative multiplayer. Probably the last consumer friendly Diablo before Activision turns the next one into a Destiny like experience...
@@pencilcheck Real Money AH was removed years ago as part of the transition to the expansion Reaper of Souls. Blizzard admitted it was a failed experiment.
@@sociald1077 The auction house was never removed from the chinese version of the game. The game is free to play with DLC, microtransactions and the auction house. I am pretty sure they never got loot 2.0 system becsuse Activision / Blizard are earning a ton of cash in China with it. Luckily for us, the Switch version is not this one.
"Probably the last consumer friendly Diablo before Activision turns the next one into a Destiny like experience..." You don't know how prophetic that line is, with Diablo Immortal being announced, it's not a death blow to the series, with the large Diablo 2 and 3 communities, but it is a huge blow to the series as a whole.
Nathan you’ll love it on the go. I have Diablo 3 on pc, PS3 and PS4, and zone am getting the Switch port so I can play it anywhere. Yes, I like Diablo.
Enjoy man. I allready put about 1000hrs on PC alone then few hundred hrs on ps4. So i kinda had enough of diablo3,tho handheld sounds tempting haha. Cheers
I love d3 but i dont think i could play it without getting irritated as i play it on pc. Btw everyone new to d3, dont be afraid to start a seasonal character. Its more fun and makes the game last longer. Also all the classes are equally viable, so dont think you picked the wrong class for your first character. Some beat out others at the VERY endgame but at that point all that really matters is your paragon.
Vanilla D3 was okay up until ROS. Then D3 became a great game after a few more patches/updates. Here's how seasons works: It's basically starting the game over under a time limit to see how far you can progress for a chance to get exclusive content and storage space. Once the season is over all your XP and gear transfers over to your regular account. Late game has far denser mobs that fill the screen especially when running rifts with 3 other players online. I recently found out the Switch game comes with Adventure mode unlocked from the beginning, which IMO is far better than the campaign and where the real game starts. Late game D3 is like fine tuning an engine. Once you've got a beefy motor and you're plowing threw demons is where the game truly shines :)
I love the handheld footage, because when I play D3 I always play a smooth jazz / lounge webradio ^^. Smooth jazz fits well with a smooth game like diablo!
The big N (nintendo) and blizzard is giving us portable diablo..... Wow this means a lot to us gamers. I'm so happy nintendo is different and not to big on hardcore for real gamers ( graphics whor... And master race beefy systems) so we can enjoy this on the go. Thank you Nintendo and a job well done.
Demon Hunter tip, Spawn: The X button you have mapped to is a vault maneuver. You dont have to dodge and sidestep an enemy. You can use that, it uses the purple portion of your power, and it gets you pretty far from the enemy. Its a blink.
I'm not touching this, no damn way. I played Diablo 2 back in 2000 in highschool. That game consumed me. So much time spent in it, such little sleep. At least I made some money from selling items, I suppose, lol. I won't ever play this if I have it my way. It's not because I think it will be a bad game, it's because I know it will steal my soul once again. Be warned! If you are in to games like that, this is for you, if this has happened to you in the past, and you don't it to occur again, avoid! If you're in to RPG dungeon crawlers where there's rare loot of significant value, this is your game. When 3 came out, I resisted the urge, I held off and ignored every temptation. It was not easy. Thought I had surpassed this obstacle on my life, and here it is again. I must refrain. I must! I'm already doing it with Splatoon 2 (2800 hours, but I do play in a team), so I don't have time become obsessed with another game. This game should come with a health warning! 🤣
@@TheLurkerAtTheThreshold it is an addiction to a game, of course. That's what I was saying. It's not game addiction as the medical term says, but addiction to a game. However, I'm trying to further explain that this game is very likely to have you addicted to it. If other games are caffeine, Diablo 3 is IV Meth.
@@frozengamer3030 It's not every game. Every game will do it to an extent, it depends on the person. This game however has a higher tendency to get you hooked and hooked right in; it's very strong. This game is like heroin, other addictive games are like cannabis.
Our local Target has mistakenly placed a sale price on the Diablo shelf so I grabbed one but when scanned it was actually 60 bucks. I complained they said it was a mistake but in the end I got it for the sale price like 50% off.
I played diablo 3 when it launched on pc for like a summer and haven’t played it since. So i know there have been a ton of changes and I’m curious to check them out. And what better way to check out how the game’s changed than portably on my Switch? I’ll be buying when it launches for sure
Green Man I did get it! I love it, and actually have been putting a lot of time into it because of the corona situation. Very satisfying loot system, haha.
This is not a fair assessment of performance for this game. The real stress comes from being in 3-4 player games doing rifts and greater rifts with 100 enemies in the screen and effects from all of the characters going off. You rolled around in cathedral in single player mode, a toaster can get 60 fps with just that.
This game should come with an addiction warning, seriously and now it’s on the Switch you could spend literally 100’s of hours on this, BOTW was bad enough as far as being addictive but this will take the biscuits 😆. That said D3 never was as good as D2, just didn’t feel as good to play, something felt missing.
Darius Truxton you play the same char on or offline.. once you create your character and play a bit, you go online with that same character, equipment, level, etc. and play with other peoples!!! Awwwe yeay!
@Darius Truxton Yeah on and offline uses your normal profile/char, although there is no offline mode on the PC version, only the console versions allowed offline play, as far as I'm aware blizzard never patched the PC version to allow offline play, I'm guessing it was purely for DRM purposes.
You got a much better portable screen recording this time, but there's still a couple of issues with it of course. I find these never give you a full idea of what the game will look like in handheld. This may be difficult, due to lighting and glare, etc.. but I think if you played around with a more distant shot (put a black sheet behind the switch or something) you could get a much more clearer, better focussed shot. I've seen one or two other places film from a distance, and it's quite effective. Gives a much better idea of the handheld experience, along with getting a much clearer shot.
I want it! But I have it for PC and I just can't personally justify another $60 to essentially buy a second copy, even if its portable AND comes with reaper of souls and all the DLC. Maybe in a few years if/when it goes on sale for pretty cheap.
I might get it. I got no job no more so I'm strictly saving $60 for smash and planned to get World of Final Fantasy. But maybe Black Friday I'll buy it thru amazon :D
Any plans to do an online play video with RGT85 and Dreamcast Guy and maybe some others? Would be nice to get a feel for how it is, especially in regard to voice chat via the Nintendo Online app.
I bought this last year for the 360 diablo 3 ROS I played this for 9 months my paragon is 400 I got my friends to buy it and we play 4 heroes like for 3 hours a day their paragon are 256 258 and 170
A groundbreaking release. Diablo 3 makes its way to an HD handheld device. That's crazy. And it not just handheld but a hybrid handheld! The future. Is. Now.
Keep it coming Blizzard. I’m getting this for the Switch for gaming on the go (even though I’ve got Diablo 3 on PS3, PS4 and PC) Would love to get Overwatch for the Switch...it if has offline multiplayer bots because I don’t play games via 4G and hell no to stream gaming. More third party AA-AAA games I would snatch up that could technically be feasible. -Saints Row 2,3 and even 4 -Fallout 3, Fall Out New Vegas and Fall Out 4 -Rage -Read Dead Redemption -GTA 4, 5 -Mass Effect, 2, 3 -Mortal Kombat, SFV, Tekken Tag 2, (as many fighting games as possible) Cheaper 512GB SD cards on the market.
I've played it on PC and PS4 before, to the point it so fun to play that I wanted to play it on the go via PS4 remote play, but unfortunately that requires a stable internet connection all the time, which can be challenging at times, eventually I just gave up. Now that it coming to Switch I can finally triple dip into this, and try out the Necromancer class I didn't have the chance to get my hands on,looking forward to the release~
I'd be more interested in seeing how the Switch fares when you're in end-game Greater Rifts with huge swaths of Champion/Rare monsters spamming all their rainbow smorgasbord of abilities, but conceptually this is ridiculous. Diablo (III) in the palm of your hand...
So, i never pre-ordered from the eshop before, i preordered this a week or so ago and pre-loaded, i preordered D3 on the PC all those years ago, i waited 13years for D3 to come into life after a heavy play of D1 &D2 upto the D3 launch date. Had too much going on, we quickly clocked D3 original on PC then moved pretty much straight on. 12months ish ago bought it again with all DLC on PS4, was suprised console can even do it as some games (like FPS) i believe require a mouse&keys but suprised by consoles, didnt play too much as i only wanted to play when my co-op team were with me so parked it pretty quick, when it was announced on switch, i mean .. i'm pretty much collecting switch games at this point and ... the thought of being a switch game collector and NOT having this game in the collection is blasphemous, now as launch approaches i'm so excited, i've booked leave just like i have for pokemon & smash and no one will argue with me on the next family holiday when 4 of us are in some hotel room between festivities and we pull out the switch for D3 snapping off the joycons!
I played the demo on pc and loved it. But I never have time to sit down and play in front of a screen but now it’s portable I can take it wherever I’m going to be so addicted
If you think this is a lot of enemies, wait till you get into the upper torment levels (torment 8+). That is where the real frame rate test will be. Also, I wonder how soon this will be hacked? I give it a week, of that.
How do they handle the controls on this? Wasn't it a PC game? Do you just control your dude with the thumb stick and fire the weapon with the buttons ?
I have played both the ps3 and the pc versions of this game and its fun. its good to put a good podcast in the background, turn your brain off and pass the time killing and looting. Also, the cinematics and the music are GREAT. Also, fucking coop in couch. Now lets hope it sells well, i want Overwatch on the switch so i can buy one. Its all i play nowadays and its stlyle fits very well with the console.
Welp, im buying diablo 3 again! LOVE that it coming out for the switch! Iron galaxy ported skyrim flawlessly, so im glad to see another incredible port by them! Heck yeah!
I bought Switch for this game. While it looks good and play well in solo, its important to point out that the lack of communication on Switch will break the complexity of the game to a high degree, because the endgame rely highly on synergies between the classes/builds, and planning between players. Secondly, the Switch version is infested by hackers, making it impossible for new players to learn from the Leaderboards. To put it simple, you will not have the same level of endgame and longevity on Switch as compared to PC.
I would really like resident evil 4 for the switch. Despite it being on literally every other platform, it would be nice to play it portable. (Not including the horrible mobile port)
I've never played a Diablo game before, but if any it reminds me of X-men legends I and II, and I played the heck out of those, so I'm definitely interested on picking it up
Brilliant let's play Jon(SW). Diablo 3 is a very good game for the Nintendo Switch too get and it's looking good and running really well plus fully packed, it's another cool 3rd party game too pick up guys.
The only good news about D3 on the Switch is if we get D4 than the switch may also get it. Beside that its not worth it if you already have the game on a different platform. Anyway, im still waiting for a good ARPG to replace PoE.
The only reason I am buying it is because I played the base version only a long friggin time ago. Never got to play any of the additional stuff that was added. So I might as well get it, and have it portable as a bonus. Honestly tho, that price is BS.
It looks like it runs good "now". Let's see how it runs in rifts where there are hundreds of enemies, particle effects, and explosions on screen at once. That will be the real test lol.
What's the benefit of the bundle. If I just buy a switch and Diablo separately that's 100 dollars less than the bundle. Besides some Diablo fan art on the game console is there any other exclusive?
You said metric-ton of loot. Whenever I have to set Diablo aside from other ARPG's with drops, I usually have to address diablo as a "swimming-pool sized loot party" game.
I will probably wait for it to get cheaper. I had a run with this on PC. It was fine, I just want it now to play with my son. I wanted it to be like Diablo 2 and it just did not do it for me.
we need path of exile and diablo 2. both are better than 3. i will be getting 3 tho cause ive always wanted to try it out. sadly ill be getting the digital version cause physical costs more than $60 and to me physical versions are better. path of exile even if its not ported we have nvidia geforce now which also needs to be ported to switch. if geforce now was ported to switch we would have a huge library of pc games to play on switch (if own the games).
Is this: 1. Physical-Full-Cart 2. Physical-Half-Cart 3. Digital-Download-Only Is it to early to know? This should be standard review information by now.
